if downie came off the bench im sure he will probably get the ten games - but i don't understand anisimov celebrating like that - it's not like it won the game or anything..

act like you have scored a goal before geez..

I would never celebrate a goal like that, but the NHL needs more highlights and excitement. It wasn't long and drawn out and certainly no worse than the stuff a lot of guys have been doing over the last couple years. The NHL almost always finds a way to avoid handing out the mandatory ten game suspensions in these cases. I really hope they don't try to weasel out of this one. It looks like the refs didn't even give him the game misconduct he should have been given in the game itself.

Downie won't get the 10 gamer. In the highlight you see Moore get to the bench and then Downie skates over. It is a chincy move but you see it a lot when scrums take place at the whistle. I've seen a number of times in Bruins games where a scrum starts and suddenly Shawn Thornton is in the middle of it but he wasn't on the ice previously. I'm sure teams have a set rule that if a scrum breaks out then the guy closest to the bench changes to let the enforcer free to, well, enforce.

Sutton has done things like that over his entire career. He should have been suspended a dozen times by now.

He could have easily gotten double digits for that. I think the fact that there wasn't an injury on the play made it so it wasn't.

NYR hamming it up in front of the HBO cameras, simple as that.

Still considering whether an injury occurred, rather than whether it was likely an injury occurred. One of these days he'll have to address a check that causes serious injury, and an identical check that causes no injury. How about a totally brutal head slam that, only by some fortuitous circumstance, avoids damagling someone for life?

i would have never guessed anisimov for doing that though - he seemed like a pretty quiet guy that was relatively shy

That was a strange and offensive way to "celebrate". Also strange is that all the press accounts I've seen seem to call it a "rifle shot" when it looks like a shotgun pump.

Lucic to have a hearing on Monday. I wonder if the grace they gave him when he hit Miller will be revoked.

I think it's a little strange that he's getting a phonecall after NHL.com had the hit on the highlights. Usually they wont do that if there's gonna be some kind of supplimental discipline afterwards

I don't like the way he trips over the referee. If not, I don't think he gets hit in the same way. It was inevitable because of the trip, and I don't know that Bourqe had time to stop.

Bourque isn't skating hard at all. Rene coasts right in and finishes a guy hard in the numbers while he is hunched over facing the boards. This is a textbook example of seeing the guy in a vulnerable position taking advantage of it. There is no legitimate reason to get your arms up and finish a guy in that position.

Maybe Bourque could have spread his hands apart, and taken the impact on the glass with his gloves? It'll be interesting to hear, if Shanahan addresses it. There was also an earlier hit, might have been questionable, on Hjalmarsson, by another player.
