  1. I skated in them for 2 hours at SummerJam and had no issue coming from Supremes. Pitch was a non factor.
  2. While I'll admit upfront that I know nothing about 3D scanning, just looking at above process I would have some reservations about the scan's accuracy. And PAID reviews are WORTHLESS...
  3. I've skated in custom SuperFeet in the past and really like them so I'd be interested to know how the carbon's compare to custom's after you skate in them for a while.
  4. There must be something significant in regards to FBV and BFD otherwise there would be no FIRE with SPARX.
  5. I don't want to hijack the SPARX thread, but BFD is less than precise compared to FBV. BFD is a scale where a particular dressing can feel within a range (for example, bite can feel like anything from a 1/2" to 5/8") and FBV has multiple spinners equivalent to specific hollows (for example 100/50 = 1/2"). If the SPARX fire ring is closer to actual ROH, then I'd say it's a better system than BFD IMO.
  6. Skate with the custom insole and see how that goes. Even if it takes up some volume it doesn't necessarily mean that it will cause you problems. The yellow foam provides no support at all so I wouldn't skate on it long term. If the custom causes you issues over time then look into something supportive that is low profile, such as the carbon SuperFeet or SpeedPlate.
  7. I've only seen black outlined in white on the 1N glove.
  8. I have 3 sets of LS3 in my rotation and haven't had any issues. I also remove mine after every skate to dry them completely and am currently skating 4 times/week.
  9. Go with one skate with the shim and the other without, then see which fit you prefer. They will compress over time, but I wouldn't say significantly. Like I previously posted I attached the shims to my inserts, but don't have them permanently attached to the toecap. My next test is to see at what point I need to replace mine.
  10. What I did was to experiment using and not using the shim by not permanently attaching them to the toe box. In the end I wound up using the shim, but I just insert them and take them out with every use. I just prefer to be able to take them out to air dry and occasionally spray them with deodorizer.
  11. There are some changes from the previous Vapor gloves: 1X Pro has the pro ivory nash palm with overlay. 1X has the addition of XRD to the backhand and palm is now AX Suede Quattro grip. X900 adds 37.5 to the liner and triple density foams. Palm is the same as the 1X. X800 adds Thermo Max to the liner and PE inserts.
  12. HYDRA MAX liner and flexible tendon guard.
  13. I went with 3mm lifts when I had LS2 holders installed. Can't tell you if it matched the stock pitch perfectly, but I was satisfied with the results.
  14. Many guys I know would rather repalm than get new gloves. I think many in the market for new gloves will consider them for the easy palm replacement.
  15. They come now (at least mine did) with the blue insert plus the thin shim. I tried with the and without and prefer the fit/feel with the shim. Once I figured that out I permanently attached the shim to the blue insert, but manually place them and then remove them after every skate.
  16. So I really experimented with these, using: The insert without the shim The insert with the shim And then alternation skates with and without inserts In my MX3's I now use the insert plus the shim. However, I attached the shim to the insert, but haven't permanently attached them inside the skates as I prefer to remove them after skating for drying and airing. Guess I'm hooked on the feel. Can't say I've seen any performance gains, but definitely am enjoying the comfort and fit feel.
  17. An outstanding act on your behalf that she will surely appreciate...well done!
  18. He's talking about the Easton skate guy once being the MLX skate guy...
  19. Still on the fence as to whether or not I like the difference in fit they provide, but not willing to ditch them either at this time.
  20. Agree totally. Lack of educating many retail employees also hurts. Whether Bauer, CCM, or Graf, many of those manufacturers' skates are not unbearable out of the box when it comes to fit. The Mako is right out unbearable and difficult to get on unless put in the skate oven for a few minutes, a step most shop employees are not willing to do.
  21. Tried them out for the first time last night. There were times when I felt very aware of the inserts. True test will be after many skates to see if I can get to the point where I don't notice that my skates feel different. For what it's worth, skating in MX3's and the shim made it too tight a fit. I'm also not attaching them and find that they stay put just fine while allowing for easy removal for drying outside of the skate.
