The Mite team I coach went to a tournament this weekend on the Cape. Got lit up the first game, (nerves, different format) and proceeded to play two fantastic games the following day. The fist of the two was a 9-9 tie with the lead being traded back and forth the entire game. It was one of the best games I've ever seen at this level. I couldn't be more proud of the way these kids conducted themselves and gave it their all until the final buzzer. They dropped the second game 9-7, but dominated the last few minutes and had a ton of shots. just ran out of time. Nobody got hurt, kids and parents had a great time. Can't beat it.

Hey guys, I've been seeing an issue with every few pairs of skates with the new LS Edge holders. I don't have access to a Bauer rep anymore because my own pro shop is too small - so I'm hoping someone else in the industry has some official perspective to share. Basically, the blades are loose in the edge holder. Re-mounting the blade doesn't seem to help. The blades move side to side, and it seems like the channel in the holder is too wide (or worn out). This usually happens to both skates equally/to the same degree. I usually notice this first in the skate jig (the skate sags). Then, when I remove the skate from the holder to inspect, I can usually move the blades side to side with my fingers. I've read that you can simply put some teflon tape on the blade in the channel, but this doesn't seem "right" as far as a long-term fix is concerned. I'm also worried about the durability and safety of this for my players. Is there a recall on these that I or my customers should be aware of? Was this just a certain batch sold at a certain store? A certain model? Is there an approved fix other than replacement? Mods, feel free to delete or PM me if this isn't kosher or something that is supposed to be "hush". Thanks in advance!

I have an interview scheduled with a local ambulance company! I know it's just an interview, but hey, it's something.

The catalog is wrong indicating lie 5 & lie 6, but it is ONLY available in lie 5. Also, the only difference in the P28 vs. the E28 is that "P28" has Bauer's "PureShot" blade profile on the top throat.

Trying to figure this out myself. I'm going to use a micrometer on the blades and keep a tally the next few times - both when I see the problem and when I don't.

Exactly. I was pushing myself (heart rate was above 150 the entire time) but I was enjoying it, so it didn't seem like work.

Disagree. There are plenty of ways to burn calories... It's not so much "easy" as just not enduring it. Kinda like hockey, burn a chitton of calories and it's fun, doesn't mean it's easy, just something that you're not focusing on the fact that you're exercising. Need to find things like that. Some people love to run, it's not my bag. I run to train, but it's work. When I get on the bike, it's fun, like hockey.... I can do a monster climb, roadie or MTB & it's challenge, not means to an end.

PM Old Trainer Guy. I know he posted about this early on after the release of the Edge holder and the forum basically told him he was nuts.

My shots are faster and more accurate with the 1X puck feel and passing is better with the 1X too the only thing the QR1 is a lil lighter pretty much not enough to factor but the durability of the QR1 wasn't great i had alotta paint chips after only 1 game with it. QR1 is great stick IMO 1X is just better.
