  1. It's an ipad. Why don't you just get the scan done at your preferred shop and have the skates Shipped to your house and bake it urself. Or shipped to your house and you go to whatever shop to have it baked.
  2. No I didn't say that. I actually don't know. But I do know that a shop in Ottawa did request the specs of a player's skates when they were doing work on it (after it was built), and true shared this information to them. The shop wasn't the same place that did the ordering. But this is different than what you're asking. But really, you think any shop is going to scan you and do all the work only to have another shop get paid for it. Kind of a "silly" question.
  3. Even if true allowed this, no store would waste their time scanning you only for you to purchase it elsewhere
  4. I personally wouldn't clamp anything other than the heel. even then, if you need to use a clamp, the skates are prob off by quite a bit in terms of fitment. You should use your hands to mold the boot around you foot. Then wrap it. The wrap serves to allow the boot to cool in the exact shape it's conformed to your foot without it naturally relaxing. As posted in other pages, this is how I wrap mine.
  5. I've done a lot of research and my own experience with true to know what I know lol. I've researched just as much with Bauer and ccm but just haven't worn their skates for very long since they don't fit me that well at the retail level.
  6. This. Svh is all made in Canada and built from bottom up using your foot scan and raw materials. Catalyst is assembled in Canada using shells that have already been made (overseas) and the fit is customized by way of foams and I'd assume "punching" certain areas out if needed. This is essentially how Bauer and ccm "customs" are made.
  7. Which is why I got scanned for the cat pros 😬 If you don't like the yellow on the cat then you're gonna hate the orange on the hzrdus 🤮
  8. The trend towards smaller toecaps is a good thing. I like them too. I was referring to the specific dimensions that you want out of a toecap along with not liking the option or power foot inserts. The tf retails will be replaced by the hzrdus skate which will also have the "carv" toecap the catalyst has. The hzdus looks hideous imo. True dropped the ball on the design especially after a big improvement on the catalyst in the looks department
  9. Have you tried the catalyst and the new toecaps? From pictures and looking at the demo models they looks very similar in size to the tf line.
  10. The toe box is better made larger than too small especially of you can decrease the volume quite easily sliding the tongue lower or with Powerfeet so it's not really an issue for most people. You seem very particular which isn't a bad thing, but it also doesn't mean true should redesign their skate because of the small percentage of people like yourself. True did redesign their toebox since the tf9 but I've yet to try the catalyst skates on to see how it compares to my tf pro customs. To be their big toebox was more of a negative for esthetics than performance. I lowered the tongue slightly into the toebox and added some diy power foot with a couple mms of Eva foam and I have literally only 2mm above my toes of wiggle room.
  11. Never used the as3 pro. Tbh I generally stay away form mid-high kick point sticks. I only wanted to try this out bc it was on clearance and read reviews that it was easy to load. I still couldn't get used to the lag during shots like you'd feel with mid to high kick points vs low kick. I expected this but the trade off of having a better slapper vs a low kick stick wasn't there for me either. I still have a better slapshot with my jetspeed and trigger. It could be because I got a 75 flex in the as4 pro and I shouldve upped it to 80 since it's a mid. So there wasn't even really a trade off for me so I ended up selling it. For me ultimately, the jetspeed is my preferred stick of the ccm family. Haven't used Bauer since the 2n pro and even though everyone loved that stick, I felt it didn't have enough pop for me even though the puck feel on it was the best ever.
  12. Powerfeet is foam so you should be able to move your toes as the foam gives. Sounds like you want a very specific toe box height. Your best bet is to make ur own power foot so you can adjust the thickness of foam to the mm. Use Eva foam sheets that come in 1mm, 2mm etc thicknesses where u can pretty much customize it exactly. If the machs fit u perfect aside from a toebox that is a bit too tall, then I would just use ur machs and do the custom power foot diy. From what you're saying about toeboxes, you won't be happy at all with the trues.
