  1. I don't know what the cutoff is for the size holder on the two skates... but I'm guessing that the Vapor got the larger holder because it is a wide width while the Flexlite cutoff was the next size up. Oddly enough the Flexlites would be the wider skate. I know with older Bauer skates a 10.5D on a wider skate model* or wide width would be a 296 but they changed that for some reason with the one95 and the new Supreme line.. probably a holdover from the one90 line. *To clarify, a one95 is 10.5D should be a 296 holder but a Vapor 10.5D should be 288, while a Vapor 10.5EE should be 296.
  2. So you want Bauer to sell it to you at their cost? Why didn't they think of that? They could sell a ton of skates if they gave you $50 plus a free pair of TotalOnes too! You might be on to something!
  3. The best thing I added for back protection was a padded shirt. It looks and feels like I'm wearing nothing but I'm more protected than any other shoulder pad I've used.
  4. Hopefully, it doesn't end your playing days but I think this story should serve as a valuable lesson to folks out there. A few lessons: *Don't play injured. *Find another outlet to release stress. I swear I'm going to go absolutely nuts if I don't find something to keep my mind off of things quick. *When it rains, it pours. *Always save your crutches/braces/pain meds.
  5. No but I heard of someone doing it in a parking garage! hah
  6. I've had an injured right leg for about 2 months, Ive been playing hurt but took a week off because it was really bad. I was plenty able to play, it was just painful. I tried playing, beat a guy to the puck and spun off to protect the injured leg.. I get light contact to the back and the toe of my skate gets stuck against the wall. Knee and body keep moving right, ankle is stuck going left. *POP* now I'm on crutches, again. Last time I hurt my knee this bad ended my baseball/football days. Pile that onto everything that has happened the past 3 months for me and well... Life sucks. :-/
  7. Used pro gear is anything but stink free, that's why I didn't buy those elbow pads. Luckily, a member here helped me out with my much needed right elbow floating slash guard:
  8. The PPF glove is slimmer than the average Eagle glove. Same with the X72 and Fusion before that. Well those are slimmer but not as slim as the PPF, IMO. You could add the X50, X6 into that category too. :)
  9. The PPF glove is slimmer than the average Eagle glove.
  10. haha, yeah I haven't seen a second pair of Eagle Z-airs. ;) Nice 1st gen z-airs, too bad they aren't split fingers. :( Still nice nevertheless, sweet cuff!
  11. One of the guys on my team said he was watching a game the other night and they were talking about it. He told his wife that he had been skating on it for almost a year and she didn't believe him. Some a month or so ago asked me if I'd ever heard of it...I said..."Been skating on it since I went to Novi last year". Then I had to backtrack and explain what THAT meant! I've gotten those questions a lot over the past year. I've gotten pretty good at explaining what FBV does, haha. :P
  12. Very odd, is it HD foam or is it kind of spongy? I can't see why he'd go without plastic inserts.
  13. You sure there are no plastic inserts? They sandwich them between two pieces of foam, squeeze it from the sides to be sure.
  14. I would have bought those Tavares gloves a couple days ago but they don't have the right palm, so I passed. <_<
  15. Very classy move by a team that proved they were classy about the situation all season. Did he play enough to get his pension? I hope so. MLB does a pretty good job of taking care of it's players, in my opinion. I had a friend that blew out his shoulder but he did qualify for his pension. With the pension he was able to take care of his two-year-old son and his wife while going to college to get a real job. Without that pension who knows how they'd get by.
  16. Prospal was the last to wear that style Z-air but he didn't have solid print for the Easton logo. The last two I remember with those gloves were Prospal and Boyle before he went to the standard 4-roll. Boyle's had solid print for the Easton logo.
  17. They changed the material on the cuff extension, it's also a little shorter I believe.
  18. I've never seen him use the 4-roll glove. My Richards first-gen z-airs don't have a digital overlay.
  19. When was it stolen? A pair of Avery's popped up on eBay a couple days ago, doubtful it's your pair but it's worth a look.
  20. We've officially found the end-all of the eco-friendly cars. Here is the Hammerhead Eagle iThrust
  21. I'm one of those guys that like short elbows and short cuffs but the bruises piling up have been getting annoying. I can't stand the feel of long cuffs and don't like the stiffness of long elbow pads. I've been looking for a Jofa floating slash guard but came up with a quick fix that some of you might like. Problem: I had an extra 5044 elbow pad from when I received two rights, she later sent the left pad and let me keep the extra right pad. So I took out the plastic on the upper piece(bicep guard), used some sandpaper on the part where I wanted to add some velcro and attached velcro(black pieces, obviously. I cut out the liner from the elbow pad and cut/glued(flexible fabric glue) it to the inside of the plastic so it's comfortable with no rubbing. ...and problem solved. Besides glue setting time, it took all of 3 minutes to do. Simple fix to a rather annoying problem. This is a temporary fix for me but I can see this lasting a long time.
  22. Shouldn't you change your 'tar? lol, way to rain on his parade.
  23. I get annoyed with craigslist too. I had a pair of 9K gloves up for sale. It clearly said "PRICE IS FIRM" in bold print, in a larger sized text and capitalized. I got 3 emails from the same guy practically begging me to lower the price, I said no each time. Two weeks later, I relisted the item. The guy emails me again asking me to lower the price, I said no. He bought them from me for the original price a few days later. I should have charged him extra.
  24. Red Sox fans(in general) tend to just want to make sure everyone knows that they are Red Sox fans and that whatever team isn't the Red Sox, suck. Obviously, there are fans from every team that feel that way too... but the Red Sox fans seem to have cornered that market. I don't want you to think that I meant all Red Sox fans, it's just the fans I've known and dealt with. I know a few Yankees fans that are the same way. *shrug*
