  1. The Quad .5 is closet to what you have but most places dont have it. It's an 8 10 12 14. If I was to do Quads that would be my go to. Not a fan of the others at all. To much waisted blade if done properly. Most places do not blend them in the front. Pretty sure you could just order your own template as well and have them do that?
  2. My ULTA tacks are custom. And yes I'm a horrible skater but it's not even close for me. I guess to be fair I have worked with them from the beginning. My grafs are the closest in feel and performance I think. Price point is exactly the same here FYI
  3. Well "fitting well" is not custom. And after close to 600 fits with 25 customers on there 3rd pair and saying they woukd never go back to stock tells me that. That being said as mentioned above other stock fits are getting better. But i know i can tell the difference between my Ultra Tacks and True/VH
  4. Yes they fit and perform better. As they are even more comfortable than traditional skates.
  5. Sorry wasnt bashing you in particular just some of the following comments that seemed more like a lynch mob. God forbid any manufactuer actually makes a mistake. I think its just society today. Anyway I'm sure it will be taken care of.
  6. Ok. I have let this go for a fairly long time now. I understand wanting the appearance to be better i get it. I am sure it will get sorted. But in now way did the one situation with the cosmetic issue affect the performance. Tell me please (and not picking on you in particular) have CCM or Bauer remade custom skates. As in a second pair? I can tell you in my expiernece in 15 years...(at regular retail) NEVER ONCE. I am on about 600 plus fits and I have had about 10 remakes and 2 returned for me to sell as they just didnt like the skate. ( they didn't give it an honest go Or allow for adjustments). If i have a problem i cant fix Rob and his expanded team have always come through. When it comes to Bauer for example almost every right skate is misaligned compared to the left. Trigger holders come plyable and blades get loose in 3 months on high end players. Toe caps and tendon guards break. CCM has a toe cap breakage issue here in Toronto. The 4.0 holder is soft in the rear tower and flexs greatly at 6 to 8 months of high end play. Every skate has an issue. Or issues They may have a small team but from what I have seen they are growing it slowly to have the least amount if wrinkles possible. Scott even asked me ( as I have told he asks all retailers) to send pics of any we skates with any issues so they can bring it up in the weekly meetings. In closing I will just say I have never worked with a better group of hockey guys when it comes to product. Maybe the present CCM Pro Rep and back when Conner Browns and Tanner Pearsons fathers were at Bauer. Then we got straight answers and good service. Sticking with True.
  7. There is but i guess there not ready to release them. To bad because its an awesome system great steel and all around top holder runner combo.
  8. No. Because you would need the soft ware to be able to read it.
  9. The new CCM quick release holder will be the new go-to holder! Saying it now.
  10. Those blades and holders in the pictures are garbage and should be replaced? Why bother fixing junk? I said this was happening 3 years ago and everyone said I was on Crack. Guess it was good stuff!
  11. For JR as well. 98% of theQuads done around here have zero blending. With Zero blending done. And you are actually going from the factory 9 or 10 to the 2nd profile on the quad so you have actually had only 3 profiles, not 4. Studies done up here on profiles showed that a profile change larger than 2 with no flat spot was not beneficial. Hence why if I was to get a Quad the .5 would be the one I would go with. Also, it has the least amount of steel ground of the toe. 8 10 12 14. My 2 cents on the quad
  12. Have to ask. Did you get the toe blended after the profile before sharpening?
  13. Hey JR did you blend the toe from the begging of the 6 or leave it after the profile was done?
  14. Wait a minute..... So you mean there is an issue with the trigger holder??? No way you guys are BSing. 😂😂😂
  15. Exactly. I found out and I was like I don't even remember the guy? I mean he said he saw me play in like when 1970? Anyway no loss he hasn't come back! I haven't played since 2004 except Charity fun things? Well I guess we don't get to learn how to put the H in the back of skates now!
  16. My expertise has zero to do with post count. It has to do with an eye for seeing people having an issue and being able to adjust that skate to accommodate them on the ice. If you look way back on one of the first posts I saw an issue with the original 190 supreme and the negative pitch. I did some modifications and the proof was in the video of the player skating in them. Since that time I have worked with hundreds of players and have been hired by many to asses the skates they are wearing and make the adjustments. Listen I am not hear to make it a personal thing and I could really care less if you think I suck at skating. But seeing as I have not skated since 2004 as a player then hey glad you remember all the way back then when I skated. Anything since then is a pretty poor attempt at it. I pretty much suck on the ice now. Well except coaching in my VH skates I actually look like I can skate now! I was looking for your degree's or anything on your website but I do not see anything personal on there. All the people I have worked with and so on are clearly marked on mine. If your going to hide in the shadows all the power to ya. Have a great day!
  17. Ice skates from swiss production Graf & Co. was established in Kreuzlingen in 1921 by Karl Graf’s grandfather. Graf then produced a wide range of all kinds of sport shoes: from soccer, -bike, -hiking, up to tennis boots, etc. From 1937 the first ice skates were introduced into the range of products and from 1974 became specialists in ice hockey and figure skating boots. Since 1997 GRAF CANADA LTD. has produced high -quality hockey- and figure skating boots for the Canadian and North American market. GRAF SKATES AG, Kreuzlingen exports approximately 85% of its production world wide except to USA and Canada. Main markets amongst others are Russia, Scandinavia and Germany. For the Japanese market ice skates are produced on particular lasts (shape of foots). Huummm nothing about speed skates here??
  18. Take a heat gun and warm the area and gently roll that section back out the opposite way. Put a water bottle full in the skate and let sit over night standing straight up. Sometimes if the skate is really warm laying in the sun or in a trunk and it pushes say that spot in it could have curled it inward and nothing more than rolling it back out. try that and see how it goes!
  19. Graf went out of business because the new CEO spent way to much on trying to "redesign" the whole thing instead of continuing with the skates that got them there and working on new liners and outers nothing more nothing less. I am baffled on how you think everyone here knows nothing about hockey and skates and boot and pitch and biomechanics??? YOU HAVE 8 FING POSTS!!!!
  20. Well I got a phone call today from one of those so called guys "Trying them out." Gemel Smith from the Dallas Stars. His comment was "man these skates changed my game. Im the only 2 way guy left up. And I have been told Im staying as of right now." No he is not a big league guy but for a guy thats a fringe player to say they dramatically improved my movement on the ice? I could actually go on and on with many of the guys I have worked with. As for them with Flare blades if Flare made the adjustments I would want to see as a sharpener I would give them a serious try. You always have to give things like this a try and now that I am closing in on 500 pairs of VH skates sold I would say my success rate is pretty darn good. Even more so that most of my clients 85 % are 10 to 18! And most of those are some of the top players on their teams. And only 9 Hall of Famers but Im working on that. Also pretty sure Mitch Marner and Tyler Bozack are pretty decent players and they seem to like them! I will leave the Goalies don't skate comment to the goalies to respond to! LOL
