n3ss 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2010 They have fans and matching jerseys that are numbered/have player names... and an announcer?sure thats beer league/? lolOtherwise pretty good.definitely better than the C league here, thats for sure.
flaming_june 2 Report post Posted December 28, 2010 They're a bit slow though. I like how everyone's got some puck skill. I lol'd at the ref that called charging. You never see that in beer league here.
ibeck 38 Report post Posted December 28, 2010 Is the red team playing the trap? Never seen that in a beer league
BCheetham93 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2010 Pretty legit for a beer league. Are those Moscow Dynamo jerseys? It seems like it's the Dynamo rink from the Ovechkin documentary

Captain Sane 2 Report post Posted December 28, 2010 I would say that's a real good B-level league with some A players mixed in (especially #8 in red). They look pretty organized but there's also of cherry-picking going on, at least from what I saw. Also seems to be a lot of penalties.I thought that was pretty interesting, actually, kinda cool to see how, at least to me, rec hockey seems to be kind of the same there as it is in the U.S.
goaliemanshark 6 Report post Posted December 28, 2010 Thats easily A level were i am. Easily.
Krev 86 Report post Posted December 28, 2010 3-man system? Sure it's not a tournament? Would explain the fans and matching jerseys.
Krev 86 Report post Posted December 28, 2010 announcer and music available for money :)fans are kind and wifesyes this is an amateur tournament, jerseys are not dynamo, they just taken a dynamo template and posted their logoand obviously they hired a coach for traps and so onIt wasn't obvious, that's why we've been asking questions.Still pretty cool to see that kind of organizational skills elsewhere in the world as far as hockey goes. As far as skill goes, I'd say that's around A2/B1 league up here in Seattle.

dayroc 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2010 That can't be a beer league, with 3 refs and body contact. If so, that is a serious beer league. Looks like A or B level
iceNsteel 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2010 I'd say it would probably be A division in most beer leagues. Though for the record I believe this a type of hockey you see in Russia that is more akin to semi-pro football in the US: the players aren't paid or anything, but they don't pay to play either as sponsors pick that up. Which I think would explain the small audience you see watching the game that is larger than what you'd see at most beer league games. So like semi-pro football these guys didn't have the skill to go anywhere (or are washed up), but not quite ready to hang up the skates on competitive hockey just yet. stuie7 6 Report post Posted December 31, 2010 That can't be a beer league, with 3 refs and body contact.European beer leagues follow the IIHF rules, which is full contact. We don't have the same "lawsuit culture".. yet.The Russians certainly know a lot about jersey design, Lutch and Kait do a good job.
