VH Footwear/TRUE by Scott Van Horne

I’ve started having pain over the last month or two. Just below where the big toe meets the foot. Almost like there’s something digging into the top of my foot there. I can’t figure out what it is. -
The only fishbowl I’ve used that didn’t fog was the original avision mask. Even their second version did. I’m curious about this one though now that I’m in a CCM bucket.

Let’s get back on topic.

There’s always the standard clear plastic ones too.

Pasternak and Nylander are really close. I can see the Kopitar comparison for sure. Anyway, let’s get back on track.
-
Pasternak is definitely not the first 88 that comes to mind
-
His helmets always look way too small for his head

What do you mean?

I would recommend that too unless that won’t work for you. -

I wouldn’t expect everyone to be able to. But I can. -

My story is really simple. I tried just about every model skate (in my price range) that was available at the time spending easily $1500+ and making back only a fraction of that selling them used. I finally said screw it and bought OG Makos and bam... no more pain. Then when I switched to goalie I started with Bauer Reactor goalie skates and had the same pre-Mako pain again. Since there was no goalie Mako I decided I wasn’t going through the process all over again and went straight to VH. Still the best hockey equipment decision I’ve ever made. -

I don’t care about the cosmetic issues with my skates. I just don’t. Having something that doesn’t hurt my feet far outweighs anything that could be cosmetically wrong with them. That said, I completely understand why people are bothered by it. It shouldn’t happen. I always joke that “first world problems are the worst problems because they’re always things that shouldn’t be problems in the first place”. I think the QC issues True continues to have kind of falls into that category. You may say it’s being nitpicky about things that don’t really matter. But at the same time they shouldn’t need to nitpick things that are easily fixable if they’d just put an ounce of time and effort into their QC process. I will say though, I saw a bit of irony as I was picking excess glue off my wife’s new Bauer skates... -

I think he meant people aren’t complaining anywhere but here, so shops don’t know about issues. -

Here's some more photos of my issues. I think I'm going to reach out to them. Do you guys know if you can still email Rob directly? It's obviously been a while. At this point if I just keep doing what I've been doing for 4+ years (using a shoe horn) I'm not super worried about it. I'm due for a new pair of skates in the next year or so anyway. But still worth talking to them. On another note, it's funny that the white accent glue is failing. They look like they're stitched on but clearly not. And one more thing... anyone know what this copper colored stuff is that is exposed when the "leather" is worn away? -

1-2 passes before every skate. Consistency is more important than anything. I want them to feel exactly the same every time. -
It’s amazing how quickly things degrade.

I do not understand why somebody would do that. -
I’ll move it when I’m back on my laptop. Though I’m not sure what’s being pointed out.
