Thinkingjack 51 Report post Posted February 25, 2012 I was told from Tony about this place but he wasnt the first a few years before him i'd say about 2008 this guy on myspace mentioned MSH on a group chat about people who played hockey, and i made it an afterthought like a mental note.I joined icew thanks to Paulie, but then people began to turn into scam artists, and Brian said i should check this site out. I was reading on this site a few times by then because i kept looking up gear reviews and kept getting linked here. So i made an account but only read, then randomly started posting and now i check it all the time at work just to read stuff.and of course the ever hilarious JR email he sent me on facebook when i saw someone post about MSH and i said "who runs this thing?"and he's like "i'm the man who made MSH"I simply said "cool" i dont know if it pissed him off haha
Kirsch 1 Report post Posted February 25, 2012 Well, I don't remember what the other message board was that all of these guys posted on, but if I remember right JR, Chadd, et al. had some sort of falling out and created this board. I joined the day after it started, March 21, 2004. Turns out I was the 73 member, and the rest, as they say, was history.Obviously I don't post nearly as much as I did back then. tamtamg 12 Report post Posted March 2, 2012 I found MSH via Google. I was looking for advice for the best bang for my buck when I got into hockey. My wallet has hated me ever since.
<TJ> 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2012 Found it using Google too. I was looking for a forum where I could read and learn a little more about hockey on my spare time at work. This seemed like the nicest one out there. Haven't been proven wrong so far since I've gotten great advise on everything I've asked about.
akravetz 29 Report post Posted March 3, 2012 I used to look at the IW message board but for some reason, I got bumped over here. And for about the past six months, learned more about the sport and the business than I knew possible. Thanks to all who put up with my newbie questions. And thanks for the advice and the information.Andy in Peoria
RussianDangler15 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2012 I googled hockey forums and of the few I read, this was certainly the most informative and well run.

JoeyJ0506 192 Report post Posted March 7, 2012 Originally was an IceWarehouse member, heard MSH being talked about here and there but never really looked into it. As most know, the quality of information and individuals there dropped off in pretty quick fashion. At that point I migrated here. I was pretty intimidated to post and participate here. Now I've been to two MSH events, and plan to go to more. Awesome community to stumble upon.
Petey21 1 Report post Posted March 7, 2012 Used to hang out at the Corebeam boards back in the days, but when it shut down alot of the regulars there moved over to these boards, and I just followed along.
Zylos45 118 Report post Posted March 8, 2012 I didn't find MSH. It found me.........Seriously....it was a google search that brought up MSH thread as a result
tdunleavy 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2012 I stumbled across the pattern db via search engine last year while trying to decide on a stick change. It took me a while to check out the rest and join, but this is the best resource I've seen by far.
shotty 7 Report post Posted March 23, 2012 i was searching for a particular piece of equipment from years passed and the first hit on google was a thread on MSH that referenced it.
AlphaSierra 1 Report post Posted March 24, 2012 I was just getting back into hockey after a long stretch of work (over 10 years!). Googled hockey forum, saw a few so then I narrowed the search for specific questions and MSH was the only one that kept popping up. Figured I would take a look and the rest is history.I will take the time to say this board is a wealth of knowledge that has really helped me out. When I left the game last time, there were no OPS, composite skates, or nearly the number of companies and choices of gear out there. Back in the 90's one would have had to spend hundreds of dollars trying products out or a lot of time at the rink. With the posts here and a few questions, I brought myself up to speed in no time. You guys are all a credit to the sport and lets hope we can help it grow. So thanks MSH'ers!
hunt3rsean 44 Report post Posted March 25, 2012 Google helped me find MSH. Was googling how diifferent skate brands fit. The search brought me here and after poking around decided to join.
17D1998 1 Report post Posted April 11, 2012 Google. Whenever I was looking for info on gear, MSH was always the top search result. I lurked for a year or so and then I signed up cause I wanted to see TPS' catalogue or something. That was already 3 years ago, time flies...
maniacaniac 2 Report post Posted April 11, 2012 Always saw MSH referred to on other boards I was at. Finally created an account when I needed to find some info on mouthguards. Don't post very often, but check the boards almost daily to read any new info.
Scopes 4 Report post Posted April 12, 2012 I found MSH through google, every time I have EVER googled anything hockey gear related, there is usually a post on MSH that either is exactly what I'm looking for or close enough to help me out. I'm blown away by how much info there is on this site and by what it has to offer.

Jim A 4 Report post Posted April 17, 2012 Got on Corebeam towards the end and then after it went down it took me a month or so to realize that MSH was around. I think I was working with HockeyGiant at the time. Spending a lot of time in the roller world I was pretty much done with hockeysites but yeah, MSH was pretty different and still is relatively civil
empirehockey 1 Report post Posted April 17, 2012 Icewarehouse boards kept metioning this place. Kept thinking to myself "what the hell is a mod squad and how is that related to hockey?" Signed up and have been a member since.
dalelewis22 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2012 Was having a huge problem dealing with my Graf G35's skates at the time coming for Bauer 1000's. Went to LHS and they mentioned something about pitch. Did a google search and MSH came up and there was a wealth of information on my issues and on lots of other topics of interest regarding hockey. Ever since then I have been addicted to MSH. Super_Newfie 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2012 Google for me too. I was looking to upgrade some gear and pretty much ever piece I googled pointed to a review or discussion on MSH. Now I spend a good portion of my free time reading the older posts and just learning about stuff!
