After covid made my current position pretty much obsolete since fans haven’t been able to attend sporting events, I accepted a job offer yesterday after being on the hunt since the summer basically. it’s an entirely different industry to what I’ve been in, but it’s giving me a great pay and benefits package, and as someone who’s turning 30 this year, those things become more and more appealing hah

I haven't used base in years. Since they first introduced the savoy special. At the time and still compared to now, one of the most durable sticks and blades I've ever used. I never broke any I had except when I used the two piece for roller and that was only the blade and our roller games were played on smooth concrete.

Bumping this topic with an update. I have to disagree that the Pure-X are slower. I found them to be even a bit harder than the Pures. Durability on both is no contest, I used a set of pure + 2 from I think August until recently and I'm actually still using them on my outdoor skates when I practice or play pickup. Im usually lucky if I get a 10 game season out of a set of wheels and I think I got 5 seasons. Swapped some Pure-X on my indoor skates and they took about 2ish games to break in and they are amazing. Naturally the same wheel, my rink is super dusty so the grip is pretty good but it's not the best rink to test these on. Relatively speaking they are really nice and I had no issue feeling bogged down.

So as I posted earlier, my local Postmaster suggested filing an insurance claim if you're the sender for any package that has been missing or stuck "in transit" for the claim window of the service you used. I did that for a package had been stuck for 15 days. It was finally delivered 2 days later. Today I received a payout check for $64 for that claim, given because the item was past due. If you are the sender of a package that still hasn't been delivered - FILE YOUR CLAIM!

There are some factors that are appealing to roller hockey to me, but I do prefer ice. pros of inline are less, lighter gear quicker to get ready and get games in (no Zamboni, so about a 60 minutes experience between getting ready and playing the game, vs 90) cheaper per game cost can be more easily played outside/practiced at home less stoppages more room/time with puck per person more goals (may not apply to everyone of course)
