  1. Wait a minute..... So you mean there is an issue with the trigger holder??? No way you guys are BSing. 😂😂😂
  2. Exactly. I found out and I was like I don't even remember the guy? I mean he said he saw me play in like when 1970? Anyway no loss he hasn't come back! I haven't played since 2004 except Charity fun things? Well I guess we don't get to learn how to put the H in the back of skates now!
  3. My expertise has zero to do with post count. It has to do with an eye for seeing people having an issue and being able to adjust that skate to accommodate them on the ice. If you look way back on one of the first posts I saw an issue with the original 190 supreme and the negative pitch. I did some modifications and the proof was in the video of the player skating in them. Since that time I have worked with hundreds of players and have been hired by many to asses the skates they are wearing and make the adjustments. Listen I am not hear to make it a personal thing and I could really care less if you think I suck at skating. But seeing as I have not skated since 2004 as a player then hey glad you remember all the way back then when I skated. Anything since then is a pretty poor attempt at it. I pretty much suck on the ice now. Well except coaching in my VH skates I actually look like I can skate now! I was looking for your degree's or anything on your website but I do not see anything personal on there. All the people I have worked with and so on are clearly marked on mine. If your going to hide in the shadows all the power to ya. Have a great day!
  4. Ice skates from swiss production Graf & Co. was established in Kreuzlingen in 1921 by Karl Graf’s grandfather. Graf then produced a wide range of all kinds of sport shoes: from soccer, -bike, -hiking, up to tennis boots, etc. From 1937 the first ice skates were introduced into the range of products and from 1974 became specialists in ice hockey and figure skating boots. Since 1997 GRAF CANADA LTD. has produced high -quality hockey- and figure skating boots for the Canadian and North American market. GRAF SKATES AG, Kreuzlingen exports approximately 85% of its production world wide except to USA and Canada. Main markets amongst others are Russia, Scandinavia and Germany. For the Japanese market ice skates are produced on particular lasts (shape of foots). Huummm nothing about speed skates here??
  5. Take a heat gun and warm the area and gently roll that section back out the opposite way. Put a water bottle full in the skate and let sit over night standing straight up. Sometimes if the skate is really warm laying in the sun or in a trunk and it pushes say that spot in it could have curled it inward and nothing more than rolling it back out. try that and see how it goes!
  6. Graf went out of business because the new CEO spent way to much on trying to "redesign" the whole thing instead of continuing with the skates that got them there and working on new liners and outers nothing more nothing less. I am baffled on how you think everyone here knows nothing about hockey and skates and boot and pitch and biomechanics??? YOU HAVE 8 FING POSTS!!!!
  7. Well I got a phone call today from one of those so called guys "Trying them out." Gemel Smith from the Dallas Stars. His comment was "man these skates changed my game. Im the only 2 way guy left up. And I have been told Im staying as of right now." No he is not a big league guy but for a guy thats a fringe player to say they dramatically improved my movement on the ice? I could actually go on and on with many of the guys I have worked with. As for them with Flare blades if Flare made the adjustments I would want to see as a sharpener I would give them a serious try. You always have to give things like this a try and now that I am closing in on 500 pairs of VH skates sold I would say my success rate is pretty darn good. Even more so that most of my clients 85 % are 10 to 18! And most of those are some of the top players on their teams. And only 9 Hall of Famers but Im working on that. Also pretty sure Mitch Marner and Tyler Bozack are pretty decent players and they seem to like them! I will leave the Goalies don't skate comment to the goalies to respond to! LOL
  8. So is that why 70% of the NHL goalies are in VH/True? And the number of players increases daily? Might want to think again on that one. As for the Flare blades here is my issue along with another company. You sell your product online so it makes it a little harder for us Brick Types to Stock all that extra steel. If I was to say make an order for the shop is the profit there if I don't sell it? No I am stuck with it unless you have a return policy for unsold items? Just so many blades out there these days you cant stock everything.
  9. Tyler I still feel it doesnt fit int he holder as best as it could. I find it not very forgiving.
  10. Variance of thickness of steel and quality seems to be an issue with these. I have seen it even in a regular sharpening. I just try and put them in Step.
  11. Tyler, I have had 2 players come in with these. One Pro (NHL player) and one Minor Midget player. Both did not fit well on the new Blademaster holder as the blade was to close to the holder was not tall enough for the curves at the front and back of the holder. When I did get in a position that would sharpen consistently the steel itself was a pleasure to sharpen. As a sharpener I think there is some design work to be done to make it work better on the holders. Also no level I have goes on these to be able to make sure its a consistant level. (I have them all) As for the 2 players the PRO player didn't like them at all. Although he admitted the profile felt way off even though the guy ( who he got them from) tried to adopt his profile to them from his old blades. The younger player really liked them but couldn't explain what it was he liked, The dad just spoke to whats on the website. These were the ones I spent the most time with. With no level it took a little longer to make sure they were as straight as could be. Adjustments to sharpening I think would make it easier to push to players in retail. Another ting was the weight seemed to be a little heavier?? My 2 cents
  12. Between the NHL and AHL teams San Jose has the most players at 24. At last count according to the Asst Coach on the NHL team.
  13. Which one are you referring to?
  14. Maybe a running change in logo but thats about it for now. As for pricing if you come to Canada to buy you pay taxes and shipping. In the US its simply the price shipped. So mo advantage really buying in Canada with US dollars.
  15. I really doubt he is much removed from what he had when i worked with him I know he kept it in JR. 5/8ths
  16. Just curious where you are getting your information. St Loius and Nashville both use Blackstone Portables. NYI most of the players there are using FBV. I have to get Tavares a new wheel every time he comes home in the summer because he is always trying something new. Strome stays the same. Last summer I would say it was 60/40 ROH vs FBV in the dressing room. And with guys like Tavares and Storme on FBV it wasn't hard for other guys to ask to try it. You can google BTNL for some of the pics of the guys there. I do know Pappy on the leafs has everything in both the practice and main dressing room. He can do any cut on any machine. He is a guy for sure that is prepared for any request.
  17. So he was saying the skates make him a bad player now?
  18. Cole is on Step Steel. As for that Marlies team with Hosang and McDavid its funny about the story because it's so true. However in the final game of tge OHL cup McDavid was told he was falling because his blades were so low. I offered to switch them and match the profile. Josh said he should. But the captain said it would be bad luck. So he left them just sharpened. He fell on a break away to tie the game and his team lost in the finals. Since then he has always had fresh steel. Profiled and sharp.
  19. Actually Stick9 is correct. there are many guys have no clue of profile and or hollow. Some like to learn and some just say not to sharp or sharper. I worked with McDavid at the OHL cup and earlier on in that season and he was at 5/8ths. If he changed later in the OHL not sure?
  20. And there you have it. They have made their way to the Great One.
