On a serious note, from having been a pro rep for many years, it isn't our job as reps to ask what it is, although some players will volunteer the info when they ask you to do it.

I quoted the photo because I wanted to make sure people saw what I was talking about. that pic has the best view of it I've ever seen. if you look back at my posts you'll see I don't do that at any other time.

His full name is, "Ilya Valeryevich Kovalchuk" So, I'd imagine that has something to do with it. I saw an explanation how with the way Russians formally present their names that the reversal of the V and K works out, but I cannot remember right now at all.

The blade looks non-wood at least. And no one said he was using a true one piece tapered. Either way, its different than his old usual setup

It does look like a two piece painted to match however isn't a dolomite and other similar sticks just a blade stuck in a shaft with some paint over it? Those are considered a OPS so where is the line between two piece and one? Just my $.02

I've found a few Reebok/CCM twigs out there that are fused two-pieces. Got myself a fused shaft/woody Vector 130 with Mario's name on it.

I don't see why it would matter if he is using a 2 piece but for marketing reasons they want people to think it's a one piece.

Although it may seem a bit shady to do something like that or for Easton to spray their SE16's to look like S19's, the general public is just buying the name and image anyways, not so much the performance. Especially since pro stock sticks are not the same as the off the shelf stuff anyways.
