More validation that I made a wise choice stocking up on Made In Canada Warrior mitts.

I think it was all downhill from the APX and MX3 for Bauer, CL series for CCM, and QR1 for Warrior. While the newer gloves might be lighter (arguably) they don feel the same, aren't as durable and aren't worth the ridiculous cost.

Gloves have become such a sad joke.

The Bell logo is way too much imo. Seems like they haven't set a standard on helmet ad sizes. Rangers and devil's looked ok, but Habs and the Pens I saw were atrocious. Edit: My point is that they need to standardized dimensions, colors, positioning etc. The only thing from Europe that I'd like to see more of is the Jofa 690 helmets lol

It took the better part of a decade of dreading going to work every day, but we finally made the leap of faith into a new career for myself, and it is delightful.

I have no idea about retail, but mine came with standard Nash with palm and thumb overlays and they're fine. I don't even know how anyone can wear retail gloves. The branding everywhere is just gross. Plus I paid 130 for brand new gloves with full poron package. Not sure what the retails come with. BTW, I think your assertion that the palms should last longer is not what Bauer is going for. I think their approach is more that the $200 gloves should have a pro feel, which is why they choose performance palms over durability. For the mid tier gloves the palms tend to be more durable for the average player who is looking for that.

What I did with my AXLTs when the loop side had worn out was buy a package velcro straps https://www.velcro.com/products/ties-and-straps/900600__all-purpose-strap/?shape=strap&size=18in-x-1in&color=black and stitch it as an extension to the sling wrap. It gives a full wrap around your forearm and locks the pad very nicely. I'll take some pictures when I get home this evening.

This is the truth. 2S Pro are amazing, 1S were solid and even 1X Pro were good gloves.

As others have noted below, it's not just international. I had a package shipped from Seattle for my business the week before Thanksgiving (US) and they shipped USPS against my wishes. It has been "in transit" since Nov 28. It was an urgent shipment, which compounded my anger. My wife sent out 40 Christmas cards on Dec 15th, most domestic, and only a fraction of them have been received. It's a combination of Covid affecting the workforce (less labor available) and the budget cuts enacted over the past year to cripple the USPS They were pretty effective in their objective.

Might not help much, but even thin cotton is a little thicker than a synthetic. Try some Pearsox Ultralites. They are about the thinnest I have found. You can get them from Epic Sports for like $2-3 a pair. Just watch the sizing, I am 6'3" with an 11.5 shoe and I can wear either youth or intermediates. Very cheap experiment. My foot looks similar to yours, sticking out right at those 3-6 eyelets, maybe a little less extreme though.

I felt the same way for a while, but I recently picked up a pair of pro stock 2SPros and they are unreal. Some of the best gloves I've ever worn. Granted, I plan on sending them to Pat for some mods, but the protection on them is unreal and they are very comfortable. They are far superior to mx3s imo. Even the 1Ss were great. In the Vapor line I agree, apx2 pros have yet to be topped.

Agreed with all the above, I think the 5030 is the most recognizable/iconic one. Maybe the PMP 7000 that I believe was more popular in the NHL? Or you could do something flashy and try to recreate the Gretzky Easton with some shiny paint?

Compared to putting on Makos in a lockerroom full of people you don't know?........ Probably anything helps. I get your point though.

Short term, switching to CXN holders may be cheaper and make the adjustment to the new skate easier, but long term getting used to a holder that's in production (as you suggested) makes more sense. Hopefully profiling the True holders does the trick and no holder swap is needed.

Just picked up a brand new pair of 20K skates for $50 CAD. Thankfully my wife tolerates my skate habit. I feel like the Imelda Marcos of skates!
