Anyone know if you can change any features after you have ordered your cutomized stick, before production? I ordered an 85 flex senior stick, however I want to chnage it to a 75 flex. I sent Warrior an e-mail and waiting to hear back....wanted to see if anyone had tried to do this before? I have a feeling they won't do it, but it would be great if they could.

If they have time to change the order before its produced, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't.

Sadly they were unable to make the change as my stick "has gone into production".

On another note, I purchased a brand new Warrior Widow this past Saturday, played a game with it on Sunday and after only 30min of ice time with it I noticed that the blade started splitting on the bottom, right down the middle - a straight line from heel to toe. It almost looks like this is where the balde may be "fused", or put together? I'll consider it a fluke, or simply bad luck - went back to my LHS and they gave me another one under warranty.

I read over and over how Warrior is notorious for their weak blades, I ignored all of the nay sayers and it happened to me. Can't say I am looking forward to getting my custom Widow now...sure it will look cool, but will it last? Time will tell. I may just sell it when it arrives.

Decided to go for a personal motto of mine instead of your typical Name/Number : Live for what you Love, Live to Fight and Fight for whom you Love.

Also decided to use a minimal knob end to show off the tribal graphic, this is one area of criticism that I must express: depending on how much you cut, it's likely that you'll also lose some/most of the upper graphic. Suggestion? Shrink the size/span of the lower graphic, move the Warrior text down and offer more of the upper graphic.

Initial Impressions : AMAZING puck feel, very crisp and responsive without it giving too much feedback in terms of vibration. A big contrast to the wood-like and more softer feel of the One95. I am still adjusting to the lower lie and the curve, especially for stickhandling. Longer review in the future.

warrior has been ol faithfull for me

It what sense? Have their sticks lasted longer than expected for you?

I bought a Widow 2 weekends ago, played 1 game and the blade split down the middle after a few slappers. Exchanged it for a new one at my LHS, used the new twig in my next game and again the blade is coming apart, this time on the top, where the blade meets the shaft.

My concern now is that I was told by my LHS that Warrior will only allow for 1 warranty exchange, after that, too bad.

Naturally, I am curious to here about your experience with this stick?

I've said it many times in this thread, great performance and feel, terrible durability. I've gone through three AK-27 blades in less than a season. My dolo's broke at the heel, my Widow broke at the heel...

I wouldn't buy them anymore, but I love the Gionta curve.

I have owned a ton of diff manufacturers sticks and the Warrior Widow is by far the worst for durability. I can understand several games in, and the blade beginning to break down, but 2 games, in which I played 30-35min of is insane!

I have reached to out to Warrior to see what they may be willing to do.....we'll see.

The heels always broke down after a few months on my previous Warriors (Kronik, KGB, Spyne, several Dolomites, etc...), but after 4 months my Widow's blade was in like-new condition. Just got a bad slash to the shaft...

@TML Fan: I wonder if your LHS got a bad batch or something, thats unacceptable. I cant believe you got two of them that did that.... Hopefully Warrior will help you out.

On a sidenote I received a Dynasty for my KGB that broke under warranty. Was really surprised when I opened the box! Seems like an awesome stick so far! I'll do a comparison to the Widow after I use it.

I'm looking to buy one of those from a guy who says he got it from an AHL team. I am not 100% sure it is a true Widow and not a repaint. Are there any giveaway signs to tell if the stick is an actual widow? Codes or features on the shaft that would not be found on any other stick?

I have a kovalchuk pro stock which i believe is a dolomite fused with a with a widow blade? It has no dagger taper and a definate fuse joint. Blade has x stitch

So the x-stitch on the blade is unique to the Widow? The taper seems easy enough to check. Thanks

Dodged a bullet. Turns out it wasn't a widow. The concept of a re-paint seemed lost on the seller.

Hockey Giant has these for $150 this weekend when I was down in the States.

I loved the stick, but I wish they were more durable.

They're going for $270 here in Canada.

Still, I was really, really tempted.

Saw burrows using the Widow se (blue) in the playoffs last year and fell in love with the stick (based on looks at first), there was also a post about it on pro stock nation: http://prostocknatio...rrior-widow-le/ . Earlier in the year, during a tsn broadcast of a canucks game, Ray Ferraro was talking about how players are aware of the equipment they use and they want to look good on the ice, and he specifically talked about burrows "beautiful" blue stick.

