  1. Not that I’m in the need for new skates, and historically the Jetspeed line has not fit my feet well, but I’ll admit the features of this new model look very compelling. Really want to check out the tongue and possibly mod it for True skates. And as much as I dislike the new logo, these look way better than the horrendous FT4s in every aspect. Only wish they would have gone *down* in flex, not up. ASVs are already too stiff and now the FT6 is the same stiffness?!
  2. Thanks for the new video. I think they *look* like they have much more ventilation compared to the previous gen. The FT4 pros ran really hot for me so I went back to CL shoulder pads. Sounds like the FT6 pro isn’t really any better so that saves me money! Wouldn’t the bend in the padding help contour to your body? That was my initial reaction. But I do agree with you that if all that’s creating a gap is how stuff is sewn, the aer-tec ‘system’ will inevitably stretch out and lose whatever benefits they may have offered.
  3. Got pics of the gloves you’re trying to modify?
  4. Same. All I can think about is…
  5. I’d you went UP a half size from CCM, these skates are pretty much guaranteed to be a half size too big. Cats should be the same size as CCM/Bauer. The TF line was a half size *smaller*
  6. Huh. Interesting idea. That could probably work for the liners. Thanks, I’ll give it a try
  7. I have a pair of Bauer 1X shins that I absolutely love. Curv composite, the flexible piece at the ankle, and solid coverage on the back of the calves all while staying pretty streamlined. The kneecaps and shells are still in great condition, but the removable liner has seen better days and I’m wondering if anyone has ever replaced their liners. If so, what did you do? I tuck my tongues and the lower part of the inside of the shins is beat up. Has anyone repaired this area? Every tutorial I’ve come across online seems to focus on straps or cracked kneecaps
  8. I’m more interested in the gloves in the background! Love the colorway
  9. So basically like all CCM products? Lol
  10. The PP90/9K the OP posted has additional kidney and rear thigh protection (more than warrior girdle shells). I know what you mean about the fabric of Warrior vs CCM. IMO the CCM girdle shells are pretty much the same material as the pants
  11. Colors can always look different depending on camera, lighting, white balance, etc. That said, I typically prefer girdle shells with girdles, pant shells with pants. If what you have are pants, you'll likely want the PP10s, but everyone has different preferences

  13. Happen to have a seller’s link? Looked on eBay and Amazon but can’t find anything. Found a random website that sells sheets but they start at $40 which seems crazy
  14. I use a CCM pro jock with garter clips. Can wear it with any setup
  15. Thanks for the run down. I typically wear pro stock socks with Kevlar backing, warroad long sleeve pants, and short wool socks for my feet
  16. I’m all for improved breathability so I’ll be curious to see if the art-tec really does keep you cooler on the ice. Don’t need new shins or elbows ATM, but those two pieces interest me the most
  17. Understood, but how would you categorize all the skates on PSH or that have popped up on SLS? True deciphered the code at the bottom of the boot as EE. Just wondering if they would also make E or if they consider E and EE as the same
  18. Random question for True custom skate experts… do they consider E and EE the same/interchangeable? Or do they actually make a wide and wider boot? Suppose this would apply mostly to Cat Pros vs SVH customs
  19. Found it on Amazon after being directed there from a company that makes the stuff. Bought the 3” for the exact reason you mentioned. The 1” and 2” sizes seem more easily available, but wouldn’t cover the full heel of the Cats. I’m in the states but could always look into shipping up to Canada. Not sure if it would be easy to fold the tape to ship it in a regular envelope vs rolling the tape
  20. Ordered some 8 mil thick, 3” wide helicopter tape. Only came in a length of 30’ and a pair of skates should need 3-ish feet max. Will have plenty left over in case anyone would like to buy some for Trues or any other skate for that matter

    Cages

Is the new cage based off profile II or III?
  22. Ah gotcha. Apologies that I was mistaken
  23. Curious if you had to provide a proof of purchase or anything? Didn’t you buy these off SLS a while back? It would be nice to have an additional layer of protection seeing as my last pair cracked
  24. Might be worth emailing hockey tron and see if they have any not listed on their site. They seem to be a supplier of firstar now. Closest I’ve found are the baby blue Pens winter classic and a Youth jersey; both of which I’m guessing you’ve already come across
  25. ITR Hockey will be able to do it. They have a number of examples on their IG page. https://www.itrhockey.com/repair.html Alternatively, if you don't want to send your gloves in and are okay with a sticker, I've come across a few options. A number of teams like the Oilers, or in this example, the Barracuda, use stickers. Stick Bandits is one option. I've used their stickers in the past for name bars and when you get them at a discount using one of their sales, they're a good value. The glove stickers are more of a sticker, but they seem to hold up well. https://www.stickbandits.com/hockey-glove-stickers The second option is from Pad Skinz. These stickers are actually applied on top of their pant skin for maximum adhesion. They also have a few different options which I'll admit is somewhat frustrating as they're not mentioned on the website. https://padskinz.ca/shop/custom-skinz/custom-pantskinz/glove-numbers/ Here are two gloves of mine, the left is from Stick Bandits, the right from Pad Skinz. I've actually got an updated Pad Skinz that I have yet to install which are smaller and have a less bold font on a matte background vs gloss. For the price, you can't beat Stick Bandits. I prefer the smaller/less obtrusive patches they offer, but am not the biggest fan of the gloss background and don't think the adhesive will hold up for more than a couple of washes. The Pad Skinz are more expensive and I had to order multiple times because it wasn't until after I ordered that they informed me they could make the font smaller/less bold or that they offered a matte background. But in the end, these are far more durable and are what I'd recommend.
