Read more I've had 2 pairs of Bauer Vapor 8 skates with perf steel. the first set of steel lasted 5 years and only changed out because I wore them down. the "new" pair of skates also has perf steel and is still going strong after 2 years. of course, I'm just playing beer league.... Read more I'm trying to put one togehter, I don't think the plexiglass is necessary. And just for added difficulty, I'm putting goalie paddles in the middle of mine to make bouncing more difficult. GLUhipfan 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2010 (edited) I should be stocked up on sticks for a while. These are 4 of the 6 recent acquisitions. I'm using the other two (one Van Ryn, one Niskanen). The S19s have matte finish blades and are painted as S19s. I'm not sure exactly what they are (sticker says STNHL), but they definitely lack the elliptical part.
