  1. I did it myself. Of course all the skates ibhave fixed like that are older than yours.
  2. The glue from Nash will fix that easy. Had it happen to an older pair. Hasn't come back apart. That will have to be remade if it goes back.
  3. Sure.. but that has nothing to do with the intended use at all. Its pretty funny that shop just completely ripped of Troy and made up the whole lace bite blurb. It maybe a side benefit but far from the scientific purpose it was invented for. 😊
  4. Has nothing to do with lace bite. It's a Flex 55 lace extender for maximum forward flex
  5. Oh I know. I just didnt kkow how to tag both of you. No biggie. It's just he has me all wrong. I love automated machines. But they have to work with me not against me. I'm sure Russ can dig up some of those original IG and Twitter posts that got all of us pro shop guys up in arms. Some of us would have liked to work with this and Make it even better mouse trap but that times past. And if you think about what he said where would they get the money to make Pro Shop machines... if I want all the market share I would be going after both revenue streams not just the one. Hence again go to the shops first ask them what they want in a machine and build it from there. But hey just a business idea. I'm mean it's not like Blademaster or Blackstone and Pro sharp dont have Home machines already.
  6. Nailed it???? Not even close. I am all for automation. Can't wait to get a machine to work the way I want it to. Nothing out there yet I think is good enough. As for training for 30 mins and let them go? Never my program was weeks long lots of practice and they had to sharpen there own skates first before a client. But thanks for thinking I'm 30 years older than I am. Hahahaha And sorry not sure how I copy the guy you copied. But anyway.
  7. So here is my question. Regardless of system are we trying to make a profile fit the skate and skater? Or should we be trying to find a profile to best suits the player, size height weight arena they play in skating style? I'm going for option 2.
  8. Simple, in the beginning go to the top Pro shops and get them on board to help promote the product give them sample machines and get the feed back how to improve it. Then build a pro model and home use one. Have the better shops sell them as well even train them to repair If needed (same as they do now in Boston) and the shops can carry wheels and so on. Then those shops could rent them as well as sell extra steel profiles and so on. Instead the initial sales pitch was that shops all suck and this is a far better mouse trap than any human. So kinda hard as a shop now to embrace a company that says you suck.
  9. Now if Sparx was smart they could have worked with shops to start and had them on board to start and done this from the beginning. Then Pro shops could have got the steel and profiling business as well as maintaining the machine and made money off the locals that may not have come to them in the first place. This is actually a good idea. I would also bet they would have made a Pro Model long ago and worked with shop owners that actually know what there doing to better the machine to work on heavier loads and do more than it does already.
  10. My answer?? Oh it was simple... they were in the wrong box..
  11. Only had it happen once in 900 pairs. And it was a father son thing. Dad got sons and sons dads!
  12. Awesome a True dealer that doesnt push the product. 😜 Being one of the first this was an issue I knew would happen because some stores although wanted to be dealers to say they were, just didnt bother selling any or very little after they got it. I just think it's kinda funny as CCM basically ripped off the True program using the same company and bauer's well it is what it is. Anyway back to the True skate thread enough of the hijacking! Hahahaha
  13. Interesting. Where is your friends shop? Is he True dealer? I would get color and tongue embroidery.
  14. So every skate breaks down and I believe the comment was that the CCM skates has show more wear. Never said they were more broken down. However at 3 times a week for the period of time your friend has had them they cant be as solid as they day he got them, but I think we get the point. 😉
  15. Well if you are close I would just go back to pick them up. I'd go to Brian's!
  16. Well if you are close I would just go back to pick them up.
  17. You can but they have to be shipped to the store of purchase then shipped to you.
  18. I can tomorrow my son has them on his now. Look good!! With engraved step steel. Offering that starting in July.
  19. No, I do not believe they are actually. And please do not take it as a "Hey I know more than you message in the last post". It's just we have been trying to figure out how to best test for rotational impact for the last 5 years and I believe. And we have still not come up with a conclusive test to get the measurements! When your playing with someone's brain you want to get it right and not second guess or use football head forms on hockey helmets. Hence why nobody at CSA or HECC fins this study has any validity!
  20. Here is the issue. Nobody's brain or skulls are the same. There brain trauma is all different. So ok matter the helmet foam construction or anything. None of it .matters in the end because if the person wearing the helmet has had 5 conks vs subject B that has had zero the brain damage coukd actually be equal because subject B didnt drink near enough water and was actually more severely injured. There is absolutely no way a helmet can do anything to alter the outcomes of brain damage in a hockey incident. I were talking fractured skulls... ok then we can discuss best product for dollars. Concussions. Nothing....
  21. @Leif to answer your question yes I do have scientific data to support this. I am on the CSA board that conducts the saftey tests for helmets. I got in involved because I am also on the board of Stopconcussions a not for profit with Ketih and Wayne Primeau. Also was the first brain donor for the Canadian Brain bank similar to the one in Boston. Although not a medical Dr I have had 13 concussions documented and almost died from my last major one playing Football in 1985 for the Slough Silverbacks of the Budweiser league in the UK. I feel these experiences and board positions give me an adequate amount of understanding of how helmets work as well as what can and cannot prevent a concussion. Example: 4 years ago one of my players wearing a top helmet was hit with a shoulder and not even the hard cap in the side of the head as she turned to go up the ice. She was knocked out. She didnt skate again till October and didnt return to play till November and this was in April. Another time Jennifer Botteril was playing shinny as I was the equipment manager and Raffi Torres was out there with some buddies. Jen turned up ice and ran into him all by accident bit she was out for 2 months. Helmets do not prevent concussions. Period.
  22. Really?? Have you seen some of the new ones?? Not to mention rotational impacts usually have zero to do with helmets. They are caused by reckless players applying dirty hits.
  23. Actually VN at testing would do better on slower impacts as it absorbs more energy in a localized area. Epp is better at high impact. How many times in a game do you get hit in the head with a puck vs how many times in a game would a guy fore arm your head in the glass. Pucks need EPP forearms need VN.
