  1. The shop doing the order needs to request it specifically for you.
  2. My understanding is this was before they had the same technology released in the Supreme line, they are now stamping them differently.
  3. Does your local Pure Hockey store use a ProSharp?
  4. ADV construction with Supreme shaft shape.
  5. It seems very possible. Bauer has partnered heavily with ProSharp so I can imagine CCM might be looking to find an way into the sharpening market without having to buy out a big company. Sparx would fit perfectly into that category. Also, I noticed a while ago that a lot of CCM reps also do sales for Sparx as well.
  6. If you dont block a lot of shots they are fine. They are very light and great for forwards. They also dont soak up and water so they stay light through gameplay.
  7. D3O is actually very dense and heavy which is why it's used very sparingly in protective gear in mainly the critical areas. How thick are you wanting to go with this foam? There are Volara 2LB and 4LB materials which are both rated to be nonirritant for primary skin irritation. Volara: https://www.thefoamfactory.com/closedcellfoam/volara-foam.html There are also other softer Closed Cell foam types including 2LB Cross-Linked Polyethylene, Neoprene High Quality, and Minicel T200, T300. Closed Cell Foam: https://www.thefoamfactory.com/closedcellfoam/closedcellfoam.html They are nice, a little wide though and not as form-fitting which I prefer.
  8. They have a lot of big things going on right now so production times and warranty stuff is a little backed up.
  9. Has anyone ever determined how to disassemble a Sparx ring? We got a new batch in the mail and one of them cannot be read by the machine at all. It just gives an error message. When I scan it with a Mifare NFC reader the data seems corrupt when compared to other rings. I want to take the backing off another ring and swap it over but cannot seem to find out how the rings disassemble the ring. This is what the data on a good ring looks like: The other ring just gives an error and says the data is corrupted.
  10. Good to know. I was considering ordering one of these to wear for drop-in and such. I still prefer to wear full shoulders in games as there are way too many heroes who like to take clap bombs from the top of the circles and cannot control their shot. I got hit in the throat last week by some moron. Thankfully my cage took most of the brunt.
  11. The 2S Pro shins have decent protection but are not nearly as protective as the Super Tacks AS1 shins. If I was wearing my AS1 shins I am pretty sure I would not have had this much bruising from taking a shot off the front of my shin. It's crazy how the bruise wraps around the entire calf and such when the impact from the puck was directly into the front of the shinpad itself.
  12. Guess we will know soon since the next generation Nexus should be released in October 2020 assuming Bauer stays consistent with their release dates.
  13. For two points to flex there does not need to be a cutout, you can incorporate a type of synovial joint.
  14. I have been considering testing the Supreme ADV as I heard a lot of really good feedback on it. Now that Ice Warehouse is selling them online I might pick one up.
  15. Article loads for me just fine. The entire blade face od the stick, including the hole cutout, is one-piece. It's not entirely separate sections. Again, you could design the same soft bottom and stiffer top without putting a hole in the blade. Come on guys, this isn't rocket science. I shared the stick information to my friends who are aerospace engineers at Telsa and SpaceX and their comments were "That design is silly and entirely unnecessary." Maybe Elon Musk needs to start making hockey sticks?
  16. You are the one talking out of your ass my friend ;) I am not sure about your background, but I do engineering. You absolutely can separate the blade cores internally, and can also do such externally, depending on how you lay the carbon fiber. Adding a rigid upper section and a softer lower section. This doesn't specifically require you to put a hole in the blade. The hole in the blade was all visual marketing. Here is a really good article that talks a lot about such: https://opedge.com/Articles/ViewArticle/2013-07_10 I don't disagree with the theory and engineering philosophy behind what they are doing, I disagree with the execution. We all know that many pro players typically prefer a softer blade which is why the standard Nexus blade, with a dampening layer, is the most popular blade in the NHL. It allows some forgiveness compared to an extremely stiff blade, which does not.
  17. I am not sure CCM should be taking shots when they did this...
  18. I know! That goalie is crazy short but he is actually really good.
  19. He sprays a light coat of the clear option. https://www.flexsealproducts.com/product/flex-seal/
  20. I'm such the opposite, I use 84" laces and my skates are basically 7.5
  21. The moisture-wicking liner will provide a little bit of movement compared to the clarino liner. It's not a grippy fabric like you would find on Bauer/CCM. However, if you want to remove any negative space put in another red insole and move the tongue further into the toe. This will lock in your foot and keep it from moving at all.
  22. I have been eagerly waiting for that stuff. If anyone can get their hands on it let me know 🙂
