Dear Bauer,

Recommended Posts

If there are any Bauer equipment reps perusing these forums, please God make a Sakic curve with 5.5 lie so I can stop buying easton garbage.

Also if anyone has any suggestions, I'm looking for a mid-high kick, 87 flex, Sakic type curve, that's fairly light. The best I've come up with is to use a bauer nxg shaft with an easton mako II blade.

The problem is this blade weighs a ton and i need something lighter. Any suggestions?

The P92 from Bauer is a Sakic clone if I'm not mistaken. Lie numbers vary but if you put the Easton up next to the Bauer they should be identical. The new MX3 from Bauer is high kick so give that a try.

The Bauer 6 lie P92 matches up with the 5.5 Easton Sakic/Hall. Same with P91A lie 6 versus the 5.5 lie Easton Drury/Parise. Don't go by the numbers posted on the sticks.

Speaking of this lie problem. I inspected some E28s today compared to E4s and the E28 "lie 5" was nowhere near the E4, which they also call a "lie 5." It was almost the same as the E8's, if not a touch higher. That's disappointing since I was hoping for that curve profile on whatever the lie of an E4 is. My next stop is to compare the E13 to the E4.

If you were to find a Bauer clone, it would be built the same way and no more durable than the Eastons. Nice dream but not going to happen.

They spin it as a "dual lie" so that it is a 5 when the heel is down and a 5.5 when the toe is down. Personally, I'm not a fan of the execution on that one.

Still, the way I interpreted their dual lie claim was that the lie at the heel for each lie-5 E4 and E28 should be close (which I think may be exactly what you're saying), but when I compared the blades, looking specifically for similar lie at the heel, it was way off...thinking back, I definitely should have taken a picture to show what I mean. Anyway, the heel of the E28 was what I found surprisingly high, even higher than a Drury.

Well, if you want a light midkick stick with a sakic curve, just get a warrior dynasty ax1lt w03 (henrique). The curve is identical to the sakic and warrior sticks feel amazig

I use an Easton Mako E3 (Sakic) stick, and used to have a Vapor X60 p92 curve, and the lie was definitely not the same. I felt with the Bauer stick, I was stick handling in a phone booth, and not in a good way. It was too upright. I'm only 5'7', so that may make a difference.

Anyone know if the new Bauer Lie 6 Ovechkin curve has changed at all?

Can I get a p92 curve in a lower lie?

Would like to try a Bauer stick again, but am hesitant to because of my bad experience with the X60 I had 3 years ago.

Bauer also makes the p92 in a lie 5 on the customizer and for special order. I believe HockeyMonkey usually carries the p92 lie 5 in the 87 flex of all the top end Bauer models.

I put them both on the ice side by side, and found the Bauer more upright. Does anyone else find the same thing?

How would the p92 lie 5 compare with the Easton lie 5.5?

See quote above... The lie # on sticks in practically meaningless.

Ok, but how much would the Bauer p92 lie 5 differ from the p92 lie 6?

Just wondering if the lie 5 in the Bauer would be ok for me. None of my local stores have the p92 in a lie 5.

A lot. They are very different. I can't use a P92 L6, but can use a P92 L5 and a P88 (listed as L6).

It's very close to PM9. I need the low lies too. I had been using PM9 because that was the only option Bauer had. Then they made the P08 which was the P92 with a more open toe. And now they just make the P92 in a lie 5. I just switched to the P88 and it's much lower than other lie 6's. I can use it at just about the same length as the P92L5.

Does the lie 5 p92 fall between a p14 and pm9? I like low lies but the only ones with an open toe other than the p14 and pro stocks are all around lie 6

You should give the P106 a whirl. Always played like a more open PM9 for me.
