Machinehead2k5 32 Report post Posted December 3, 2011 Being Indian and a fan of both Rob Lowe and Russell Peters, I'll probably see it. And it's not really Sikh rap as much as it's bhangra music, which is Punjabi.
wrangler 157 Report post Posted December 4, 2011 Thanks, I was just poking fun, saw Sikhs and heard rap.

wrangler 157 Report post Posted December 5, 2011 That was one clue, "Singh" was the other. My wife works with a Sikh, so my ignorance, while extensive, is not total.

wrangler 157 Report post Posted December 24, 2011 I've seen a lot of good Canadian movies over the years. The National Film Board of Canada has been behind good small films for a long time; I remember it from the 60s.

Davetronz 109 Report post Posted June 23, 2012 Bumping this old thread to say that I ended up finding and watching this movie last night. It was "interesting". Decently funny, better than a bunch of other "hockey" movies that I've watched. But if you aren't a fan of bhangra music or Sikh culture it probably isn't for you. I was expecting much worse, and I'd admit that I'd even watch it again in the future.
goblue9280 33 Report post Posted June 28, 2012 Apparently it was the highest grossing English Canadian film of 2011... not sure what to think of that.
