Ever see an NHL player in your LHS?

Recommended Posts

Have any of you guys that either work at an LHS or were just in there browsing a shop ever seen an NHL'er in there buying stuff? If so, who?

I was at my LHS last week and some guy walked in wanting to buy a pair of goalie skates, he said he was a pro hockey player and was a goalie for the Blackhawks and the Islanders, didn't get his name though. After he left all the people in the shop were on the internet trying to figure out who he was .

If there was actually a season going on right now, my LHS would be packed with Panthers players because my LHS is at the rink where the Panthers practice facility is.

quite a few Blue Jackets (I was going to say BJ's and thought better of it) came into the Hockey Stop when I worked there (the golden years I like to call them)

Jamie Pushor, Ron Tugnutt, Rick Nash (I think he was paid), Rich Pilon (hawhaaat), Geoff Sanderson, Tyler Wright, I think Jody Shelly...am I missing any my fellow Stoppers.....

Most came in to buy their kids stuff

One of the guys that managed the rink where I used to work was in the NHL for a while. Spent most of his time in the AHL, great guy.

Hmm...

Had a ton of Thrashers when the Solar Bears used to practice here.

Luc Robitaille and Jiri Fischer watched the Belarus/Canada game with me in the shop for about two hours.

Sold some stick blades to Maxim Kuznetsov the same day.

I've had Nashville players in here before too.

Sharpened Nikita Alexeev's skates for two weeks. Also Darcy Hordichuk's.

I'll probably remember more later on in the day...

Never seen an NHLer in my LHS, but a few guys I know that worked at Golf Town met Mike Ricci while he was shopping for golf equipment. He's supposedly super nice too...but I think you can tell that Ricci is a nice guy anyway...

My grandfather used to own a little newsstand/tobacco shop in Voorhees, NJ. Eric Lindros came in at least three times a week. It was too long ago to be sure, but I bet he came in for a tin or two...

Geez, when I worked for Blades...all the time at Chelsea Piers..

Gretzky used to watch his kid play there

Tikkanen - one of my faves, I mumble..so we understood each other

Leetch -

Robitaille

Graves

Richter

and well at the Giant..we used to see them, not counting things like our goalie appearances (Gerber, Chechmanek, Lalime)..most of them just wanted to come in under the radar, typically with their kids...(ie..Craig Johnson from the Kings/Ducks..never even mentioned he played, just was there buying some skates for his son....)..

Claude Lemieux would stop by with his kid when they had a tournament...man..he looked old!!..face has definitely taking a beating over the years...

Heard Bourque and son were there but it was the one day i was off when Cushing was in town..

Back in AK Gomez would go into the one there, but that was more because his store was down the hall. Down here I've seen Mason, Hall and Legwand around.

I've ran into Forsberg at my LHS but he wasn't actually in the store, he was just leaving in his SUV. But he had just been there so that counts I guess. ;)
