I would say if your ordering roller you would be safe. Just have it marked on the sheet new tounge. The rest should all be new. -
The site will be redone. I do the tests in Toronto now. There are 2 different ways it's now done. Here is a better updated explanation and name as it's now being used for all sports with footwear. Golf, Track, Football ETC.. Sport Stability Systems of “Reddog Hockey” founder Patrick Kelly After following in the footsteps of his father “Red” and playing on an elite track in hockey, Kelly discovered his gift of speed. While playing USports (formerly CIS) hockey for McGill University and studying aeronautical engineering, Kelly decided to make the switch to speed skating, eventually competing in thirteen national championships, four world championships and two Olympics, with best race finishes of 1st, 4th and 6th respectively. It was during the preparation time honing his skating technique and skates, that Kelly began to find unique solutions to stability issues: issues that are also found in the field of aeronautics where Kelly had worked as an engineer on advanced missile systems of the US military. Following the end of his elite competition and being highly proficient and knowledgeable on all forms of skating, Kelly stayed in elite skating sports by working with NHL players, elite speed skaters, and figure skaters. After witnessing the instability of almost all his clients, Kelly realized that these sports needed a systematic method of reducing the instability. After more than ten years of R & D, Kelly had developed this method. While working with the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club as its skating consultant, Kelly was able to prove the applicability and worth of the method by having NHL players use it successfully. Now the method has been refined and brings even more stability, with over 50 NHL players benefiting this year, including players like Jeff Skinner, James Van Riemsdyk, Zach Parise, Auston Matthews, Max Pacioretty, and Paul Stastny.

iN THE VIDEO THE STORES RECEIVED oops caps lock sorry. Scott explains the difference in materials and that using this new one the skate is lighter and as strong or stronger. So yes it would be a great skate to switch to now. Also, the tongue is amazing my son is 6`1`190 at 15 and growing so fast he had a hard time bending but he got samples of the new tongue midseason and it was an immediate change and improvement. I would say 3 to 5 degrees more forward flexion available. With that and the Hockey Stability System used (formerly Red Dog Hockey Boost), he has gone from the worst single A team in his age group to a top 6 AA team and playing AAA summer hockey. He is 3rd in scoring on the 3rd place team for summer hockey. And he is doing hardly any extra off and on ice training. He can move better and sees the ice better now. (this part kills me he needs to start..LOL) -

I am going to check on the patent. Might have a patent pending hence why at this time only available through True Dealers. -

Up close it looks liken no other skate out there. And the blade comes out so much easier and locks in better than anything else. And I'm a huge fan of the new XS holder. I would have said the XS would have taken over if this one had not have come out. I know @Nicholas G agrees. The only issue I can see at this early time is that it may only be available from a True Dealer.......but I am not sure that's set in stone yet. -

No its not just the holder. The boot is lighter by a lot. They use a new style of carbon fiber that is lighter and stronger. The new tongue is lighter and more protective as well as way more comfortable and allows even more forward flexion than a traditional tongue. The new holder and quick release blade system are lighter with a faster and more reliable quick release system (Plus other cool features of the blade and holder) All in all the boot holder is now 110 grams lighter! Details available July 15th. -

The Word from the PHATS show is a resounding approval of the new holder overall from the NHL trainers. Seeing as most still have stock on Bauer mainly I would think it will be a year before there is a large change. Got to sharpen a pair tonight, one of my pro clients. Wow.. easiest of any quick release with very little effort to take the blade out. And there is no way that thing is falling out. If I didn't get in trouble I'd post. But WOW... its actually better than I thought it would be. You guys are in for a treat. !! -

I'd rather not be the one to say all the details. If Rob says go ahead I will but it does use some of them and there is new steel by Step yes. Of course the others I'm sure will copy it unless True decides to do a Bauer thing and Patent it. -

I did it myself. Of course all the skates ibhave fixed like that are older than yours. -

The glue from Nash will fix that easy. Had it happen to an older pair. Hasn't come back apart. That will have to be remade if it goes back. -

Sure.. but that has nothing to do with the intended use at all. Its pretty funny that shop just completely ripped of Troy and made up the whole lace bite blurb. It maybe a side benefit but far from the scientific purpose it was invented for. 😊 -

Has nothing to do with lace bite. It's a Flex 55 lace extender for maximum forward flex -
Sparx Skate Sharpener - At home sharpener

Oh I know. I just didnt kkow how to tag both of you. No biggie. It's just he has me all wrong. I love automated machines. But they have to work with me not against me. I'm sure Russ can dig up some of those original IG and Twitter posts that got all of us pro shop guys up in arms. Some of us would have liked to work with this and Make it even better mouse trap but that times past. And if you think about what he said where would they get the money to make Pro Shop machines... if I want all the market share I would be going after both revenue streams not just the one. Hence again go to the shops first ask them what they want in a machine and build it from there. But hey just a business idea. I'm mean it's not like Blademaster or Blackstone and Pro sharp dont have Home machines already. -

oldtrainerguy28 replied to tamtamg's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Nailed it???? Not even close. I am all for automation. Can't wait to get a machine to work the way I want it to. Nothing out there yet I think is good enough. As for training for 30 mins and let them go? Never my program was weeks long lots of practice and they had to sharpen there own skates first before a client. But thanks for thinking I'm 30 years older than I am. Hahahaha And sorry not sure how I copy the guy you copied. But anyway. -
So here is my question. Regardless of system are we trying to make a profile fit the skate and skater? Or should we be trying to find a profile to best suits the player, size height weight arena they play in skating style? I'm going for option 2.

Sparx Skate Sharpener - At home sharpener
oldtrainerguy28 replied to tamtamg's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Simple, in the beginning go to the top Pro shops and get them on board to help promote the product give them sample machines and get the feed back how to improve it. Then build a pro model and home use one. Have the better shops sell them as well even train them to repair If needed (same as they do now in Boston) and the shops can carry wheels and so on. Then those shops could rent them as well as sell extra steel profiles and so on. Instead the initial sales pitch was that shops all suck and this is a far better mouse trap than any human. So kinda hard as a shop now to embrace a company that says you suck. -

Now if Sparx was smart they could have worked with shops to start and had them on board to start and done this from the beginning. Then Pro shops could have got the steel and profiling business as well as maintaining the machine and made money off the locals that may not have come to them in the first place. This is actually a good idea. I would also bet they would have made a Pro Model long ago and worked with shop owners that actually know what there doing to better the machine to work on heavier loads and do more than it does already. -

Only had it happen once in 900 pairs. And it was a father son thing. Dad got sons and sons dads!