  13. Maybe Some pics of the ft4 pro were using pics from the intermediate line? Sr is all brass. Not sure if intermediate is all brass though. If they are then they probably just used a pic of one without all brass and it got distributed. But to answer ur question they are all brass for seniors. Can't say for certain about interm
  14. Probably best to stay away from it and go jetspeed if you're worried about the kick point being too high. To me the as4 pro shot similar to the 2n pro but maybe a bit more lag like the supreme 1s which is the last supreme I've used. Can't say about 2s or ultrasonic
  15. More than you think do. And there are also players that wrap the laces around their ankles.
  16. Hopefully bladetech starts making them for the shift max. Right now I only see them for the reg shift holder. I know old shift steel will fit in the shift max but I want the extra spike on the steel for security
  17. The current machs toebox it too tall? It's shorter than all the other toeboxes Bauer has ever made. Hyperlites I think are shorter but everything pre hyperlite and ultrasonics, the Bauer toeboxes were big. True does not make a custom toe box for custom skates. However the new catalyst and svh customs have a lower profile toebox but look bigger than Bauer's asymmetrical toecap. Are you against using something like powefoot? It's a simple fix. I make my own form dollar store materials.
  18. I never had issues with the Velcro digging in. The Velcro is on top of tht tongue but there is an excess piece that goes into the toecap. I guess I never noticed bc I slide my tongue down a bit so it reduces the toebox volume. As for the machs being a bit too wide I'm assuming you're already in a fit 1? Bauer increased the width of the toebox in the mach and m5 pro in fit 1 and 2. Did you try the ultrasonics because those skates are noticeably tighter in the toecap and forefoot. The fit 2 in 3s pros where very narrow for me in the forefoot and for tht machs I was able to fit in a fit 1 with the only issue I noticed on my pinky toe during turns. Ultimately I think I should've gotten a fit 2 but I returned the machs altogether.
  19. The machs are very comfy. Prob one of the most comfy retail skates made in the last few years imo. U should try them on or at least the m5 pro. I know you're probably against it but you can easily wrap the forefoot area of trues to reduce volume in that area as well.
  20. Pro player market is a diff beast as pro players get options that even the retail custom consumer won't ever get.
  21. Bauer not being as thermoformable isn't a bad thing but I was just stating which skates are most moldable in order. As for Bauer's always fitting you fantastic, you just said the last skates that fit you good we're the Bauer 1xs and that the new fit system pretty much messed it up for you. Ccm is more moldable. Take ccm and Bauer out of the oven and you'll see ccms quarter gets much softer and pliable. Regardless of whether you think this is a good thing or not doesn't matter it proves my point that it's more moldable. Trues baking instructions is what it is. All three brands use diff materials that react differently to heat. The reason I like ccm and true is bc both can conform to irregularities a lot better than Bauer. Very rarely will you even need to use a traditional boot punch for true and ccm as you can use the tissue technique or even ur thumb to press the pressure point out.
  22. You can't compare a true skate to an old Bauer skate. Heck you can't even compare hyperlites to machs. They all fit differently. My argument was that how Trues fit out of box is nowhere near how they fit after baking and should not be judged based on out of box feel. Bauer, maybe, because there's not a tonne of change post bake with Bauer's so seeing how they fit out of box is a better indicator of how they will fit post bake as you shouldn't expect a night and day difference. For Bauer's is I'll agree with you on where you state that out of box fit should be a good indicator of how the skates fit your feet. But it's not relevant with trues at all and to a degree with ccm as they are also very thernoformable.
  23. Good reply 🤡
  24. Then why are you having this much trouble finding a skate that "fits"? Ccm is based on thousands of scans and their fits are completely diff than Bauer. So the fact that the generic foot lasts are based on x amount of foot scans just means it'll generally fit the avg person decently, with the exceptions of not fitting some people at all and some people perfectly.
  25. You thinking a skate should fit good out of the box without baking says it all right there. Imagine thinking a skate should fit your foot great after it's been made and pre heat molded using a generic foot last that's not your own.... U realize that retail skates are pre heat molded right lol. Through all the skates you've tried on and you're still looking for a better fitting skate... Ironic. You're banking on a skate company making a retail skate using a foot last near identical to your own foot shape. Good luck. A skates ability to mold to your foot and adapt to diff ranges of foot shapes doesn't mean it isn't a correct fit. It means it uses advanced materials to allow for this. If after baking the skate is able to fit you near perfect where it was no where close to pre bake, does not mean the skate is still a bad fit. I'm not offended at all. I'm annoyed. I could care less if people prefer Bauer or ccm over true but it's a fact that true and ccm skates use materials that allow better moldability than Bauer.
