New Bauer products for 2012

Hopefully they're gonna bring back the Power Core 2 blade core under a different name? -fingers crossed- It's as close to wood you can get without actually using wood.

If you're talking about old Mission technology I'd personally I'd love to see Bauer bring back the Mission Titanium blade tech with the 60-day warranty, not that it feels like wood or anything.. I just thought it was a reasonable innovation.

Interesting that the Nexus stick line will have the "feel of wood". I wonder if the Mission VDS blade tech is involved?

That was something someone wrote; not Bauer.

No VDS blade in there.

I thought I would post it on here since this is new for Bauer. If you order the 4 inch extension on a MyId stick it is not just a plug. It is actually 4 inches longer.

It's still a plug. Cut an inch off (better yet, cut 3.5" off) and you'll see.

I am really interested in seeing the shin pads in person. Hunting old stock of JOFA and RBK is getting tiresome and expensive. With some adjustments the Nexus ones may find their way into my bag.

It is fused then. I have had three total ones all with "Total One" carbon plugs and none of them have fit the stick without adding tape. By the time I added five layers of tape the plug is heavy again. At least this way it is not going anywhere and does not require tape. I will say this though, I better not screw up and cut it too short!

It's a composite plug epoxied in and finished. So, if you need even more length, it is a PITA.

Good to know. Its what I figured they would do based on the mock-up and what I have seen from pro stocks I have owned. I typically have to extend Bauer sticks 6-7 inches to get where I need to be...

That still trips me out! I am 6'6 without shoes on and I only put two inches on my bauer sticks!

I was talking to an owner of my lhs and we talked about some of the upcoming nexus products. The Nexus stick will have a full flex construction kinda sort of similar to a G3. There is also a new revolutionary cage coming out too. Its titanium, has an awesome chin cup and is much lighter than the 9900 cage. In addition to these products there will be the apx protective gear and the nexus gear. Looks like a great year for bauer.

God, I've been wanting to say about the Ti cage, but didn't want to since I thought we werebt allowed. But yeah, I was told that it is supposed to come with the reakt helmet. It looked like it had a chin cup similar to the 9900.

Only $80? The Itech Titanium cage was originally $199 in Canada when it came out (probably $149US since the MSRP is always higher in Canada) so that makes $80 seem like a bargain. With that said, I picked up a couple Itech Titaniums on clearance for $40 so unless the new Bauer Titanium is significantly better than that from a visability perspective then I don't think I'll be dropping another $80 (probably $100+ in Canada) for the new Bauer right away. It's nice to know there will be another titanium option though, in case I ever need to replace my Itech Ti cages.

As a former triathlete/cyclist and current hockey gear whore, the thought of Ti in hockey makes me very nervous about my wallet.

Wow, didn't know about the titanium cage. If it has the same shape as the 9500/9900 and is made of titanium - I don't care how much it costs!

It's the Bauer shape, not the Itech shape.

The chin cup is nice as well. It will sell very well.

What are the benefits of a Titanium cage aside from weight and durability?

My wedding ring is titanium and just over 10 years old, not a scratch or ding on it. And people's jaw drop when they feel how light it is. It the same holds true for a cage, it may be the last one you need to buy.

My skull's reinforced with titanium. Maybe I'll pick up the cage to match...

LOL haha, all about the style

This would work well with the S19/E700, shame about the certifications though.
