  1. I took a chance on Prostockhockeysticks in summer 2021 and haven't looked back. Two key reasons: Seems like stick prices keep going up every year at retail No more Bauer P14 or similar at retail Coming from custom CCM Trigger 2s, I was super happy with how the first stick played. I'd even go as far as saying it had a little more pop in the shots than the Trigger so I went ahead and ordered 5, and recently went in on another order of 10 since it gets cheaper the more you buy. Value-wise, if I order 5, I can get two for the price of one top end retail. You also don't need to order 5 of the same, which is nice. If anyone's curious this is my config: RH P14, 70 Flex Red Line 375G (also ordered a 350g which I haven't tried yet) Rounded Square Low Kick Grip with Basketball texture Z-tac blade finish For what it's worth, the last high end retails I used were the 1X Lite, 2S, Trigger 2, and Jetspeed and it plays better than all of them IMO.
  2. They also have a TC5 which I can't seem to find any info on
  3. Went from custom CCM Trigger 2's and ordered a single Redline 375g (P14/70 flex). It broke in the blade after ~4 months of playing 2-3 times a week, but honestly thought it would break sooner with how whacks it took. Balance and weight feels great, and shoots with a real nice kick. It took about a game or two to get used to it but after that, the Trigger 2's felt like relics, so I'm pretty happy with them. Placed an order for 5 sticks last week, pretty excited to get them. I've been using a 2S Pro while I wait, and it's okay, but I think the price:value ratio is much better with PSH so I think I'll be sticking to these for a while.
  4. From Canucks Insta. New Vapor stick?
  5. Really happy with how these turned out
  6. Played last night with the inserts in 1X skates without the shim and Superfeet carbon insoles. My main concern was that I'd get a cramping feeling in my toes from having the insert straighten my toes out but nothing like that, pretty comfortable, though I can still curl my toes just fine. Didn't really notice a difference so will need to try with the shims.
  7. my main issue with the speed plates is the arch piece, it digs right into my arches and kills everytime i take a turn so i end up reverting to superfeet carbons.. too bad because the on-ice feel of the speed plates are unbelievable.. has anybody run into the arch-digging problem and found a solution? i've tried re-baking them a few times to try and flatten the arch as much as i could but no luck there
  8. good to know thanks! what temperature did you guys heat the oven to?
  9. can the speedplates be baked at home?
  10. they're legit rbk 520 pants grabbed them when i used to work at the shop :)
  11. FBV I use 90/75 and for BFD I use X7. I've tried 100/50 for FBV but didn't really like it as much.
  12. I found BFD had a lot more grip than FBV. There were times with FBV where I wasn't sure if my edges were going to grip or not. Here http://blackstonesport.com/technology.cfm they say When trying the FBV, a skater should understand that the feel on the first use will be different, but then after a few minutes of warm-up, the transition will be effortless and the advantages and speed of the FBV will be apparent quickly. My personal experience - this is very true. I've been using FBV since before it was available to the general public. I'm well passed the transition.. BFD is much better in my opinion.
