The Ai.9? No, as I said, it wasn't there.

I haven't even seen it.

Kinda looks like the 40 stick, white and red.

Lol Reebok's loss for not bring a stick out to compete. They can barely get any players to sign for their product. They lost their premier ccm player.

I don't know what their reps were concerned about, unless the product was something they weren't confident about. Someone was bound to like it, and because that person never got it in their hands, their word of mouth, and thus their free salesman is dead. Perhaps Reebok should find a new hockey marketing group. Thanks to manufacturers with faith in all of their product, Easton, Bauer, and warrior. As well as the manufacturers with smaller or niche product lines that have come out to winterfest and summer jam. You guys get it.

The apx is a nice stick, IMO... but it is not worth $250US. Bauer will start to see market push back, IMO. Yes, people will buy it, but not as widescale as at 210... I seriously doubt there was that much more development costs and material cost to justify a msrp of 250, versus the x:60.

I guess we'll see. But Bauer can kiss my ass at that price. And I was impressed by the product.

That's a bit harsh - I don't find fault with anything Reebok did; this is a q4 product and I can understand if they don't have demo. What I couldn't understand is why the local rep decided upon himself not to bring the sample when I had already agreed with Reebok that it'd be there.

Have you guys gotten to try it? Really interesting concept with the dual stiffnesses. Does it play like a mid-kick stick?

Everyone seems to talk about it like this is something new with the Ai9, but haven't Reebok been doing this for awhile with their sickick sticks? Using different weaves/stiffness on the forehand vs. backhand side of the shaft?

Malkin is not pushing hard on those videos

I think you haven't seen crosby's ones, much more impressive. The guy is a alien, none is able to play such a "pure" hockey.

Although I wasn't there, I don't have a problem with what Matt said. It is Reebok's responsibility to make sure that the rep shows with what Reebok promised.

Not to worry Matt, if it follows suit with the previous Reebok sticks, it's a piece of shit.

The stick is worth $250 US to someone as guys seem to be creaming themselves over it. After all these years, I'm glad that someone is standing up to Easton and pushing the ceiling on stick pricing. Bauer has grown in the stick category by leaps and bounds!

I wish TPS would've had brought XN10 to market back in 2004 with an MSRP of $225 US. We had the stick, we had players defecting from Easton. The stick would have sold better at retail because there would have been the price hype + the growing number of players using it at pro. At the end of the day however, Easton knew that TPS would someway, somehow, fuck it up, and they did!

Seven years later, TPS is no more as we knew it... All of the hard work put forth by the reps negated by complete incompetence.

That's precisely my reasoning for being harsh on Reebok. I think its "goofy" of the rep to make a decision not to show, when management green lit the product. They lost free marketing because of it. I appreciate that corporate oked it, and that they were generous in providing a big showing with ccm product, but they missed out on a major opportunity.

Regarding the 250us price point. Yes someone will buy it. Some will buy two. But they can stand to steal market share from Easton at a lower price point. Crack dealer method or marketing, get them hooked for cheap in a good product, and then push the envelope with the next release after they get better market penetration. I think a price comparable to the widow would have suited them well.

As an aside, has there been any chatter of what will become of the TPS brand for the upcoming season? Evidently the contract Sherwood has on the TPS name is expiring? I guess it doesn't much matter. I counted a whopping total of two pros using TPS sticks in the NHL last season (Scott Hannan and Jaro Spacek) so I'm guessing there isn't much compelling reason for any company to buy the brand and keep it alive.

At one time Easton pushed the envelope with retail pricing on OPS. Stealth? Since then, they have pulled out the CCM Tacks skate R & D business plan with so many recent OPS offerings. In other words, one dud after another. At the same time, Bauer has elevated their OPS models, created success and demand for these Q4 launches, year after year(go back to 2008 with ONE95 in the hidden locker box and move forward). Not all shops will sell APX at $250, but Bauer can push the price envelope in this category, just like they do in skates, because they are at the top of their game in the category.

I guess I just dont get it. I mean every year someone comes out with something flashy and cool. Maybe a bit better than the year before. But in the end I still dont see a retail stick with a retail pattern and flex worth $250 without something extremely innovative and proven to last while performing hands down above everything else out there. After being on here year after year and hearing how these great sticks with high $$$ tags break, I still feel a company should put there rear on the line and offer a better warranty. Just my thoughts.

The price of everything goes up year after year, whether or not one perceives the "new and improved model" to be better or not. Just my retail/equipment buyer/life long consumer of all kinds of products cynicism coming out. I do understand your point of view.
