Unless you have an extremly wide foot I would go with a regular width TRUE skate. I am a genuine E width foot and the regular width TRUE skate fits nicely. The wide was a bit too much width and volume. Most people have gone down half size in TRUE skates vs Bauer and CCM, thus if you are wearing a 8.5 you might want to consider a size 8.

@markk1If you can, use the MSH Pro Shop. This forum gives us a lot of access to FREE knowledge and people that you can't find anywhere else. That's how I found MSH. Using the Pro Shop not only all but guarantees quality workmanship, it's a monetary way to support this site.

Seriously? I dunno man, I did fine with the 4500 for a long time. The biggest tech leap I made was from the 4500 to the e700 and I have a few of those stockpiled, but I could never see spending 450 on a helmet. Not because I don't think it's important but because I don't totally see how the performance is that much better to justify the price tag. My .02.

The price of the shoes in that blog have absolutely zero to do with performance, you are in an entirely different universe of rationale and tax bracket for why someone would buy those. Are these helmets actually being 3D printed on demand to fit your head? I think we’re getting into the first world hockey problems here, I don’t even notice my helmet once I am playing and it is just a Re-Akt 95. Kid: ”But moommmm, I neeed that helmet to go along with my Super Duper Hybrid Max Kickpoint Slapper Stick and No Such Thing As Too Stiff Skates!!!! Mom: ”But Billy, you’re only 7....” Kid: “I want it!” Store Employee: “It will give him the best protection from concussions and be comfortable since he’s on the ice, did you say nine times a week?” Mom: “Well, ok...”

+1 for going down a half size in True vs Bauer or CCM.

Not necessarily. Not every store employee gets direct PK from a manufacturer. Some get training version geared towards selling or training designed in-house. Also, keep in mind most of these employees don't have anything vested and won't care anyway. But Peck cared when he worked for me, and look at him now! LOL

Gotta stay in the game. Hey, at least STX actually charges less for direct to consumer.

Thank you for sharing such detailed information about your area! I really appreciate it! Kyle

Interesting, I'll definitely have to do some more research in my area as far as rink ownership goes, at this point it's just a thought, if you will, but it is seeming to pick up more steam recently for me.

AH, gotcha! That makes complete sense. Thanks! It sounds like the BFHL and Toronto inline is what happened around here, gotta have a system to feed, it's really hard/ impossible to rely on people to return, especially if there is no up keep or improvements with the facility. Thanks!

You can get them done by JR right here in the Pro Shop.

Go have them done in a professional skate oven. You paid way too much for those things to not pay the $25 a pro shop will charge you to bake them! Also, you need to use a convection oven. The air circulation helps get the temperature the same inside and out.

There’s got to be a better way to say that

Decided to sell the WA stores. The deal will be closing this week. Ever since I relocated from WA to AZ its made operations overly complicated trying to manage multiple locations remotely. I feel the stores really need an owner who is local to make sure the staff and customers are getting the support and experience they need and deserve. The new owner is a good guy and has multiple stores in the WA area already so I feel everyone is going to be in good hands. Who knows. Maybe Bauer + CCM will eventually let me open a new store in AZ. I have been asking them for the last year to let me open a location in AZ, but they keep saying the market can't support any more stores. Anyway, this is quite bittersweet for me....
