Equipment sale discussion

HAHAHA! Derek was the worst! I think he got 6 pairs in the first session and probably a handful in the second. My WC pants were my score of the day! I got one pair of Easton's (which I LOVE and are my main gloves) and 3 pairs of various Reebooks.

dick I wanted those pants!

OK, those guys are used. There is a hole in the palm, but they are SUPER soft and nice!

Sorry dude!

i agree with the caps disappointing gear sale. i just thought i was being bitchy until i heard that everyone else feels the same. i was in the 10am STH time slot and i had about $400 to spend. i only managed to grab the only visor on the table (new tinted oakley)and when i got to the sticks just 30 seconds after entering there were NO right handed sticks left. i got 2 new warrior leftys brooks liach ak27 and a widow at $70 each. i figured i could use them to make a trade somewhere down the road

i picked up a pair of new nick backstrom x60's and carried them around with me while i looked at whatever was left and noticed the insoles were different right before heading to the register and figured i better try them on before dropping $300 on them. although they looked the same size, one was much larger. i went back to find the matching skate but someone grabbed it in another mismatch. so i ditched em

last year i got a new joe corvo s19 and 2 mike green ST's, new bauer helmet,2 pairs of socks,2 practice jerseys and a pair of tyler sloan one95 skates. and had the time to pick and choose. not the case this year.

I understand all the frustrations, but it's hard for me to be mad at the Caps when it appears that they just had less stuff to sell.

I agree completely. Next year I will just skip the whole Caps Sale process and find a few in's I have and use them to the best of their ability. If you can't beat em', join em'.

So let me get this straight. You're mad because there wasn't much stuff left for you, but at the same time you picked up 3 left handed sticks you aren't even going to use? And last year you bought 3 sticks, a helmet, socks, jerseys and skates? Pot, meet kettle.

Anyone get anything good in Manchester today? I got there a little late... wasn't a ton of stuff, I didn't get the impression from the few tables they had that there was ever much stuff to begin with.

I went, there wasn't much, I was 7th in line and all that was there were about 8 pair of gloves 10 pair of skates 5 or 6 helmets 40 goalie sticks and that was it. Everything was pretty old the newest skates I saw were some vapor xxxx. Also a bunch of jerseys for $250 each. Very lame sale.

I've almost definitely missed it this year, but does anyone know if Columbus has a sale? I love the color scheme on their gloves, and now that they got Wisniewski I'd love to run down and get a couple of his sticks. I also had a close friend make the awful  decision to attend Ohio State, so I'll have a place to crash which makes me hitting the sale more likely.

They had a used equipment sale at their draft party and I think that's all they're doing. They have a kiosk in the arena that's part of their Blue Line shop that sells game used stuff year round though, and they'll ship as well. Gloves in decent condition go for about $75.

Much appreciated, thanks.

Monarchs sale was weak, it was more like a jersey sale. had 4 helmets 4 pairs of gloves and a few pairs of really beat up skates. Tons of jerseys for sale.

I was there and got in when they first let people in. Let in the first 25 at 10 am and cycled new people in as people left. Decent selection of equipment, but big name players had been picked through previous to sale. Wasn't there last year so I cannot comment on price differential. All in all for my first pro sale I thought it went well. Got some good stuff.

it was not up to par. Let about 12 people in at a time and things were gone quickly. Also doubled prices from last year on alot of items

Kind of figured as much.

Speaking from my perspective, 4th in line and one of the first ones in I thought it was a pretty good sale actually. Also the prices on the stuff I got wasn't that bad and the guys I was with got some amazing deals. That being said, compared to the last two years the selection was not as good. I think that has a lot to do with Pure Hockey 'Hosting' the sale, I watched what seemed like every Pure Hockey employee and their brother walk into the store before the public, so I am sure they got first crack at everything.

Most importantly, I got JR the socks he wanted.

Last year the St. Louis Blues had some equipment and sticks for sale at their public team scrimmage. Unfortunately, for the 2011 season they have cancelled the scrimmage. There has been no mention at this time of a plan for any equipment sales. If anyone has information to the contrary please post.
