In my career I have sized up approximately U8s 4,500 times. More or less. The ratio was approx this - 1,500 out of a box starter kits in Youth sizes 3,000 kids one piece at a time From fitting properly, we were able to get most of those 3,000 kids into properly fitted gear. Some parents were insistent in buying something too big "so they can grow in it" , or they came in in May when I haven't received a pair of youth medium elbow pads in 3 months and we have to go with a large. Of those 1,500 kids who got sold a starter kit, I probably changed sizes over 200 times. Usually because the kid is too fat. But some of the brands have been very awful in scaling of sizes, ie elbow pads too big compared to the shoulder pad size, or shin guards with straps too short, or pants too big, etc. The others I fitted I doubt half of them fit great for every piece, I am positive a lot of mis-sized gear is out there with it. The core issue of those starter kits is in order for them to be financially feasible for the LTP market & retailer to have a "kit", is this is made as cheaply as possible in order to make margins, as it is razor thin at this level of equipment. This gear therefore has faults such as sizing inconsistencies or issues with the product itself being defective. It does accomplish its goal though - it gets more kids into hockey by introducing players at a lower barrier. It serves a valuable purpose that cannot be overlooked. Stating that, I have yet to find a full set of youth kits that are proportionate w/ good quality at that right price. There are better kits than others, however, if you can afford it, my recommendation is to size each piece of equipment individually. A lot of LHS do deals as in "Buy X amount of youth gear get % off" or something similar. It rarely goes on sale but when it does, buy the next size up of what your player has right now if they like it. Don't get greedy, just get the next size up on sale. Youth gear discounted is dirt cheap.

It is possible; I wouldn't go to someone who doesn't know how to do this already. You just move your pivot point on the steel to adjust. The real thing though is we're not talking much pitch change as it is compared to a Vapor or Supreme boot. If you can't skate on the normal profile as it is switching the pivot point isn't going to change it enough for you to be able to skate on it now. I would just get it stock if you haven't done it already. Would make replication in the future substantially more probable of being correct.

Not to hash this from a month ago but just want to reiterate the reason those sticks (T5P & FT3P) we're very brittle and not durable - due to covid their manufacturers became a total shitshow, and they were not allowed to have any QC over their process. The manufacturing plant was allowing carbon to stay extended periods of times in a non-controlled environment, this caused them to have issues in the process. Finally they were able to go there and remedy the issue, which is why you've seen durability come back to what it should be. T8P & FT6P have further refined balance points making them feel much lighter than the current generation. The FT6P is going to be an amazing selling stick this year.

Yes in Canada - didn't take off for the same reason I am guessing this product wont (albeit having more sports would be beneficial to selling your product) - too expensive. I already have a hell of a time selling the Tacks X simply due to its cost. We've only done a handful of custom helmets. People want to spend money on their kid's head, but the limit seems to be about $250-300 USD.

BlackStep & V Step are infinitely better (not really, you know what I mean) compared to just regular step. Coming from LS3, I totally understand and don't disagree with your opinion.

FWIW CCM is getting rid of their 90 day very soon and I don't see True keeping their 30 day around much longer.

I think I've given myself a stroke reading this thread. Flex/Stiffness = how much force you need to bend the stick. Bigger number = can't bend as far. Technically I know that isn't correct, but for layman's terms and how 99.9% of hockey players understand "stick go bendy" that is what they mean. --- Back on thread, Bauer is releasing 65 flex to their Senior HL2 line this summer. I would expect on the S24 Nexus to have the same. Also currently available on custom 6 packs & myBauers. Other than that, Warrior & True offers 65 flex in Senior sticks (top-end) CCM does not offer 65 in a Senior stick length (60"). You can do custom 60" 65 flex but it is with an Intermediate shaft, not senior shaft.

Would hate to give someone the thought they can use a golf net and be a-okay when most likely, they won't be.

From a physics stand point, you are completely wrong in terms of a golf ball. A golf ball is putting out approx 256N of force (160 Km/h X 1.6 oz) where as a hockey puck is putting out approx 600N of force (100 km/h X 6 oz) Baseball is definitely more in line with a hockey puck shot. Your average baseball player is probably hitting at around 100 to 120 km/h, X 5.25 oz of a baseball equating to more or less the same amount of force as a hockey puck shot.

Ribcor is officially dying this upcoming season, yes. The closet in-line skate to that 80K is probably the 90K. the 100K is a full composite boot, where as the 80K was not. The 90K is going to be closer in stiffness to what he had. Based on what you're saying tapered in the new fit system is probably correct but without trying a skate on it is hard to say.

He said 3X. Should be 10'. The performance profiles (Quad & Zup) that Bauer put on skates were on the UltraSonic & 3S Pro (Quad). Did they put it on S20 builds of the 2X Pros? I can't remember seeing that on steel. Regardless he has S21 3X pros which would've been not a performance profile. He grabbed stock 10' on the Pulse Ti. Only difference is the natural pitch of the vapor vs the supreme hence why I'd just do a heel lift if using multiple sets, or profile to a 10' with a forward pitch. Doing a performance profile for him will not get him to where he was on the 3X. The Zup would put him definitely more on his toes then what he was used to

I'd either install a 3mm heel lift in each skate (if you're someone who has multiple sets of steel) or do a stock 9' or 10' (depending on preference) with a forward lean to it if it is the only set of steel you use.

the small and medium - 1 should be the same length, waist being the obvious difference. The longest of those 3 being a medium. I just have +1 & +2s in-stock right now so can't measure for you.

Oh for sure, I'm sure there are stores that still have them as well. Just talking about how from a production stand point, it will be 2 years this summer from the last batch of those things coming into Indy warehouse.

And this guy isn't going to his LHS to buy 12 R75s...not like Bauer would take that order anyways. The helmet hasn't been produced since 2021.

Like it is a steal to pick them up below $500. If I had them, in my shop I'd have them at half off right now...

Re-akt 65* not 75. 75 has been dead for 2 years now this summer. If you can find an R200 and are okay with it being out of certification then go for it If not I'd check out the HL2 when that drops. Was very comfortable at Bauer World. I'll be getting a custom one for myself.

The skates were $950 USD MAP for 6-12. $650 USD MAP for 3-5.5 Markdown went up to 40% and then they went off MAP The speed plates in them were trash, they will crack. The tongue material with 37.5 will SMELL BAD after a couple dozen good skates in them. Beyond that, IMO they're nicer then the current one below top-end (M5 Pro) right now. LS4 steel should be on them. $500 is fair price IMO, anything below that is robbery.

Yes 100% correct unless they're ST2.0 builds dressed as FT3P - I think that was the most durable stick ever. We had teams who did the team stick re-order before teams that gave their player the top-end sticks. Crazy durability

The "pro stock" stick that OP was using is the same "TEAM" stick that CCM has offered for years. It has been dressed as a JetSpeed for the last several seasons (in the FT3 retail look) If this is the "Pro stock" OP is talking about, then he shouldn't have an issues as it is essentially the same thing he had. If he is looking at "FT3 Pro" sticks being retail versions of the JS FT3 Pro, they absolutely have durability issues and were a huge issue with CCM. If he is looking at "FT3 Pro" sticks being pro-stock sticks dressed as FT3 Pros, he more than likely is purchasing something that truthfully there is no way for common folk to find out what it is. Could be OG Trigger, Tacks AS1, OG JetSpeed - no way of knowing. Also wouldn't know what blade stiffness is in the stick, either. If he has a very nice relationship with a rep or the store has a great relationship with their rep I'm sure they can get that information for him. These sticks would most likely be lighter than the Pro Stock Team stick he is used to and durability should be marginally worse
