  1. I am frustrated with how perfect my CCM's felt for a year and a half and now they absolutely mangle my feet... at least when True's broke down I could still skate with them back to back.
  2. Balance has nothing to do with gym time and strength. I'll take a nicely balanced 400 gram stick over a super blade light 360 gram stick any day.
  3. As I just went back and have been looking through my old PSHS models, I would take a look at the custom Red Lines with Super Round shaft Low Kicks with retail texture on the blade. That feels really pingy like my Vapors and more so than the new VX and my other Redline. It might be because I have the silver carbon base, but that puck feel is probably what you are looking for. I believe my blade is the retail finish though that doesn't look available in that customizer but I think can be done.
  4. If you are just doing it for mostly coaching, why not get a custom Bauer in the curve you want so you get exactly the feel you want? Then try out some of the more budget sticks and see if you can mimic that feeling in something else? The AS3 Pro previously was the stick that felt the closest for pinginess to the Vapors, but that changed with the newer models.
  5. You are going to get a bunch of different and wrong answers from people when you ask this since 99% of people don't understand blade feel and stiffness. Hockeystickman has a few different sticks, they have their Pro Blackout and Pro Custom Blackout (which are made by Prostockhockeysticks). I used a Pro Blackout and the blade felt completely dead and like you'd expect from a budget stick. Prostockhockeysticks depends on what blade material you use, the stock one is pretty "standard." Think CCM Jetspeed before the 7, current Warrior offerings, Sherwood, etc. Vapor is a VERY VERY pingy blade. The closest you will find to that is the Hoapa X-Stiff but it is hard to recommend those sticks with how many bad experiences for durability I have heard of is. But... I think you have to ask yourself if you actually care about the puck feel to the point of where you have to have a Vapor like feeling and what part of the feeling do you want. Do you want the feeling while shooting? Is it the stiff feeling you want or the pingy feeling, these are both different things. Stiffness is if you can feel the blade opening up or flexing while shooting, pingyness is the vibrations and dampening. When taking hard shots, the pingyness feeling is more similar between a lot of the brands and models of sticks. But passing and stickhandling is where the pingyness makes a big difference.
  6. I saw this on reddit and you already got a bunch of feedback there to go off of. But to add, I would bake them first just to see, but I would fear that isn't enough volume and you will be getting lace bite in them once that tongue breaks down a bit. These are supposed to be fully custom skates and your depth looks very off. But again... you should bake them just to ensure your heel is being pulled back completely.
  7. True PX lines of goalie gear is the top of the industry in quality, only Brian's comes close to it and even then True's performance aspect is a notch above.
  8. Would like prefer to stay in Grafs? Graf still makes skates but I am unfamiliar with the models and would would be closest to what you currently have for fit.
  9. True is changing names on everything. They had a survey out a few months back looking for different names for everything. Smoke will be one of the lines which has been seen for the new sticks already.
  10. HSM had a Novium taper with a QR6 Pro graphic surprisingly
  11. It isn't confirmed that it is PRO, and I tried to get it confirmed and he won't... but if you use logic it is obviously a PRO stick.
  12. Maybe he is sick of having to wear new custom graphic skates every 5 weeks haha. Break one pair in "HERE IS A NEW PAIR FOR YOU THANKS."
  13. I replied to your PM on reddit, but never saw the Catalyst comment. I found the Cats to play closer to Vapor than Supremes do so I wouldn't recommend someone going straight to that. Any Supreme pro stock model will be your best bet, just find the cuff that you like that is closest to your NXG.
  14. Were they baked before you tried them on?
  15. So what exactly is wrong with the XF Pro? Tacks shin pads have been basically the go to for shot blockers for a long time now for a reason.
  16. Cupollos always had some super sketchy Ski and Snowboard rentals where everyone local asked how they stayed open and made any more. They'd have the lowest prices and often never requested the gear back afterwards. Lots of people around ehre had interesting Jayco pads and I still see the pants from time to time. Some of the pads had lightning on them and I was always jealous as a kid.
  17. I would ask for photos, because those photos aren't the PPROC that have been posted before. Here is another pair that show off the V10 I mentioned: https://sidelineswap.com/gear/hockey/pants-girdles-shells/player-pants/8807330-ccm-new-senior-women-s-small-mhpproc-custom-hockey-pants-pro-stock?srsltid=AfmBOorEd-rJCLZeQQ57a8zUjDjmY6L4Afmjsb6jg0GCFDPhXD8fWzcJ
  18. Are you talking about the Perron pants? If so they are based on the V10 model.
  19. I would stand to ask when has Bauer made a choice that has ever been good for consumers? Actually them not releasing 3 stick lines every year was a good move 😂
  20. Lots of pros make awful decisions though and their thoughts shouldn't necessarily matter. Like pro goalies that take a sweet stick to a fresh sharpening job to "finish it off" I'd say Crosby and McDavid are prime examples of "newer gear isn't necessarily better." We've seen Bauer go from full composite outsoles to a mix of plastic and composite outsoles. So sometimes their ideas of upgrades might not really have the positive effect for everyone. If I could go back to an FT1 or earlier stiffness skate I would in a heartbeat.
  21. I've just tilted the skate manually and adjusted that way... but if this is easier it would be a nice to have.
  22. Trying to get my hands on them...
  23. HGTK are straight up the retail pant with a different cover. So that would be an option for people looking for more light weight and less overall protection. But they aren't really lighter than the UCLP... But certainly fit looser.
  24. Yeah, I stuck with the Quad 1 for me. My hollow changes based on the time of year and steel I am using but I didn't deviate off of what I used previously.
  25. It took me 2 skates to stop falling on my face going from a stock to a Quad 1 on backwards transitions. I'd say stick with it and keep seeing if you can adjust to it first.
