  1. I am a little biased here however I have to say that I have had zero issues with over 60 pairs ordered. I had one pair the kid grew out of before we got them Dad's fault for not paying for 3 weeks and it was September so it was a 4 week wait at the time. 1. Couldn't get foot in: It says right on the paper in the box and on the website do not try and put the skate on without heating? So wondering why you would try it? 2. Liner color: Yah gotta say thats not to good but personally only ordered one pair of skates with wick the rest clarino all have lasted with no wear at all so far. So personally like the clarino better. 3. Double Stitching: The boot is all carbon fiber where would they double stitch? There isnt one NHL player with double stitching cant see a reason for it except looks? 4. There could have been extra carbon fiber in the lacing section you wouldnt be able to see it although it would have made the lacing area even stiffer so realllly hard to get skate on then. I really have to say that in my opinion that for a skate company to have as little issues as I have seen on here compared to the other companies stock and pro models that some seem to be looking to knock them down. (VH that is). All top end skates from every other company are 900 bucks so that issue is not even a discussion. And for quality compared to most hands down a better skate. However some statements are very true. Design: Yes I think there could be some improvement on the look of the skate for sure. Fit and Finish: Has there been a couple pairs I thought could have looked a little better...yup... but the skate is what it is and I have seen faults and issues on pro return skates that were new and stock top of the line skates with blade issues and alignment problems so there not alone. All in all i firmly believe they are the best made skate around right now by a mile and will only get better. If your in Sydney you can get them done at Skaters Network they have the piece for sure saw it there last year at the Classic games when fixing one of the player skates. Also have one in Melbourne at the old Ice House.
  2. New to the VH Team..... Pavel Bure, Rick Vaive and soon to be ordered 3 more former big pro's. Word is spreading on how comfortable they are!
  3. Why would you need that many tracings? I really think this is way to much work. If your really concerned you can not make a good tracing simply go to an orthodics store and get a crush box and match your drawings to the crush box measurements? Ass for the oven....I would turn it up past 180 and then turn it off!!!!!! I have a pair of skates in my shop that someone did not and they are lets say...ruined! (also make sure the towel is damp so it wont catch fire incase there is some residue from something else you may have used it for that was flammable). They rest of the info is very helpful. If you are near a fit center make sure you try and head into try a pair on so you can say what you liked and what felt best about the size you tried on.
  4. Sorry I was not there today, just in Detroit with my girls team. There good eh??
  5. Wonder if it has anything to do with possible endorsement issues? (Any of the players getting money from the former skate company? Hence switching back?)
  6. Those are Step Extreme blades in a boot that is "SIMILAR" to Ryan Millers Boot. As the Extreme Step is not allowed in the NHL.
  7. Chadd, Getting on in age now and being married for almost 25 years I would not want to be in your shoes. The loss from what I read was a devastating one. Nothing can be said to make someone feel better at a time like this. No matter what when you lose a loved one there can be nothing but sympathy and compassion. You have a large family here and lots of support along with your family there. So sorry for your loss. Jeff
  8. It is just more for the guys that have tried on "everything" and cant seem to find a fit. Gives them a little comfort knowing it will work when they are being ordered.
  9. This is why the Fit Centers work so much better than just sizing them yourself. Of course you can do it that's totally up to an individual. However at the Fit Centers you can try on the skates and get an idea. I have both tongues so you can see and feel the difference. Now being a 3 hr drive it may not be worth your while but then again having a feel for the expense of the skate is not a bad option. And as for the food well it goes without saying they have some tasty places around there. As for the feel of the hollow and profile. 100% of the pro guys I worked with this summer had to reduce the profile and go a little less sharp as they really felt the boot dig in and really could feel the edges. I personally now skate on them and can not believe how comfy they are and I just use a stock Step Blade with a 90/75 and feels great and lasts. On a side note it really helps Rob if you have tried on a skate to pick the right last to build your skate off of. Make a weekend out of it and enjoy your new skates when you get them.
  10. Looks like the Jets grey they have been using on the Jets skates!
  11. Pretty awesome look! Similar to one of my kids orders! A little less bright in the orange. Why so rounded on the heel though??
  12. More like the old Bauer "Superfit"
  13. https://twitter.com/StikboyzJorg/status/643924139640778752 And now Carey Price!! Those look awesome!
  14. As of a few hours ago Wick is now with Warrior. I am thinking it did not sit well about the VH skates and having them dressed like Bauer's. And yes she was the only female Bauer athlete. butttttt no longer. https://twitter.com/wick_22/status/640275620853710848
  15. Were did the picture go?? http://www.gettyimages.ca/detail/news-photo/hayley-wickenheiser-of-team-canada-skates-up-the-ice-news-photo/461681539 here is a great one in action!
  16. I kinda like that the holders are mounted straight on both skates, and they are not warped. As for a little extra glue here and there?? I am sure if you got past the flash on some of the other skates you could find flaws as well. It probably has to do with the skate not looking as flashy! I have fit 22 people this past month 7 NHL players every NHL guy has said the same as people here. There not much to look at but holy crap are they comfortable. I am betting there will be close to 80 guys wearing them full time this season.
  17. I am offering an in-house rebate on old VH's when buying a new pair of VH's. (when purchased originally through the Toronto Fit Center's)It's a personal thing and has nothing to do with VH. However they applauded the idea as there is little wear on the smaller pairs. Of course for people that have large discrepancies in there feet it will be a little bit of an issue. Hopefully that wont be to many. So next spring I will have about 20 pairs of used VH JR skates for sale !!
  18. It would not be needed for most as the ramp angle is set to be the most effective. That being said I do have one VH client that has them and really likes them!
  19. So many NHL guys trying them this summer could be a huge difference in the fall on the ice! I have still not figured out how to load the pictures on here but will one day!
  20. Now this is just me, but seems like the measurement around the ankle may have been slightly generous and therefore has more of a wrap then needed. Not saying for sure but kind of sounds a bit like that. Also I have found if you have a wide foot you can not let the blades get as low as maybe you would in a stock wide skate. because they are made to your actual foot some are a little to wide in the forefront and allow the side to bottom out. I have put in lifts for guys with that issue. That and change the blade maybe a tad sooner than normal.
  21. What do they look like on your foot?
  22. This is good. When doing more fittings (Had no issues yet) I will make sure to send a picture of the heel to hopefully enable the guys to make them Narrow enough were need be! Been crazy busy with fittings!!!
  23. I can post one in 3 weeks??? I deleted the one I had on my phone. I have a pair at the shop.
  24. New Toe Cap on size 7 to 10 .....more coming.....
  25. And that is very correct. Back when Mr Ericsonn was here as I have mentioned before Jimmy he said that exact thing that the 71226 would be more of a Euro thing as NA has a smaller rinks and more of a start and stop game in comparison.
