I guess I don't care as much about the finish of the structural integrity of the skate is good. I've never had any issues with TRUE personally, but I understand if you feel the fit and finish is not as good as other skates that cost the same price but aren't custom. What were we talking about again? Oh yeah. If you should try them. Do you need custom skates? Is there something wrong with your feet or do you struggle to find skates that fit you? I only advise people who NEED custom skates to get custom skates. Otherwise, it's a waste of money.

If the rest of the pad is in good condition consider taking them to a tailor to get the strap and velcro replaced. I've done this with my Jofa 8k pro and Rbk 9k NHL edition pads. I've tried every top of the line out there and still can't find anything that fits me as well as these do hence my efforts to keep these in use.

http://norcalyouthhockey.org/Clubs.html Ice Oasis San Mateo if you are on the Peninsula. The other options on the Peninsula have closed sadly.

I only did a little reading so please tell me if I’ve missed something with that condition; but if I had to make an educated guess, a stiff newer composite boot might be the last thing you want to go to in that condition, wouldn’t the rigid boot make it worse? and speaking generally, I’ve found newer stiffer boots are tough for coaching because any activity in those boots where you’re primarily standing and not moving is painful in any situation. have you had any boot in the pst that was tolerable for your condition? the first skate that comes to mind for me would be to look for older Graf 707, with doubled up thin skate socks. It would allow your foot some cushion and reduce rubbing and chafing of tour feet. (I suggest that, because up until about 10 years ago Graf would accommodate most any customizations for players.

There is a review out there that I suggest you search for. I unfortunately can't link it here.

STX is only direct To consumer anyways so you will not find in store. They are happy to accommodate returns and on elite line products you even get 14 days to demo and wear. To be honest I haven’t much been a fan of their shoulders or shins, but love the elbows (rx3 surgeon). I returned both the shoulders and shins after purchasing but have since tried a few sticks and own 2 pairs of the elbows. Their original surgeon stick remains my favorite inline hockey stick of all time

If you dont need a custom skate you are better off saving that money. Not to mention you have the TRUE 30-day satisfaction guarantee so if you do buy them and dislike the skate for any reason you can return it. Thats not possible with customs. The build of most brands custom skates is basically the same as the retail model too. So it's not like they are getting anything significantly better. I would say CCM is the only company that has some significant available options for their customs as compared to retail models. I prefer to not put anyone in a custom skate unless they need to be in one. Thats for all brands, not just TRUE. I like customers having peace of mind if they buy a skate and its the wrong fit for them or too soft/stiff, they can return.

use shot blockers or external foam with adhesive backing with those jackson skates, those will be the ticket. if you want to spruce them up, put some tuuks or ccm xs holders on them

I suggest this but with another adaptation. I had a haglunds bump that needed surgery because I couldn't take any pressure on it, to get back on the ice I drilled / cut a hole in the rear quarter of an old pair of grafs and then had a guy who worked with carbon fibre build a protective layer over the top of the cut out section. No pressure on my bump and a protective layer over it to stop errant pucks whilst coaching. Going this way removes the skate manufacturers from the equation other than selecting what boot you are going to use. Find someone who works with carbon fibre and possibly someone who does shoe repairs and then between them you can put a boot together. Yes, it will be a frankenstein but it will be your frankenstein that you know will work and you can mod as required in the future as need be.

Honestly, if you're just looking for something to let you get on the ice, and you don't need protection from pucks, etc. You might be better off with something like this. https://jacksonskate.ca/products/softec-sport-men-v0

FT2 weighs 866 grams, 2X Pro weighs 860 grams, the TF9 weighs 904 grams. So yeah, heavier, but by only 50-ish grams. That weight could be different depending on tongues, holders, and runners used. I’m surprised at the high quality of the TF9s compared to what I’d seen from True in the past. This coming from a guy who’s skated Bauer’s for the last decade and CCMs for the decade+ before that

The 4-0 Leafs win felt like the second to the last nail in the coffin; but they pulled out an upset.

I skated today for the first time in almost 2 1/2 years, thanks to a broken foot and assorted health issues. It was pretty ugly but I was out there.

What curve did you decide to use on that badboy? In all seriousness I would 100% buy one of those, looks awesome!

So the 5030 mailbox is complete! It's a bit over the top, but we are in a very rural area , and it's located in area where it's surrounded by trees. It kind of sneaks up on you when driving. There is about 2 feet in the ground set in concrete to prevent kids like me when I was 18 or so from walking off with it.

Worst elbow pads I have ever seen and it isn't close. They were so garbage...
