I've used both the SP 1.0 and 2.0 but only on my custom trues and just got the same size as I would wear on a retail Bauer, so 7, for me
-
It's esthetics only. The top edge of the boot is still soft. Can we get over this now.
-
If u want them to fit like Bauer ccm. Why not get Bauer or ccm.
-
I think the opposite. Ccms she'll is very thin. They've increased padding over the years but their she'll is very thin. Bauer's curv seems much more structurally durable. I've seen a lot of Bauer skates that have taken a beating esthetically but not structurally
-
I wouldn't expect any skate to last more than a year/season if I was on the ice 3+ days a week. If they do great. But the reality is at that level, it's not reasonable.
-
I know you were a fan of speed plates like I am. How do these compare. I hated the stock true insoles of the last. Too squishy for me. But these look interesting
-
The pics I see for the cat pro doesn't look like anything special or different in terms of the cuff area
-
True never had the comfort edge for their full customs. And you don't need it. The top edge of their customs are soft and have no hard plastic in them so they are essentially comfort edges without the stupid print of comfort edge on them. Up until the most recent skate releases from ccm and Bauer, the comfort edge did very little anyways. Look at the vapor and as1s comfort edge. They were pathetic.

I stopped using true after the ax9 the feel was just off for me. The a6.0 ht was great but like all true sticks durability was hit or miss. I've stuck to ccm for now. So far my ft3 pro and trigger 4 pros haven't let me down. No chips on the blades or anything.
-
So I completely stopped using this. I couldn't get used to the tackiness while stick handling. Gonna remove it from my stick and still have an unused set i dont know what to do with.
-
I don't see anything wrong with the holders on the as-v pro you returned. You can't look at them compare them the way you do to see if they are centred. If it's centered between tow cap and at the heel you're good. Not at the forefoot area you highlighted. Secondly are your as3s step steel or ccm steel. I ask bc step has never fit into tuuk or ccm holders as easily as stock steel made by respective companies. Step always required a bit more effort.

Drop an eyelet. Or flex forward then tie the top lace which creates some slack on the top lace.
-
First off. Double check to see if the eyelets have been stretched. Secondly, skate on them first and see how they feel. If there are issues like they are too tight etc, then maybe rebake. Mind you, when you lace them up to skate don't tie them as tight as you would with Bauer's or ccm. Just enough so there is not lace slack. Good luck.

Bauer’s Factory Profile
Sniper9 replied to Zaphod042's topic in Technical Info and General Questions
I'd still profile them. Their stock quad 0 feels different than the quad 0 I get at my pro shops. Different in a bad way. -
Who not return the as3 pro under the 90 day guarantee

I tried my buddy's Bauer nexus league team stick, felt good. For the 159 cdn price point I would definitely get it. The league version is only available at some places though not all.
-
So the svh replaces the tf customs. Aka updated original true customs. And the cat is the new like but isn't offered in a fully custom skate? Kind of confusing. Weird how they wouldn't make a fully custom version of the cat.

I used to wear 14 across the board for retails. Now I fit 13" for all brands except ccm I'm still a 14 as they have still maintained some consistency. Realistically I was more of a 13.5" so any deviation smaller or bigger I really noticed.
-
I have to drop the top with true bc of the wrap. But if I try to drop the top with Bauer or ccm it feels way too low to I use all the eyelets on the latter two brands, just not as tight.

The butt end sleeves saves palms which I appreciate but 20-30 bucks for them is insane for what it is. If I were to get a butt end sleeve I'd get tacki Mac since they are cheap. But I like lizard skins. They just don't last as long but I'll get them on sale and generally two will last the life of the stick. With the texture on the blades these days, how is that grip wise? I always wondered if the entire blade even needs to be taped since it seems pretty grippy as is.
-
Ya I saw this on thier ig. Didn't like the dog logo. Wished it just had the BE logo. How is it compared to rezztek. Price wise too? It looks a bit short and doesn't offer that much blade coverage
-
So I use it today for most of my pickup game. Probably 75% of the ice time. Gonna break it down in point form Pros: - puck was flying off the blade on wristers, snaps, and claps. Felt like more spin and grip on puck due to texture of the tape - slush, snow etc stayed off blade entire game - consistent shots throughout game with no flubs or mishandling due to ice buildup on the blade - so far no signs of tht adhesive failing ie. No peeling or curling around the edges Cons: - it's black and I'm used to white tape so it kind of messed with me a bit. Something I could probably get used to if I stick with it - blade feel went from dampened yo pingy - durability might be an issue since there's already a cut and some wear. Time will tell if it'll last the advertised 8-10 skates - applying it is a bit of a pain if you're ocd and want zero air bubbles and evenness. My fingertips are also pretty tender because of the sandpaper texture took some skin off lol. The extra glide from the bottom of the blade was nice. It will take some adjustment stick handling bc of the pinginess and tackiness vs stick tape wax combo. I use Howie's which isn't a super tacky wax. I actually think Howie's adds some slickness to hockey tape. The only reason I hsd it is bc it's one of the better waxes for snow buildup. Ideally I'd love to use tape only but after fifteen minutes of playing the tape is either soaked or iced up. Overall I was impressed with how much better my shots felt. The pinginess and feel I totally expected. I'll keep using it and will decide whether Its worth the time and money. If they make white available in Canada that will also def keep me interested in using it long term.

I actually bought some today at prohockeylife. 34 bucks cdn for two sets isn't that bad. 17 bucks a set is worth trying for me. Will use it tonight and see. Feels kinda like sand paper. I expected it to be more rubbery.
-
No I used it once and didn't like the feel. Sold it to a buddy. Hes played maybe 12 drop in games with them since as he's a beginner. Toe is absolutely destroyed already. So goes to show the durability still is an issue.
-
If ft2 was one of your favorite and you went from that to true... You probably will love the ft3 or 4. True sticks have always been horrible with durability. I liked the a series sticks but they were hit or miss with how long they would last. I didn't like the ax9. Haven't been back with true since.
