  1. +1 on the Bauer P14 P19 is also readily available in pro stock form.
  2. You’re also missing the point. The skates will sell no doubt. I may even buy a pair myself. I just find it hilarious that a $599 skate doesn’t contain a feature that has been standard on high end skates for over 20 years.
  3. In that case let’s charge $1199 for a Graf 703 or Reebok 9K and call it a day. You’re missing the point.
  4. Its not so much the feel or noticing it - It matters in the sense that corner-cutting on materials while jacking up prices is a microcosm of everything wrong with the state of retail gear these days.
  5. $599 gets you a plastic outsole these days? Neat.
  6. Unless they’re being proactively mounted on Bauer and CCM skates at scale my guess is that they’ll be as much of a game changer as the skates themselves. You’re talking about stubborn creatures of habit that have had the word tuuk stamped on their holders for anywhere from 15 to 30+ years.
  7. It was their top of the line low kick stick prior to the Reckoner. Decent stick, it shot missiles for me but the puck feel was awful compared to my Bauer and Warrior sticks.
  8. FWIW, a lot of roller hockey skates came with the toe caps pre-drilled to help with ventilation in warmer environments. Not sure if that’s still the case today. I imagine as long as the holes aren’t too big it’s fine from a structural integrity perspective.
  9. A Trigger 1 or Reckoner wouldn’t have that checkerboard sigmatex weave. This one is easy.
  10. I’d go with a CCM 70k or 68k if they fit your overall foot shape. A full composite boot shell is going to feel like crap compared to the flexible Vapor boot that you’re used to. I loved the Vapor XX, XXX, and XXXX but everything after that feels like a ski boot.
  11. Looking for recommendations for skating socks that don’t fit super tight and compress the crap out of my toes and high instep. See below, I have a few of these and a similar CCM model and hate them: https://www.hockeymonkey.com/catalog/product/view/id/338462 I’m basically looking for something that feels like a thin dress sock and allows my toes to wiggle, while providing a bit more tech on the moisture wicking front. Thanks guys.
  12. I’ve worn One90s, NXG, MX3, and 1S and have never had an issue with the flexible tendon guard on any of them. As long as you pull the skates off from the tops of the eyelet area and not the tendon guard itself it will be fine. I’d also avoid wrapping your laces around the skates as that will put pressure on it (or any tendon guard really).
  13. I’d look into a custom Ribcore 70k or soon to be 80k. They’re the right mix of new tech with the old school feel and flexibility. Outside of that, Both Bauer and CCM can do a full custom boot for you in any of the models on offer. Trues (in my view) are absolute junk in comparison.
  14. FWIW I think CCMs team sticks are far superior to the other brand’s offerings.
  15. I didn’t like it - felt like/looked like I was playing with a shovel.
  16. NXGs aren’t vintage - that’s a tremendous skate by today’s standards. I’d go with the D width in that skate as it’s the equivalent of an E width on Bauer’s baseline scale - the supremes are built on an oversized last. It’s a super moldable boot and I have a feeling the EE S29 will be sloppy after break in. Remember skates are supposed to fit snug and minimize negative space as opposed to fitting like a sneaker for comfort.
  17. I think of it as no negative space whatsoever + no pain.
  18. This. Perhaps the liner is keeping gear fresh for too long which means less frequent repeat purchases. Or it’s too expensive. Who knows. Either way - it seems like too many good innovations in this industry get canned for no reason.
  19. Interesting. Will the top end “traditional” Supreme pant be fully spec’ed with 37.5 et al? Thanks guys.
  20. Haven’t seen anything regarding a “2N” and the 1N has been on clearance for some time now. Is Bauer dropping down to only tapered pant (Vapor) and hybrid pant-girdle (Supreme) offerings? Curious as I’m in the market new pants and love my Nexus 800s - I guess it’s a question of stocking up on what’s currently available or waiting for a new model if one does in fact exist.
  21. Mint near new condition, no smell whatsoever. Super rare nowadays. Asking $100 shipped within the US or trade for a similar condition pair of CLs/RBZs in a large. https://imgur.com/a/g1XWRQd
  22. 82 flex Grip with spiral tactile texture P91A max height curve APX2 build 2S Pro graphics Sticks measure ~64.5 inches standing up from the floor to the end of the stick. Both are used once but could easily pass as new. Asking $250 shipped within the US for the pair. Open to trades for 75-80 flex P92 or P14ish Warrior/Bauer as well. https://imgur.com/a/8nquDlZ
  23. He spraypaints all of his sticks there - the DX has stealth branding regardless.
