KOR Shift 1 and 2

Recommended Posts

That's a hot looking skate! I love how they kinda have a matte finish instead of of the super shiny silver stuff. Very nice!

Actually, the actual skate is very shiny. The Shift 1 had a matte finish. The Shift2 is definitely flashier.

y would you buy the shift 1 over the one90 or the s15, just curious

I don't mean to be a dick or anything, but some people just like to try new things, who knows it may fit your foot spot on and you just may fall in love with the "NEW" skate.

Am i correct in thinking that the boot is pretty deep at the heel and has a high arch? That's what I get from the picture, and if so, this boot couldn't be any more wrong for my foot. I was really thinking about getting a pair aswell.

Why buy a Kor over a Supreme One90? Price, price price. In Australia, the Supreme's are going for about $1,200 - I got a new pair of Kors from the States last week for under $300 Australian (my second pair - old pair is fine, but just want to make sure I stock up in case they go bust!)

I haven't skated on the One90, but if it's more comfortable than the Kor then I'll eat my... jocks. Kor Shift 1 is an amazing skate - just read the reviews in MSH... most people who wear 'em love 'em.

Re the high arch, Kor say that the boot is designed to fit almost anybody. I have a very 'average' foot (with a medium height arch) and they fit me like a dream. I'd suggest you try them on first before you commit to buy if you have a super high arch, but I'd take a punt and say that you'll love them.

PS. Thanks for adding the pics of the Shift 2 - interesting. I'm sticking with the 1s for now, but mighty nice to see the 2s are finally out.

im just goin to ask this, if the kor is such a great skate, why are there zero pairs in the nhl? i mean i know guys go custom there, but guys where any skate they want, y not kor?

The feedback was that they wanted a higher-cut skate, as well as custom sizing, something KOR was not able to do at the time. They are still a very small player in the skate game.

Let's see how Shift2 does.

I know... Another Kor question. Anyhow; I thought that the Kor skates were made to fit your foot when heat molded and that there was no need for most anything to be custom. Correct me if I'm wrong but dosent Kor only make their skates in one width?

Yes, one width, but they couldn't make quarter-sizes, which a lot of guys would want. Kor skates can't be stretched lengthwise.

Got it.

I do remember they said they were in the process of signing a big name player to their skate for this year. Just dont know who. Anyone have any idea?

I could care less if big name guys are wearing them.

I realize they are a small company so the fact that they are not all over the NHL doesn't bother me.

All I know is the Kor skate is by far the best fitting, best performing skate I have ever worn. That is all that matters to me.

I couldn't agree more with Moto. The Kor is the same for me - best skate I've ever worn, by a country mile. I think they're years ahead of their competition.

Looking at the pic of the Shift 2, is it just me or does it aso look low-cut to anyone else? I thought they were moving away from the low cut to appeal more to the masses?

Either way, I couldn't give a bugger whether or not anyone in the NHL wears them, whether they're high cut, low cut... they work for me and they're so well designed they should work for just about any foot (within reason... The Shaq might have some troubles).

Shift2 is definitely higher than Shift1, by about 1/2". Shift2's ankle height is comparable to most other skates. Also, the tendon guard is much taller on the Shift2 than the Shift1.

maybe they don't want to throw useless dollars at a player when they already have a product doing well enough with out.

look at flite, they don't pay any player to wear/use their equiptment, yet over 100 NHL players do...

What was the price tag on the Shift 1? And why do they use the pitch 3 holder? Isn't that Mission's holder and blade?......

They use the Pitch 3 holder because they are awesome holders. Best I've ever skated on.
