Sparx Skate Sharpener - At home sharpener

Cool, thanks. I wouldn’t be taking mine far either. Not like I’d be flying with it or something. -

What would you be using to pad it? -
At some point I really need to learn to skate better. Even if I'm mostly in goalie skates now.

GoPro battery capacity is way too damn small. I got only the first period last night. Brutal.

Maybe, but I’m sure not being in constant pain did more for me than anything else ;) -

I didn't know Bauer and CCM did full custom? I'd only ever seen options for sizing and various other customizations. -

I remember when I got my Makos (I know this is a VH thread but the same thing applies) I had teammates ask me if I took skating lessons because I was much better all of a sudden. I was like “no, I just have skates that don’t hurt for the first time ever...” Amazing what skates that fit perfectly can do for you. The difference between VH and Mako was almost as much as the difference between Mako and everything else. The moment I can justify new skates I’ll be upgrading my VH with Bauer cowlings to True 2-piece. -

You may be able to find a pelican case that will fit the shipping box foam exactly but it will be very expensive. Personally I’d just buy their case if I planned to move the machine around. -

The above post was moved out of the ProSharp thread, located here: There was a bit too much promotion of the Sparx in the post, but it also had some good points regarding comparing the two units so we didn't want to remove it completely. So, we either edit the post or we move it. I chose to move it. -
I just moved the post that Russ made in this thread into the Sparx thread here: There was a bit too much promotion of the Sparx in the post, but it also had some good points regarding comparing the two units so we didn't want to remove it completely. So, we either edit the post or we move it. I chose to move it.

Just ordered my dust cover, and two grinding rings I got for free from people using my referral code :) I chose my standard 1/2" radius and also got a 3/8" radius to give that a shot. I've been meaning to try something with a bit more bite for stronger pushes. Funny side note - they never considered that somebody might have more than one referral code at a time, so I had to have them add the second ring to the order manually! LOL -
Same, the best was Staples but MLG was a close #2 (and Honda being a distant #3) and there's just nothing like pro ice. It's like glass! Also, am I the only one that pictures mini chocolate cakes every time somebody mentions Joe Louis?

Please keep the thread on topic.

Yea the cost of power and cooling isn’t covered by the amount generated.

Not worth the effort anymore.

You don’t need to do any of those things to buy/sell. That’s only if you want to participate in the block chain. No idea on taxes.

I think you meant to quote @Playmakersedge :) -
There is no “gatekeeper”. There is a good video I posted earlier in this thread. I would recommend you watch that.

The reward is the product and whatever other perks depending on how much you pledge. -

I just wanted to mention real quick - there is no such thing as ‘Kickstarter escrow’. When you back something on Kickstarter you aren’t buying a product, you are investing in an idea. Sometimes the product never happens and your money is gone. If they offer refunds, that’s their choice. They certainly aren’t required to. I just wanted to mention that because I often see comments on delayed projects that day things like “it’s been 6 months, I want my money back” from people who clearly don’t understand Kickstarter and it drives me bananas. -

He’s also an engineer, making suggestions or criticisms “as an engineer” pretty meaningless. That said, the fact that Russ was a MSH member is probably 60% of the reason I backed the project on Kickstarter in the first place. -

Let's keep this thread on track, folks. -
Just dropped into the Slack channel. Looking forward to trying this out!

Yeah I don't have enough in it to worry about. I've put in about $2200 all told and its sitting at about $5900 right now. I think what I'm actually going to do is pull my original $2000 out and just play with house money.

I’m in the Apple developer program and would love to give it a whirl. I’ll go ahead and sign up.
