I wonder how the "early adopters" feel now? If other established brands in the industry ever did this, the howling would never stop.

begging for free skates then sending a coupon around the internet is kind of a shithead move, but i guess it's up to mlx to control their ordering process

or they could be fine with everyone getting 50% off, but I have a hard time believing that

Weren't the early adopters given %50 off as well?

I guess we will have to hear from one to find out if they did pay $800.

The Star numbers are a bit off as Bauer is close to 70% of NHL skaters. The Star also did not mention players in Graf. There are some in the NHL wearing Graf. The Easton number was bit too high, as well. The numbers are never static but Bauer has been above that number The Star mentioned for quite some time.

It's there:

That leaves about 5 per cent to other manufacturers like Graf, which has made serious inroads with NHL players.

I would never make a good copy reader. Anyway, the math adds up to 101%.

I thought MLX would have at the start of the season more players using the skates than they actually do.

Really? Graf has made serious inroads? Their market share used to be significantly higher than it is now and has fallen significantly over the last decade.

unfortunately for me i still cant access it.

on a side note if i measure a foot size length of 26.5-26.7cm, what size would you choose for yourself size 7 or size 8. BTW i have seen the chart, i just want some second opinions. and when you measured did you sit in a relaxed position or stand?

It’s like a slipper or a shoe, but you can’t put it on from the front like other skates, you have to slip into it sideways. When you get other skates moulded to your foot, they are pretty solid. This skate (MLX) is so malleable, it’s like a piece of Kleenex.

So do you put the skate on differently? And when he says it's malleable, is he talking about after baking or actually in-game?

I stood straight up and had someone else mark the tape. I was a 25.5 on the nose. Went with a size 7 as I like a slightly roomier skate. If you like a tighter snugger skate, go with the smaller size. The opposite holds true if you want a little more toe room.

when you place your heel against the wall, is it firmly pressed or just touching?

I wouldn't say firmly pressed, but definitely pressed against the wall.

So I'm planning on purchasing these skates and am wondering if they are shipping from Canada. I would like to have the skates for Friday.

Secondly I noticed theta accept returns and exchanges only if the skates are unworn, but they allow them to be baked. Does this imply I may receive someone else's baked skate?

Thx

The skates are manufactured in Winnipeg.

Why would they send you someone else's baked skate? For starters, that's a horrible business practice and for a company that deals in hand made skates, I doubt they have had to deal with many returns.

If they accept returns then I am sure they will turn around and sell them to someone else. They aren't going to throw away a brand new pair of skates just because they have been baked once.

True. But with that particular boot, I would assume they would re-mold them to as close to new as possible at least.

I think I might pull the trigger on a set as well. If I overnight them I could have them by Friday. I've been waiting all day to hear back from them regarding sizing. My feet are oddsized, so my left foot is on the low end of a 10, while my right foot is in a size 9 according to their chart. I think if I go with a size 10, it'll be too big for my right foot, even though you can use their toe inserts. If I go with a 9, id just have to hope I gain a little wiggle room during baking.

Go for the larger size. It'd be better to have one skate be just a touch too big than have your foot be cramped in the opposite skate. If it's more than a touch or is a considerably large size discrepancy, I'd wait to hear back from them on their recommendation.
