  1. P28 sucked for me coming from Drury/P106. I can’t stand anything with a huge toe hook as I use my backhand all the time and prefer that extra real estate at the end of the blade. Just keep an eye out on ProStockHockey, eBay, or sideline. They literally pop up all the time in those specs. https://www.prostockhockey.com/hockey-sticks/player-sticks/right-joe-pavelski-dynasty-hd1-dressed-as-covert-qrl-75-flex-stick-4/ https://www.prostockhockey.com/hockey-sticks/player-sticks/right-joe-pavelski-dynasty-hd1-dressed-as-covert-qrl-85-flex-stick-5/ https://www.prostockhockey.com/hockey-sticks/player-sticks/right-team-stock-rbz-stage-2-85-flex-stick-3/ https://sidelineswap.com/gear/hockey/sticks/481956-ccm-new-ribcor-trigger2-pmt-stick-right-80-ncaa-return
  2. Sticking foam in the toe cap to try to make the skate “fit” is one of the more hilarious things I’ve read recently.
  3. Looks awesome- nice “bling” as well. 😃
  4. Coveted and rare among a few MSH gearheads doesn’t really mean anything to most shops. Makos didn’t exactly “fly off the shelves” when they were a current retail model.
  5. Reakt 95 fits better for me. $159 is the sweet spot, both are great lids.
  6. I think it would be great to get the collective “friends of an NHL eqm’s mother’s aunt who works at a gym and trains the second cousin of an ECHLer who walks their dog with a hockey monkey employee” together in a room to see what kind of absurd gear theories they can come up with. “Trues are actually repainted Megas from 1990” ”A lot of pros use Bauer sticks painted as CCMs” Etc.
  7. “#teaser” would suggest otherwise.
  8. Pretty sure if you order them without the Step holder you don’t get the heel cup.
  9. I don’t agree with the bolded, at all. Bauer and CCM have the sizes clearly marked on them and it’s fairly easy to determine if anything was done to the vamping, stiffness, etc. Also, most pro return pairs are the same size in both feet. If anything, with how Bauer builds their retail skates (Nexus and Supreme) on oversized lasts it’s actually easier to figure out exactly what you’re getting with a pro stock skate.
  10. Basically standard on all G3 build sticks.
  11. Has anything been done to explicitly address the heat/ventilation issues on the Covert gloves? The previous model would have been OK to use as a hand warmer outside during the Boston winter.
  12. The only chest pounding I typically come across is people letting everyone know they weren’t dumb enough to spend $299 for a top of the line stick.
  13. Didn't realize you were "showing off" a grip in your post until I read the description above the image Nice i3!
  14. That's an entirely separate issue.
  15. It should never be about who can skate circles around who. Don't chirp in a friendly skate, period. Hockey is a niche sport, the more people that play it the better, regardless of skill level. I wonder if it would be more popular if people didn't fear the barrier to entry that is being ridiculed by the insecure who think they are better than they actually are.
  16. I like the red accent personally. Clean looking skates!
  17. There's literally no way to test this unless you are doing straight line speed or agility tests with a skating robot. Too much emphasis on personal preference and feel when it comes to skates. You can't really measure comfort and edge confidence with a normalized metric- otherwise Marleau probably would have ditched his 9Ks a long time ago despite being in the top percentile of skaters walking this planet. Some pro drivers prefer the road feel of a Lamborghini, some prefer Ferrari.
  18. I'm sure the answer is buried in here somewhere but I can't find it... What's the best way to remove the orange/silver graphics on the Mako 2 aside from plasti-dip? Specifically, the orange E on the tendon guard, the Easton logo on the quarter, and the silver stripes on the side of the boot. I prefer a completely blacked out skate. Does a Sharpie do the trick with no future maintenance required?
  19. I know- we're both throwing a dig at the "parent" here if you catch my drift
  20. Is Baller hockey a reimagination of Easton tech with Lavar Ball and co as the poster boys?
  21. Members worship an orange trimmed skate that literally took piranha bites out of their ankles... ...meanwhile a cosmetic imperfection here is the end of the world. Come on guys. Lets not forget the days of Vapor XXs looking like your dog got to them after a month of normal use.
  22. Cage size has more to do with the length of your face than the size of your helmet. That said, how a cage fits you helmet to helmet may vary depending on how high or low the mounting screws are, and if you have the clips flipped up or down.
  23. I don't get the issues people have with the aesthetic. They're literally all black skates with a silver accent. Pretty non-offensive from my perspective.
  24. I think he's saying True +3 forward is slightly more forward than his VH/CXN combo, not True's base pitch. Sounds like -1 + TUUKs is probably the ticket for me.
