  1. Maddening, just maddening.
  2. Here's to hoping its just an infrastructure thing and they just can't be reached.
  3. They popped up as I was searching around Amazon but I can't remember if I didn't like the preview or there wasn't a preview but I passed on it.
  4. Not sure I would have gone there. If only cursing were my problem, being a weisenheimer, however, is another story.
  5. I have warned several people in this thread. I told you guys time and time again that just because it is a "venting" thread that [doesn't mean] profanity is acceptable. I couldn't help fixing that.
  6. Fear not, young one, you are not alone.
  7. They were 1 for 3 on the power play (two other penalties resulted in 4-on-4 play). That's better than their season average, yet they were missing their triggerman on the top unit and their best player this season from the second unit. Coming into the game, Thomas had a 1.5 goals against over his previous six games, but there's no doubt he had a clunker Thursday. The bottom line is Chicago appears to be a superior team than the B's are at full strength, and are undoubtedly better than a hobbled B's team. There's no shame in being outplayed by a better team, yet the drunk skunks booed instead. That was a case where the numbers didn't tell the story. The other power plays were so atrocious that if the Blackhawks got another penalty the B's would have been wise to decline it. As for the 'Hawks being a better team, well, yeah but that doesn't excuse the lack of hustle and compete level that the Bruins showed. You can't lose pretty much every race for the puck or battle along the boards and just say, "well, gee, they're good".
  8. We'd need to see pics before making a judgement on "settling".
  9. ...with a lie 5 and a square toe, which would be an Easton Heatley, just like I said in the review. You're almost there, Reebok, now finally cave in with an Iginla/P12 and you'll be all set.
  10. I don't know, the Bruins power play was horrendous most of the night. And Thomas is still fighting the puck, he hasn't been the same since he was out with his hand injury, possibly nursing something else?
  11. Wilson should be ripping Burke for saddling him with that shit-show in TO. As for his comments to Kessel, as Wilson explained, that was more for the rest of the team that it was about calling Kessel out. Yes, Kessel needs to up his game but that goes for the whole squad, well, to at least play to the mediocre talent level that most of those forwards are capable.
  12. Pretty sure it was an original since he had it around '91 or so. It lasted to '94-95.
  13. i am all out of ideas lol kovalchuk in the playoffs would scare me though...for some reason he disappears when there are bigger games. however with some decent talent around him maybe he has less pressure and performs... however maybe kovi is going to detroit...kessel kessel kessel...he better start skating like the wind and learn something other than the toe drag Kessel's initial excitement and performance is starting to diminish. He is a good player but he doesn't get much help in Leafland. The big problem with the Leafs is that Brian Burke thinks he is a genius. Mr. "proper levels of pugnacity, testosterone, truculence and belligerence" hasn't done anything except hang Kessel out to flap in the wind and stockpile a bunch of 3rd line defencemen. The biggest problem with the Leafs is that everyone else thinks Burke is a genius. He tinkered a little in Anaheim and got a Cup but he is not a team builder.
  14. A buddy of mine had the original Convex. That thing had more twists and turns by the time it finally snapped.
  15. The A/C preceded the A/G. The A/C was a boxier shaft and didn't have the silver tip of the A/G line. The A/G was a thinner shaft and had concave sides.
  16. Takes a lot of guts to nail it down like that. Huge loss for the B's.
  17. Obviously, there would be some salary heading the other way in the deal and over the summer the B's would create the space to fit him in for '10-11 and beyond.
  18. I think it depends on who they decide to go after. If they try to get into the Kovalchuk sweepstakes then that will likely cost a Leafs pick. Any Kovalchuk deal for me would be contingent on a long-term deal.
  19. I see this signing as the precursor to something else. I suspect that one of the underperforming scorers (read: Ryder) might be shipped out in order to make some salary room in order to make use of the Leafs drafts pick(s) to pick up a scorer.
  20. And the roller coaster ride continues............. I didn't see the unforced giveaways last night and that made a big difference. I wonder which Bruins team we'll see tomorrow.
  21. Wait, the Caps D isn't good enough? Where have I heard that before? They need a Regher type of guy and they are sorely lacking it. Kind of fun to watch Ovechkin and the Sharks D go at it last night. Interesting which guy he chose to challenge and which he didn't. Great wrister late in the third.
  22. We have to keep in mind that musical taste is subjective. Sure, the Jonas Brothers is screwdrivers to my ears but they seem to have mastered the bubble gum pop that girls and their moms can't get enough of.
  23. If the Thrashers are expecting Kovalchuk to sign long term with whomever he gets traded to, the asking price will be high. At least 1 of the number one picks from Toronto (most likely in the '10 draft which could be a number one overall) plus probably a Krejci or Bergeron and some combination of Hunwick/Boychuck/Hamill/Marchand. They could even try to pry Rask from the B's but I think he'd be an absolute deal breaker.
  24. agreed, nickelback sucks. canada come on. They've apparently sucked their way to millions in record sales. Someone must like them.
  25. From the link, it sounds like the guy definitely abused his body. He isn't the first rocker to go out this way and, sadly, he won't be the last.
