Well when Phil Knight is a graduate you get crazy stuff like that. If it wasn't for the big O jersey, they'd be tolerable. Too many sets of uniforms, but tolerable.

Isn't the deal something like they get the stuff for free but they have to wear whatever he gives them?

Yeah, every sport. He has a hand in developing every uniform for the school.

And, JR, wow. That's really bad. I take back tolerable.

A group of senior players always helps design them, too. As gay as most of the jerseys are it is somewhat nice to be on the progressive side of things. Bottom line it gets people talking about Oregon, something that usually doesn't happen.

I'm just happy that Nike has started to get all their basketball in SoD uniforms instead of the dumb collar horns.

I know it's the Atlantic Coast Conference, but University of Maryland Terrapins are looking good to head to the Orange Bowl. Beat FSU Saturday and BC in two weeks, we're there. Destiny in our hands. Bring out those Oranges!

Um...they still would have to play the ACC Championship to advance to the Orange Bowl.

I don't think the BC game will matter. As great as the just played against FSU, I feel like they're gonna totally lay an egg against wake, no confidence in this year's team. :(

If UM runs the table in conference play (GT will be tough) then it doesn't even matter who is playing in the ACC Championship.

They've been up and down for a rebuilding program, but there have been glimpses of how NASTY the Canes are gonna be in a couple of years.

My fault on the ACC Championship lack of knowledge guys, but obviously football is not my forté. Everyone is buzzing about it on campus though, Blackout Saturday Night at 7:45.

Long shot I know, but anyone going to be on campus tailgating that will want to meet up for beers and talk?

Eh, I agree with you. BC's defense has been pretty good, but the offense is nothing short of horrendous. I don't think FSU would hang with the U and no way Wake or Maryland do either.

Hey, LeGarrette Blount: You're a tool.

Sure, Hout shouldn't have been acting like that in the first place...he probably DESERVED to get popped. But after losing a game like that - especially on the road - there isn't much Blount should have done other than hang his head a bit and get off the field. The punch (and all the "extra-curriculars" thereafter) more than warrant a pretty lengthy suspension.

Cane's biggest problem has been QB play, much like FSU

Hey, LeGarrette Blount: You're a tool.

Ughhhhh I know. Truly frustrating, he is/was one of my favorite Ducks. The punch was bad. We've all lost our cool in the heat of the moment, but its definitely not an excuse for his actions. (My one homer comment- I'm sorry but someone who is small, didn't play and surrounded by a group of his teammates should never slap/hit/whatever a losing player and talk with a shit eating grin on his face). But the punching your teammate, trying to fight a fan, and resisting your own coach and the cops is inexcusable. A huge black eye for the program.

I would not be surprised to see him kicked off the team. He has already had discipline problems this year. Regardless of his talent and how the coaches might feel, this is going to haunt the Ducks all year (and even longer than that). I really don't think they have much of a choice.

Posted that last year...but yeah...haven't had a decent QB since Dorsey in 2000-01.

Yep...Dorsey was okay, but I'd like to see what the Canes would do with a real NFL caliber QB instead of guys like Dorsey or Torretta.

Last Canes game I went to was between Pitt and Miami in the old Orange Bowl..Interesting neighborhood, but I had connections and we had a chance to tailgate inside the fence around the stadium. Andre Johnson and Roscoe Parrish had big games along with Larry Fitzgerald. Ended up drinking the night away in Coconut Grove at several of the bars in the area. Seems like a few of the 'Canes players liked to frequent the bars there as well..

Back to football, it seems as if the 'Canes are lacking the LBs and DTs that they've had in the past too. Vilma was tough, but guys like Jessie Armistead and Michael Barrow were beasts..Maybe the Hurricanes will get back to their roots and start recruiting south Florida better than they have in the last 4-5 years.

Been a long time since they're had a NFL caliber QB - last QB to make an NFL impact was probably Testaverde.

The OB is no more...they're at Dolphin Stadium (ugh!)

Well, Shannon has done a great job of recruiting South Florida again - back in the day none of the other schools could even get in there, but when Coker took over he started losing the area. He got a lot of players from Northwestern High a couple of years back.

Love College Football

Especially love that the Big Ten has SUCKED collectively as a conference for a looong time now and will continue to suck. Seriously.... Pollsters and the rest of the world have finally caught on to how overhyped and overexposed the Big Ten consistently is. Outside of MU (who has not been good and will not be good for a while) and OSU, there are no consistently good teams in the entire conference.... sure PSU has had a decent run the lat few years..... but if you look at the quality of the rest of the programs, it;s a miracle they are even getting three or fout bowl bids.

Sure everyone loves the tradition of the Big Ten, but I for one am so very happy that the world woke up and realized that they cannot expect the same coverage, adoration, bowl picks etc, simply for just being the Big Ten.

SEC is hands down the toughest conference to play in.

BIG 12 is also very competitive the last half decade.

I hate college football, but a conference with two of the top ten teams hardly sucks. Then again it's all a popularity contest because good teams rarely play against each other, there's too much danger in scheduling actual competition.

Ohio State #6, Penn State #8/#9 depending on the poll.

Since we're all hockey players here, I'm wondering if other peoples' reaction to Blount's punch was the same as mine: "If you're gonna punch someone in the face, take your own helmet off you pu$y."

Link for those who didn't see it (which is probably nobody):

He should be charged with assault

I really don't see the big deal. The guy pushed Blount and said something to him, both actions obviously intended to provoke Blount, and got a tap on the chin for his trouble. If Blount should be arrested after responding to being provoked than the police need to be at every NHL game to promptly arrested and charge anyone that throws a punch.