Coming from S19s and dolomites before that, id have to say the widow is one of the best sticks I've used. great shooting and excellent puck feel. With regards to durability and Warrior: My dolomites blade started cracking about 10 skates in, then went soft on me, it was hard to swallow $250 down the drain but i said id give warrior another shot. So far, after 7 skates (rough league games) the blade of my widow has stayed in perfect condition, with a couple of small paint chips on the shaft, HOWEVER i think its important to tape the entire blade and not let it have little breaks in it. So I tape the whole blade and double tape the tip of the blade (use scissors to cut the excess tape) and sex wax the heck out of the entire blade. this has worked for me so far, but i know asking a hockey player to change his tape job is a big step on its own, because we hockey players are weird.

In my opinion, if i use my widow for a month ( avg about 13 skates) and be "lucky" enough to get another one brand new under warranty before the 1 month period, and use that for another 20 skates (33ish skates) I would be getting my moneys worth.

Is there a durability issue with the top performance warriors? yes, but maybe it could be managed to some extent?

here are some pics of the widow se grip, my tape job, and my warrior franchise gloves. The gloves are unreal, after getting them i realized why nhlers use them. although the colours don't match, the warrior on warrior looks good. Bottom line, I love this

company and will probably be using their gear for years to come.

Whats a better curve for sauce; kovy or gionta?

I thought I'd do a quick review of the new Widow that I've just gotten. I actually recieved it last week before a game, but decided not to use it as it was against one of the hack/slash teams in the league.

Previous sticks used (too many), but most recently Base Savoy 85 flex P92 clone, and Bauer X60 87 flex prostock P92 (says so on nameplate and is consistent with P92 blades I've got).

First impressions of the stick: very very light weight, possibly the lightest I've used in a long time, including a short stint with the XN10. THe stick felt very balanced, and not blade heavy at all. I had it cut about 3inch as I've been experimenting with a shorter stick for this smaller rink that I play at. I got the 85 flex Kopitar, which is similar/same as the P92 pattern. Puck handling the garage was nice, with me being able to feel the puck well. The puck didnt feel 'alive', but thats me with my stone hands. To be fair, the X60 and the widow were pretty much on par for me.

Graphics was really nice, toned down somewhat compared to the Dolo that I've used before. I liked the blue graphics even though I would have prefered the red graphics scheme.

Pre-game warmups... this was where I tried to be more conscious of my shooting style. For both snappers and slappers, I dont change my bottom hand position. I took about 3 slapshots and could really feel the shaft flex. The puck did seem to come off the blade very sweetly, and I could feel a little more zip in my shots. Always tried to pick top corners, and just missed the top corners by a couple inchs. With the X60, I never really felt the shaft flex at all, but could really feel the Widow shaft do the work. I took another half dozen or so snappers, and the shots were faster and more accurate than me shooting with my X60.

Game time, and during the game I could feel the puck (I dont hold onto the puck very long, usually receive and give and go and one touch passing). I normally play in front of the opposing goalie, to redirect shots or get garbage rebound goals. Tonight wasnt my night to score, but I did feel that my shots during the game were harder and true to where I was aiming for. I did take about half dozen faceoffs and blocked a slap shot with the shaft. There was no damage to the graphics at all, and could not see anything more than the usual scratches from game play.

I'll continue to use this stick at the next game, and will post another review then. I'm very impressed with this stick so far, and will continue to use it moving forward.

I wanted to briefly share my experience with the Widow stick. I bought my girlfriend one and after about 2-4 games I was inspecting it. I noticed a rattle and further diagnosed it to a split/chip in the heal of the stick. I must say, we were pretty bummed out about the durability of the stick, but as it was not where the heal of the stick contacted the surface, we chalked it up to bad luck.

Long story short, I contacted Warrior via their website and through other persistence, just simply asking if this was something they typically cover under their warranty as I did not want to waste their, nor my time/postage to ship it to them if it wasn't "typically covered". They eventually got back to me and about a week after shipping the stick back to them, they replaced it with a Widow SE. Thanks Warrior for standing behind your product.

Thanks for sharing your story and I'm glad we were able to help you with your warranty claim. Our warranty department has been working very hard on our return and replacement turn-around of our product and point of service. Glad to see it worked out for you.

fatwabbit and Amiroo39 - Very nice reviews. Thanks.

I'll throw in the thread that I had similar issues of deep chips on the shaft and wondered about the shaft integrity.

And certain someone helped me procure a replacement through the warranty department.

Love this stick, and have had excellent durability. Its starting to go a little flat 8 months out, but that's not bad

Widow remains, but there is also the additional SE for 2012 Spring.

Miseaujeu, is the stick Mikkel Boedker has been using recently a Widow? From pics just see a bold DT on the taper portion that I don't see on some other Widow prostocks I have.
