  1. Everyone goes through a rough stretch every now and then. Just ride it out and stick with it...
  2. Pat at Custom Pro Repair. http://www.customprorepair.com/
  3. True nor VH make holders. Holder is made by Step.
  4. Since he doesn't use the customization feature within the MX3 tongue he loses nothing by going down to the S190.
  5. Then just to follow up, I'd be curious to know what your impression was of how he skated in the 1S? Everyone has their own opinion, so mine is that the only reason to go S190 over 1S would be to save some money. I can see why some might think the 1S is stiffer than the MX3 since the 1S tongue is wider and thicker than the hybrid tongue in the MX3, but I didn't perceive any difference. Me, I skate in 1S's. To be totally honest, I haven't changed the inserts in the tongue nor have I changed out the insert in the tendon guard. I am a fan of the injected lacing system so that's why I chose the 1S over the S190.
  6. What you have accomplished since you first started is truly amazing. It's nice that you have recorded your progress over the course of time.
  7. Just out of curiosity, what skate or skates did your son try on when you were there? Did he skate on the ice?
  8. Titanium Curv is simply esthetics... Stiffness is the same between the 1S and S190. Just look at the components, both have Curv and composite outsoles. If looking for Curv boot that is less stiff, then that would be the S180.
  9. Would make sense that they consider the feasibility of a commercial grade machine. Once you have saturated the home sharpener market the sales of your units will drop. Of course they may be satisfied with just marketing their consumables, but a commercial grade machine might be a good sell to rinks. Especially complexes that have multiple sheets and attract tournaments. I know for a fact that a rink pro shop near me has several machines just to handle situations when 12 teams are playing at the same time.
  10. P92 is transitioning to Matthews. I've already have seen some newer P92 Vapor 1X sticks labeled as Matthews.
  11. Hope you had a black car previously. Keeping it clean is a full time job!
  12. Do you happen to know how it profiles? Is it a template based system like ProSharp? ProSkate Balance does a great job of blade matching, but profiles only as a flat.
  13. Marketing 101...every manufacturer exploits this to their end. The machine itself looks interesting being able to sharpen both skates at once.
  14. Bummer...good luck. Hope everything goes well.
  15. You can easily trim the SpeedPlate to fit. Good scissors and trimming before baking is the way to go.
  16. I skated in them for 2 hours at SummerJam and had no issue coming from Supremes. Pitch was a non factor.
  17. While I'll admit upfront that I know nothing about 3D scanning, just looking at above process I would have some reservations about the scan's accuracy. And PAID reviews are WORTHLESS...
  18. I've skated in custom SuperFeet in the past and really like them so I'd be interested to know how the carbon's compare to custom's after you skate in them for a while.
  19. There must be something significant in regards to FBV and BFD otherwise there would be no FIRE with SPARX.
  20. I don't want to hijack the SPARX thread, but BFD is less than precise compared to FBV. BFD is a scale where a particular dressing can feel within a range (for example, bite can feel like anything from a 1/2" to 5/8") and FBV has multiple spinners equivalent to specific hollows (for example 100/50 = 1/2"). If the SPARX fire ring is closer to actual ROH, then I'd say it's a better system than BFD IMO.
  21. Skate with the custom insole and see how that goes. Even if it takes up some volume it doesn't necessarily mean that it will cause you problems. The yellow foam provides no support at all so I wouldn't skate on it long term. If the custom causes you issues over time then look into something supportive that is low profile, such as the carbon SuperFeet or SpeedPlate.
  22. Outside of the skates. If baking new skates open the oven and place the SpeedPlates on the oven floor outside of the skates for the last 90 seconds of the baking process. Insert the right SpeedPlate in the right skate and tie it up. Then do the same for the left skate. Then stand as described in the video for 30 seconds and then sit while the skates cool down.
