  1. Anything north of 430 I really notice. Onnand off the ice.
  2. This is a standard shaft but low kick? Always thought the taper was what produced the low kick
  3. I found the clarino actually gets slippery. It's not an issue if I wear goin socks though, and the latest Bauer cut resistance socks are very good in grip as well bc of the Kevlar fibres.
  4. Lol. You know what though, if it came with even a 3 mth warranty it would be a lot easier to stomach. But one mth is a joke for a stick north of 300 bucks can or USD.
  5. Personally, I didn't think it was ridiculous. It was new. But not ridiculous. Now its just getting out of control since prices are rising every year for new models whereas before it was at a bit of a slower pace. I guess it's good for getting older sticks at a clearance price... Except Bauer and CCM seem to really put caps on advertised pricing even on d/c items.
  6. This is getting ridiculous. Almost half the price of top end skates.
  7. Do this. But def do something about it before it gets worse. Does it show similar wear on that side of the tongue as well? Maybe consider getting fresh tongues or the new pro tongues... That might help. Do they other skates show any similar wear as well?
  8. Never said he did but just replying to the post above about true changing their design
  9. The medium cage doesn't fit,? Sorry might have missed it if it was already mentioned.
  10. Don't think they will since the easy option is just not to lace the top eyelet. It will be too much of a hassle to redesign the skate to appease another category of players when the solution is already there (skip the top eyelet). From just looking at pictures, even though the trend right now seems to be players starting to skip the top eyelet, the majority still tie their skates all the way up.
  11. The CCM orthomove insoles are pretty wide and I found it was a PAIN to get them out of the boot once inside. So if they are the yellow CCM orthomove insoles they aren't glued in there just wedged in there...
  12. The facing on the CCM skates actually do wrap over the tongue during the heat moulding. It inevitably does it when you lace them while they are hot. It may not to the extent of the Trues but they still do to w degree. I would imagine the same with Bauer's with their traditional eyelets. Not sure about the lace lock system as it's one strip of hard plastic.
  13. The reduced facing makes it easier to reduce negative space without necessarily doing the wrap technique though. You don't need as much wrap to reduce the negative space as the laces can be used to adjust the fit more so than the facing. With more wrap the laces have less to do with actual adjustment, and also makes it easier to get your foot in and out. But like you said, even without a reduced facing you can eliminate the negative space from heating alone unless it's in the area like the toebox and base of the skate / sole.
  14. If heat moulded properly with the tongue, it should literally mould to your foot and the facing should wrap your foot and accommodate your low volume foot. My trues def seemed like it had more volume than my as1 pencil test wise (tongue pulled out) but the true tongue is quite a bit beefier than most stock retail tongues and once the tongue was in place, it filled up the difference in negative space. Along with using the wrap technique on the top of the skates, I used tensor for the entire forefoot so I had a complete wrap on my entire boot during the heat moulding. If this doesn't work then you should request a remake if the fit does cause you issues. If you're basing it just off the pencil test and not actual performance and fit wise laces up, it's not really a fair comparison bc the fit of Trues is like no other. They were great skates imo, but of course to each their own and they aren't for everyone.
  15. That's the cage version of the visit flip lol. Aka monahan, kronwall, hagelin etc.
  16. Stock up when u find a good one when on clearance.
  17. If anything maybe reach out to true and see if they can redo the liner. If anyone can do it , it should be them. They do offer repairs. It be warned their repair work can seem pretty sub par sometimes.
  18. Just put the CCM vr25 on my warrior Alpha one pro and no issues with the screw sitting flush with the spacers and screws it came with.
  19. I noticed when the tongue is adjusted higher away from the toebox, it actually alters how close my toes are to the end of the toe cap. With it in a somewhat neutral position my toes were feathering the toe cap. When I moved my tongue forward to reduce the height of the toecap (which I like) I noticed my toes jammed up against the end of the toecap more causing me to have to remove the black plug on each boot. But if yours didn't fit to the point u had to use superfeet, you should've gotten a remake.
  20. Do u check to see if there were toe plugs and try removing the red liner that's glued to the toecap
  21. I'm actually quite surprised that UA only had a temporary licensing agreement. Thought they bought out the company and when they stopped making it, it as game over.
  22. For me it wouldnt be bc of putting on and taking off as I can do so without a shoe horn and only top eyelet undone. I just find bc my ankles are so skinny that when I do a full and proper wrap it only leaves about 1.5 inches of space between opposing facings which, imo, cause a bit too much wrap when the laces are tied up. Not sure if it makes sense. Basically I want to reduce the volume of the boot and not have the facing wrapped as much as it does right now to achieve this. Here's a pic of what mine look like. The area between the facing gets reduced a bit more when tightened. Who knows. Maybe the skates were meant to wrap as much as possible so you're not so dependant on the actual laces in keeping the foot locked in and the volume of the boot can be altered simple by the facings wrapping more on a low volume foot and wrap less for a higher volume foot and the fit/performance isn't affected.
  23. U able post pics of the difference? Is the reduction throughout the entire facing or just the top 3-4 eyelets.
  24. As stated already the scan and current skate size is used to determine how you like your skates to fit. I like as little room as possible and like my toes to brush the cap. Some ppl like their skates half size bigger than that is considered a "proper" fit. Your fitter should make a note to have the skates built off the brannock and scan only and not previous skate size and holder size. And note whether you want no room or 1/2 size room in toe cap etc. Secondly you CAN get initials put on the low profile tongue. I've seen it. So not sure what is going on there on your end. It's literally the same piece of material sewn onto the low profile tongue as the other standard or t guard tongues. For me I could get my foot inside my skate pre bake as well bc I have pretty skinny ankles. I personally don't think true makes the eyelet/wrap area custom to your ankle size bc I've seen ppl with skates that vary from barely passing if not failing the pencil test to almost seeming as it the boot has too much volume. True can get away with this bc of how mouldable the boot, and in particular, the facing is. For my next pair I actually might request them to have the facing/eyelets reduced half an inch.
