Yeah that's brutal also. This team is 7-1 in our league now, with a ridiculous goal differential. It's gotten pretty silly. Last season the league director actually talked to the other captains about the two guys they picked up that immediately became the best players in the league. We were like... whatever, its only two guys. Shut them down and the team still sucks. But this season they added 4-5 more. I'm hoping that they finally get their championship and then the director does something about it. We'll see. He's usually good about this sort of thing (really enforces the 8 game minimum for playoffs, and just the fact that he asked for input on the first two guys gives me some hope). To be honest I think what bothers me even more about them loading up like this is that OUR team promotes from the rookie league below. We now have 5 regulars that started in rookie league. Keeping in mind that we usually get 7-8 skaters per game, thats a pretty significant chunk. We also skate with the number we have. The only time we bring in subs is when they're considering joining us. Never have one-offs. The other teams will usually grab somebody from the D4 game before ours. I actually kind of like that (we actually beat a team a couple seasons ago with 5 skaters).

Confidence is gone. At a point where I hope they don’t get any shots because I doubt I’ll make the save.

2 or 3 shitty players mixed into a group of D4 guys does not make a D5 team.

Thanks @JR Boucicaut it’s great to get somebody who really knows their stuff giving it a shot. Until now all we had were people like me who don’t truly know what a good sharpening is like (but definitely know what a bad one feels like!) -

Unfortunately no, it’s different. Proprietary holder. Screw is at the back. -

As long as the fit center has access to my existing tracings sure -

Pretty sure you can still submit a tracing directly. I’ve also read that they keep your info on file for future pairs which is good for me when I order my next pair. -

Yea this is probably the worst time of year to order, but even then it’s still a reasonable timeframe. -

I didn't suggest either.

Disclaimer: I understand this is a sensitive topic so please don't take offense to my reply I think I'd seriously start considering adoption at that point.

Where are you getting that the steel is negative pitch? And no, profile has no impact on how the skates are sharpened. -

No reason why not. -

I think the mako comparisons come from the overall comfort factor and heat moldability. As somebody who has worn both the Mako and VH I can tell you that if a Mako goalie skate had existed, I’d probably be in those because they were pretty comfortable. Since they don’t exist, VH was pretty much my only option. As it turned out, it was a good thing VH was my only option because they are miles better than the Mako. Or, put it this way, what the Mako was to the ski boot Bauers, the VH are to the Makos. It’s THAT much better. Also, as somebody who again has worn both, it’s clear that comfort beats looks (or I’d still be in the RBK 8Ks I was in at one point which were a fantastic looking skate) because both the Mako and the version of VH I have were both ugly. I think the True is a great looking skate, though it really is way better in person. The pictures do tend to make them look a bit wonky for some reason. Like they have ankle guards or something. -

Anyone know if Step is going to make blacksteel for the VH goalie holders? -

I think its already happened. You cant buy tuuk from them anymore. But they WILL mount them still if you send your own, from what I was told. -

If I was buying player skates I'd probably put tuuk edge on them. For my goalie skates though, the step holders are fine for me. -

Totally agree there. The Mako was a super ugly skate because of the orange and bright silver heel. Once they toned it down it was much better. Being a VH wearer, I can definitely say the True skates are FAR more refined. My VH have glue all over the place and the white accent piece is coming off (because the stitching is fake, it's actually just glued onto the boot). -

Really? They looked so good at SummerJam. Much nicer than the flashy stuff Bauer and CCM are putting out with crazy graphics. -
Those socks though...

I'd bet neither Doan nor Iginla sign with a team prior to the olympics for just that reason, and then sign somewhere immediately after (assuming somebody wants them and they want to continue).

I just had mine profiled "slight negative", whatever that actually means. That fixed the pitch for me. I'd be more likely to just put Bauer holders on than to shim the front.
