  1. I meant the vintage model.
  2. Well hopefully they come out with an intermediate version at some point!
  3. Still too much since I'd need to cut it down. Doesn't matter anyway :)
  4. Won my first ever game playing goal 4-1! Details in my thread: http://modsquadhockey.com/forums/index.php/topic/66097-starting-in-goal-as-an-adult/?p=1016586
  5. AWW yiss! First game finished. All that after getting up this morning at what equates to 2am PT, flying home from Winterfest, getting a 1.5 hr nap, and then playing. We won 4-1 (and the 1 goal against was scored with their guy sitting on top of me - apparently it was my own D-man that caused that, so the goal stood). My team played easily the best I've ever seen them. Really defensive and just picked their spots, instead of trying to force everything. Fantastic backchecks too. I'm sure trying to insulate their rookie goalie had something to do with their play, too ;) Everything felt great. I didn't slip off my stacks at all (tightened the velcro strap behind my knee and that seems to have helped greatly). My only real blooper was coming out and trying to play the puck. That almost ended badly. I'm going to hit a stick time with just my goalie stick and gloves and pass a puck around with a teammate to see if I can get a bit better at that. Couple nice glove saves, kicked the pad out a couple times, and I had one wrister that hit the crossbar behind me. Guy on the other team I know from pickup said "I bet you're kissing your posts!" and I'm like "nah, if it was lower I would have just caught it" ;) haha Man what a great time. I could seriously see myself switching to goal full time!
  6. Best fitting glove I've ever worn. The EK15 is almost the same but a bit beefier.
  7. Nice, love the Nexons!!
  8. haha yup, I'd found both of those pages :)
  9. Looks like the washers are just fine: But, since the tee nuts are supposed to be 6-32 and not 8-32, it's kind of irrelevant since I'll have to return all these anyway. Mcmaster-carr doesn't seem to have bossed weld nuts (non-pronged tee nuts) for 6-32 screws so I'm not sure where to look at this point.
  10. I really don't care for my custom SIDAS. Maybe it was just made poorly.
  11. Thanks! I can't remove the outside wing, as thats what the knee velcro attaches to. I also don't have a top strap... the knee velcro is the only strap I have up there. Keep in mind I have no leather straps on these pads ;) I'll try tightening the knee strap first before anything else. It very well could have been too loose.
  12. Right so... time for an update. Had my fifth pickup session last night. It was actually worse than last week. I was slow, and let a lot of shots in that I really should have had. Just a bad game overall really. A couple things of note: I use my glove, a lot. Too much. At one point while on my knees I fielded a shot along the ice... with my glove. Yea, probably should have used a leg for that one. But like one of the guys said... its whatever you're used to. As a former catcher, it was kind of just programmed to catch everything regardless of where it was. That leads me to my second point. I don't use my legs enough. I know this is just a comfort/technique/flexibility thing but I have a hard time kicking out to stop pucks. I still cant close my five hole which causes me some grief. Mostly in that I end up having to make the first move in order to compensate for not trusting my ability to make five hole saves, which leaves me pretty open for shots elsewhere. Finally, the biggest one. The butterfly itself is fine (besides the inability to get it closed), but if I'm in butterfly and have to open my legs at all (for the purpose of kicking out a save, sliding over to the other post, etc etc etc) I end up slipping off my landing gear. Both knees are pretty badly bruised right now from that, despite the huge knee pads I wear. It actually seems like the knee pads are so big that I don't land with my knee centered on the knee stack, and that's why I slip off. Here's a photo of how big my knee pads are compared to the knee cradle in my pads (sorry for the poor quality, but I had to increase the brightness of the photo after it was taken): I'm considering wearing some volleyball knee pads under those just for some extra padding. Thoughts? My first real game is Sunday. Having to fly home from Winterfest, have a quick nap, and then get out to play my first game in goal. We'll see...
  13. I guess I shouldn't have ordered yet ;)
  14. What size t-nuts and washers? If you're using dimpled, not fanged... are you talking about weld nuts? If so... 90607A100 Screws: http://www.mcmaster.com/#96710a312/=uup9mv Nuts: http://www.mcmaster.com/#90607a100/=uup9f0 Washers: http://www.mcmaster.com/#92141a009/=uupc9e
  15. Yes, have been since about a month before they were released (Thanks Michael9!) Almost exactly the same fit to the Nexon (with some improvements) if you've tried those. In both cases, I typically compare them to a Supreme fitting hand with a Vapor fitting cuff. I came from Warrior Koncept which was a similar shape if you're familiar with those. They're also really stiff brand new, my first game with them I could barely grip my stick. A couple games in and I fell in love.
  16. part # 96710A312 for anyone interested. What T-nuts and washers do you use, Buzz? I <3 McMaster Carr. Bought so much stuff there for my proton pack :)
  17. I'm a 10.5 shoe and wear a 8.5 mako. But again everyone's feet are different.
  18. You'd really need to just try them on.
  19. i'd love to use screws and t-nuts on my goal skates, but really cant justify a huge box of them. If anyone buys a set, let me know :)
  20. Added Eagle pant shell, Bauer warm up pants, Bauer hockey backpack, Stevens Ref pants photos. Also reduced prices on sticks.
  21. cool thanks, I wonder if I can find one online.
  22. Where do you get custom Eagles done?
  23. I was going to get one but I can't use a SR stick
  24. I bought, but its literally just made from white PVC piping. I'm going to replace it with some racking in the garage once I get rid of some stuff. This is the one I got:
  25. Does anyone know: a) What size torx the tendon guard are held on with? b) What size robertson the screws on the holders are?
