  1. Story of my life man. Hence the venting post.
  2. BA in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration
  3. Extremely worried about what I am going to do in 5 months when I graduate. I have no idea what I want to do, and I really don't want to end up being a barista at Starbucks. I won't have much student debt (15k or so), but it's still another thing to stress over. I see my peers that KNOW what they want to do, and it makes me jealous. I have a strong desire to be successful, but that only gets you so far today.......The opportunities aren't what they once were (i.e The Tech boom of the 90's/2000's). Everything just seems so dreary and depressing (which is why I don't watch the news anymore) UGH.
  4. If they aren't what you expected, VH will fix/adjust them for you. From what I have seen on here, their CS is EXCELLENT.
  5. Yes, the number code corresponds to the account of the custom skater. I believe is 6-7 digits.
  6. Damn, I wanted to be the first to do this! How was the mount of the Magnesium frame? They look great!
  7. Reminds me of Seinfield..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8TnhNxKNlU
  8. If you have a Bauer/Mission frame, no hole widening was even needed. Fit like a glove. I did one of the conversions for a member on here...
  9. I guarantee you someone was trying to stash it away until they had the cash for it....
  10. Thanks. Yeah we will see how the coppers hold up. I don't think it will be a problem though. And yes, I had to do the same thing with Sprungs. They needed much harder wheels....
  11. Honestly, I felt like I lost speed the Sprungs, so I stopped using them. And I personally mounted them, and I just chose to use coppers for the strength. Some of the holes were really close, so I felt coppers were necessary. I have since epoxied all of the holes.
  12. No shims. Everything layed relatively flat. The holes were close though.
  13. A lot of work. Not completely finished yet. Just an interesting fact, these skates weigh in a 1094 grams each. Stupid light. This is compared to my Bauer X:60 Skates, which weigh 1217 grams each. ~125g difference.
  14. Didn't have the white/orange addictions for the fronts, but oh well. They feel phenominal
  15. Unfortunately, I will be leaving on July 25th.....Have a final to take the next day LOL. I play from July 18th-24th.
  16. Just got mine today and am glad I went with them. Holy cow, they are the most comfortable skate I have EVER put on my feet. The comparison to running shoes couldn't be more correct. When I took them out of the oven and put them on for the first time, it felt like I was putting my feet inside my Asics. Can't wait to skate on them this weekend!
  17. Got a call today from an old coach to play in the DI division at NARCh Finals in Toronto (The top Roller Hockey tournament around), which means I will be playing against some of the best players in the world. While I am extremely excited, I am also very nervous, as I haven't quite played at this level before. I think the most humbling part of the entire moment was the fact that someone had enough confidence in my game to give me the opportunity. Really makes me feel good, as I consistently doubt myself/put myself down. Being called "Cool, calm and collected" really put a huge grin on my face.
  18. Wait, so if a skate isn't as stiff as a cast, then it isn't "stiff"? Oh okay, that clearly makes sense. You guys serious?
  19. Just a little bit of flex from the Mako II...I think I need to move up to the 85.
  20. A magnesium frame will crack, but it is highly unlikely that it will bend. The aluminum the skate manufacturers use is unlikely to crack, but will bend.
  21. It's not all about the weight difference though. It's about the rigidity. The aluminum will bend, while the magnesium will not.
