Move the Velcro to the front somehow with a new strap?

My story is really simple. I tried just about every model skate (in my price range) that was available at the time spending easily $1500+ and making back only a fraction of that selling them used. I finally said screw it and bought OG Makos and bam... no more pain. Then when I switched to goalie I started with Bauer Reactor goalie skates and had the same pre-Mako pain again. Since there was no goalie Mako I decided I wasn’t going through the process all over again and went straight to VH. Still the best hockey equipment decision I’ve ever made. -

I don’t care about the cosmetic issues with my skates. I just don’t. Having something that doesn’t hurt my feet far outweighs anything that could be cosmetically wrong with them. That said, I completely understand why people are bothered by it. It shouldn’t happen. I always joke that “first world problems are the worst problems because they’re always things that shouldn’t be problems in the first place”. I think the QC issues True continues to have kind of falls into that category. You may say it’s being nitpicky about things that don’t really matter. But at the same time they shouldn’t need to nitpick things that are easily fixable if they’d just put an ounce of time and effort into their QC process. I will say though, I saw a bit of irony as I was picking excess glue off my wife’s new Bauer skates... -

I think he meant people aren’t complaining anywhere but here, so shops don’t know about issues. -

When I go through a ring or the filter light comes on, whichever comes first. -
You can probably get used to anything, eventually. But for somebody switching from a visor it definitely helps to not have dark lines in front of your eyes.

Wait, you didn’t bake them yet?

I think Beckett and PSA both will do autograph verification but don’t quote me on that. -
It makes a huge difference. When you have bars in front of your eyes, it’s much much easier to pick up the puck when the bars are the same color as the background (the ice). Source: Goalie who always wears white cages on his masks

Here's some more photos of my issues. I think I'm going to reach out to them. Do you guys know if you can still email Rob directly? It's obviously been a while. At this point if I just keep doing what I've been doing for 4+ years (using a shoe horn) I'm not super worried about it. I'm due for a new pair of skates in the next year or so anyway. But still worth talking to them. On another note, it's funny that the white accent glue is failing. They look like they're stitched on but clearly not. And one more thing... anyone know what this copper colored stuff is that is exposed when the "leather" is worn away? -

1-2 passes before every skate. Consistency is more important than anything. I want them to feel exactly the same every time. -
It’s amazing how quickly things degrade.

Stable 26 might be a good suggestion especially with where she’s feeling the pain.

I’m not sure but I would prefer to not mess with the one skate that fits perfectly. I dunno. Well try thicker socks, then some sort of padding, then buy a pair of 4.5 and a pair of 5 and try those

I do not understand why somebody would do that. -
Yup, just like that. Or what I was originally thinking of was something like this https://www.icewarehouse.com/Ezeefit_2mm_Ankle_Booties/descpage-EZ2MMN.html

I hadn't even thought of that. The Jr size is $150. That makes it much more palatable as a solution. Yeah, she may. And I agree putting the longer holder on the small skate is probably something that should be done if possible, but if not she'll have to just live with it. Fitting her foot is far more important anyway. Note: She's not a hockey player, this is just for public skating. So I'm not super worried about her performance being affected or anything.

Took my wife to be fitted for some new skates. Did the Bauer scan and she ended up coming up as a Supreme 6D on her left foot and a Supreme 4.5D on her right foot (and recommended 6D overall). Yes, 1.5 full size difference. It still seems crazy to me. Anyway, we went for a skate after baking them and she loves the feel of her left foot but unsurprisingly her right foot is having problems. So, short of buying a second pair of skates (which I’ll do as a last resort but would obviously prefer not to), can anyone offer suggestions? She said the biggest problem spot is on the inside heel area. I’m thinking maybe a neoprene ankle sleeve would be an option, or hell maybe even just a thicker sock. I already ordered speed plates for her because frankly the footbed in these is by far the worst I’ve ever seen in a skate. But I’m not really expecting them to help much. Maybe getting that spot punched out, but knowing the skate is too big I’m not sure how effective that would really be either. These are $199 skates so even if I have to buy a second pair it’s still half the price of what my skates cost so I’m not completely against the idea if it means she’ll actually skate with me.

I’ll move it when I’m back on my laptop. Though I’m not sure what’s being pointed out.

Here's where I posted the original rip. I wonder if they'd be able to fix them still...
