20 is playing right defense. The other guy on left defense got burned. But, he's the guy who it appears to have made a slash. So, if 20 is the only guy between the attacker and the goalie (after skating by the left defenseman), he should have turned around and skated backwards. Why he played with his back to the puck while the attacker crossed the blue line, I don't know. I see he can skate backwards later on.

Not sure if they put a patch on over a pair of CCMs or if he got new pads? Here's a picture from 2021 training camp. Price had red CCM pads which he hardly wore in the previous seasons. Or they could be all new. Never noticed it, he's got Graf cowlings with the inner foot area shaved out.

Not an interference. The guy was in possession of the puck. As for slashing, after the puck handler crosses the blue line, the defenseman looks like he made a slash. There are two other times after that where the defenseman has his stick near the puck handler but they don't look like slashes and it appears he is trying to go after the puck. Lifting the stick while the opposing player is in possession is not a penalty. Aside from that, why didn't 20 stay in front of the puck handler? It's not like there was a possible pass play.

USPS likes to lose international packages
caveman27 replied to iceman8310's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I got a package from NY to Virginia in about a month. It was a Christmas present. My wife sent a package to an address in the same state, it took a month and a half, and it was sent Priority Mail. -
No one has asked it yet. What's your street shoe size? Do you wear regular width (D) or wide (E or EEE) dress shoes?

I understand there's a cash flow problem with no arena ticket sales. I'm hoping it's temporary.

Thighs burn/ get really tight when skating

I think you asked something similar before. -
Veteran NHL goaltender Henrik Lundqvist announced Monday that he will have open-heart surgery. "Last 3 weeks my focus has shifted from training camp and the upcoming season to my health and what I can and can't do," he posted to social media. "Scheduled for an open heart surgery now - aortic valve replacement, aortic root and ascending aortic replacement, to be more exact." ... https://www.yahoo.com/sports/capitals-g-lundqvist-open-heart-155334650.html I think he's done with playing pro hockey. He could switch to coaching, scouting or color commentary in the future if he wants to stay connected to the game in some other way.

Bauer Supreme Ultrasonic skates with custom flag graphic
caveman27 replied to caveman27's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Well, it is official. You can now order custom skates with a flag graphic, and it's $100 just like custom colors. You can't do it online, you have to order it through an official Bauer dealer. -
Streaming world JR games in Canada and the NHL app
caveman27 replied to SILVER82's topic in General Hockey Discussions
I've been watching the highlights on youtube, because it's free. The American color commentary is not good. I can just watch it all without the volume on. Aside from that, the games are pretty good and fun to watch. -
Insulating spray foam is slightly soft after it dries so I doubt it's adding any rigidity or altering the kick point stiffness. It might be absorbing shock if anything.
-
Not surprised. It's all a business. I think the NHL is headed down the same road as pro Euro teams. Ad space will include the uniforms and areas under the ice.

Bauer Supreme Ultrasonic skates with custom flag graphic
caveman27 replied to caveman27's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Considering the custom version costs $1,149.99 USD, and custom colors cost an extra $100 (not sure if flag graphic is going to cost more than solid color graphic), I can't afford/justify a $1,249.99 pair of skates. 🙄 Maybe CCM and/or TRUE Sports will follow by offering custom graphic options too. -
I saw that yesterday. I wonder what the Canadian teams are going to do if they need to bring up a player from an American farm team. Vancouver Canucks are affiliated with the Utica Comets in Utica, NY. Calgary Flames are affiliated with the Stockton Heat in Stockton, CA. Edmonton Oilers are affiliated with Bakersfield Condors in Bakersfield, CA. If they block players from entering the country, or have a 2 week quarantine, their team might be temporarily stuck with a smaller bench. These three farm teams have their secondary farm teams in the US too.

Looks like a custom-made protector sewn on. I see it on these other gloves. I'm guessing he got his thumb injured and the equipment manager fashioned that or got someone to add it. Here's another angle of the thingy.

Can someone give me the lowdown on these old skates?
caveman27 replied to Koopa's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
FYI, whenever you get around to getting carbon fiber quarter panel skates made in the last 1 - 6 years, you are going to notice a big drop in skate boot weight, which is nice if you are older and slower. -
Random thought - Why sticks don't wood ends anymore?
caveman27 replied to VegasHockey's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I like to have some kind of end plug, plastic or wood, so when I tape over the stick's end, it's doesn't sink in. -
They have three models. Not sure what your foot type is. I watched a video on the U+ Pro. I think there's nothing like it as that seemed to be a one skate fits all with foams all over that mold to your foot.

Warrior makes two sizes in this Q20 model, 32" and 37". I bought the 32". Wheels roll easily. There are two rails along the bottom to keep its shape while pulling it along. The top zipper is nice. It zips open in a U-shape pattern so you get full access compared to a bag that zips open down the middle. There are two main straps that are sturdy. There's a hook-and-loop closing handle at the top. There's a side pull hand strap on the side of the bag. No problems. There's a clear vinyl window on the top of the bag. There's an identification card there so you can write you name and number on it. There are two external skate pockets. One on each end of the bag. No problems here. There is a zippered internal pocket. I just keep a Sweet Stick sharping tool in there. There are two non-zippered internal pockets on one side. I keep extra tape and face shield ant-fog spray in there. No problems here. The internal surface has this thinner nylon material. No problems here. The exterior surface is a heavy duty nylon. No issues or fast wear. There are some vent grommets on the bag. No problems. What I fit into my 32" bag main compartment? Men's large helmet with face shield, men's medium shoulder pads, men's small elbow pads, 14" gloves, men's medium pants, jock strap and cup, 2 pairs of hockey socks, garter belt, 14" shin pads, t-shirt, two jerseys, and water bottle. There's still some room left like neoprene knee support, lumbar belt, thermal underwear pants, towel, small stuff. Compared to a non-wheeled bag, it is a bit heavier. I play a game a week for men's league games and it hasn't had any issues. The bag isn't getting thrown around onto a team bus or airplane on a regular basis so I don't know if it can't stand up to major abuse.
-
Well, it's nice. It's a wheeled bag. It's my first one. All others I've had were non-wheeled so pulling it along is convenient. I like the external skate pockets.
-
I have a Q20 wheeled hockey bag. Not really sure why they would need to update it. Bags are bags.

I guess grassroots ice hockey is growing in Las Vegas due to the Golden Knights. -
How to help a talented player focus in games?
caveman27 replied to VegasHockey's topic in General Hockey Discussions
If he's not playing well in games, its not a big deal to put him on the third string. Maybe if he plays against other team's third line, it will boost his confidence. Not 100% about that. Maybe he's being pushed to play a level too high, but was good enough during try outs. What's his position? If he's confused about where he should be, maybe he doesn't know or he has gotten conflicting information from different coaches, parent, or whatever. If he's a forward, have you thought of putting him in a defenseman position? Or vise-versa, if he's a defenseman, put him in a winger position.
