Update to my painful arch issue: I went ahead and rebaked the skates at a LHS. Per the current directions; 10 minutes with the insoles removed. I tied them at about 50% tension and began pressing inwards on the area of my arches surrounding the painful spot. My logic was to give my feet better/more even support across the entire length of the arch so as to relieve pressure on the spot that felt painful. I'm happy to say that this has worked out well! I now feel firm support across the entire arch with no pain anywhere. I highly suggest this to anyone who is experiencing similar pain to what I previously described.

Try going to the next shallower hollow for your next skate. My first skate on mine on 3/4's felt as if I was skating on a 1/2". Took me a few skates to overcome that, but now have them dialed in.

You mean stiffness in the heel? Superfeet yellows have nothing in the arch as it is more of a heel stabilizer. Most people who have issues with Superfeet are buying the size stated on the box alone. When fitting these footbeds it is essential to make sure the heel is properly supported. Heat the skates again, insert the Superfeet and mold.

Seriously. I get that not a lot of hockey players know about non-hockey custom insoles but with other sports like cycling, skiing, hiking, etc in which foot comfort and stability are an issue, there are a decent amount of options. Just google.

There was an unplanned purchase of a Traeger smoker at Costco today, though I've been eyeballing them for over a year. Then I finished the day drinking this, it was my grandfathers, been sitting for a few years in moms's cabinet. Both now passed & my sister and I said, "time to run that bottle". Good day, stories while we killed that brought tears to my eyes more than once. Sucks getting old and having to rest your loved ones, celebrate they were GREAT! (Bittersweet) Some would think odd, the "sweet spot", but having a good drink with family, remembering our loved ones and the stories, sweet....bittersweet, but sweet all the same.

If anybody is interested in Labeda Movement frames, I have a couple of medium that are like new ($50 plus shipping for a set of 2 including axles, bolts, spacers, tool). They were removed from Alkali Shift skates. They are straight 80mm and the second wheel (from the front) recesses into the boot a bit. I also have several sets of 80mm 74A Labeda Dynasty III wheels ($40 plus shipping for a set of 8). ~petev

Yeah 6/32 t- nuts are the go & I use stainless steel Allen key dome head bolts, no need for washers with the dome head bolts. With the t-nuts I leave the prongs & tighten them with a inch long bolt & get the prongs to sink in, result is a very tough finish & a pro look with the stainless Allen key dome heads.

+1 for 6/32 t-nuts. First time mounting myself and wow is it rewarding. Also added washers to the screws.

So I beat the crap out of my 705 in 8 months of play, so I went back to Bauer (and not leaving them ever again). Custom NXG skates converted....Addictions are going on them next week, I just haven't made it back to the shop to pick them up. Sorry for the crappy picture.

I just started playing roller hockey again this year after about a five year break. I found this forum and this specific thread when I began looking into getting a new ice boot and inline chassis. I didn't realize conversions had become so popular. Had the chassis mounted and got them baked on Sunday, figured I'd post up the end result here since this thread really got me excited and pushed me to get some new skates. Boot is a size 8.5 Easton Stealth S15 with Mission Vanguard Chassis. These skates are unbelievably light.
