How the heck do you stand back up after a full on slash to the melon? Must be something in the Canadian water. But I would file charges for sure

I've never seen it like that before... anyone have any updates on what happened after? I think that player should be banned for life, besides the obvious assault charge. I mean c'mon... a game is a game, you get in fights and scuffles, but that chop was taking it way too far.

looked like little man syndrome. The guy in the red worked him a little (but not to hard) in front of the net and the little guy got upset.

His own team should give him a locker room beat down.

Crazy. Something like this happened on my lacrosse team in high school. A kid took a two hander like that to another guys head (this is in a scrimmage in practice mind you) and snapped an aluminum lacrosse shaft in half over this guy's helmet. He wasn't hurt at all, got up and kept playing and they both ended up laughing about it after. Still, this should never ever happen, it's crap like this that makes parents steer their kids away from hockey because it's "too violent", disgraceful.

its beer league seriously. How can you do that to someone. I hope charges are pressed and their are ramifications for his actions.

I'm trying to figure why the guy in red kept skating at him??!??!?!?! The guy in white sticks him once, and then red keeps coming. White lifts his stick and pauses before going all Tony Granato on him. The second he lifted his stick up over his head like that, you turn away. I mean, they're French, right? Running away from a fight is in their blood!?!?!? Bring on the flame throwers!

That was beyond belief. I think that if a teammate of mine did that, I'd throw down on him, or at least hold him while actively encouraging the other team to start feeding him.

Does anyone have any info on what became of this incident?

i had to watch this a few times yesterday when a friend sent it to me, and i have seen some stupid insidious crap go down at a hockey rink, from racism to cheap shots, but this one took the cake, wasted a possibly good composite stick but thats not the matter to it all, its the fact that he could have actually maybe killed the guy from the head trauma and his own team mates stepped in to aid him in the fracas? i would have joined the other team on whuppin his ass, i loved how the refs just kind of chill there though like "oh that just happened, what else is next" i'm surprised the guy got up, thats a grade a concussion if there ever was one but his legs did look a little wobbly, this is crap.

five bucks says this will be used by hockey haters at how violent this great sport is.
