  1. The FT6 looks good, the FT6 Pro and others are meh. https://acrobat.adobe.com/link/track?uri=urn:aaid:scds:US:edee4654-3144-4b16-9464-a8495a7588da
  2. Remember back in the day when sticks only had ratings of soft, regular, stiff, and x-stiff.
  3. Throw in the discussion of swing weight and you can really blow a customer's mind.
  4. It's complicated. Some of the Ribcor features have been merged into the new Jetspeed line of skates thus eliminating the need to have a third line of skates.
  5. Look around on sidelineswap and you'll eventually come across them. Yes, for pros and customs it's black and grey instead of black and neon. That being said, majority of them are not using the new hybrid outsole.
  6. You are correct. Many skates the pros are using are custom in more than just fit. For example, I still see skates that "look" like a Hyperlite but they are made with a tech mesh material; Carbon outsoles, TPU outsole, Hyperlite outsole. I also have seen CCM 80K skates that are dressed in 100K graphics, they are easy to spot since you can see the boot in not one-piece and is instead separated into a boot and an outsole.
  7. I know they have a pretty aggressive sale going which could mean either really good or bad things for the holder. I tested the previous generation holder and while it felt decent I disliked how heavy and overly stiff the holder was. Overall I was not impressed. Has anyone used the new holder extensively? Good? Bad? Meh?
  8. I was told in person that all skates made in 2023 at specific price points will have the new holder. However, I have not seen any certified literature to back this up.
  9. https://www.einnews.com/pr_news/597148062/pure-hockey-agrees-to-acquire-the-penalty-box-in-las-vegas-nevada#:~:text=HOLLISTON%2C MA%2C USA%2C October,located in Las Vegas%2C Nevada.
  10. I go +1 on every pair of skates. In fact, I have been tinkering actually with +2 lately and finding I like that as well.
  11. Parabolic shape is only on the top of the steel where it engages the holder. I agree, this design seems like a bad idea. I told Bauer this and they quickly dismissed me. Not surprising. The change to the way the blade fits in the holder is supposed to accomplish one main thing. Keeping the steel locked in. Because of the parabolic shape the steel cannot shift forward or backward, thus if you take a shot off the holder the steel is less likely to come out. The trigger mechanism is 100% the same as the EDGE. 100% the same parts and design. I fear putting Fly steel in an EDGE holder would result in the steel twisting in the holder since its not making 100% contact the entire way through.
  12. Let's get some facts out: Fly holder will accept only Fly steel. The center of the holder (steel channel) is skinner than the front and back, kinda like this )( Fly steel will work with Fly or Edge holder. Edge steel cannot fit into Fly holder. Fly holder is stiffer in the front and softer in the heel to allow for more ice contact when coming out of turns. Same idea why they softened the rear outsole on the Hyperlite boot. Overall, it's significantly stiffer than the current EDGE holder. You cannot twist the Fly holder with your hands like you are able to do with the EDGE holder. Same height, same dimensions, some bolting pattern. The trigger is grey, like the current EDGE holder. Weight is the same as the EDGE holder.
  13. Most brands relooking to move most of the manufacturing to Mexico. In fact, Warrior, TRUE, CCM and Bauer all have factories in Mexico now.
  14. Any breaks I have seen are in the lower 1/3 of the shaft at the flex point.
  15. More durable than the T5 Pro. We don't see many of the T6 Pro come back with catastrophic failures. However, YMMV.
  16. 2023 Bauer will be introducing a new titanium cage with the Profile shape.
  17. The SSM profiles are slightly more symmetrical. I find they are more favored than the standard Quad profiles for players that are transitioning from a standard single radius profile. It really is a personal preference for the player. I think a more aggressive toe and longer heel feel better personally, but others might want less of a heel and thus a symmetrical profile will feel better to them.
  18. 3 min after the over is at operating temperature. Set the oven for 6 min, at 3 min put the skates in. Pull out on the laces, not up, so you don't tear the eyelets.
  19. I don't think anyone was referring to your specific instances. All of that is genuine.
