  1. 2020 Stanley Cup Finals starting this Saturday in Edmonton, Alberta. Dallas Stars vs. Tampa Bay Lightning Kind of a big deal for Dallas who has been shuffling around in the middle of the pack for years. Tampa Bay is back in after 5 years. One guy on their team is from my hometown. It looks like they are evenly matched, so I think they'll go seven games.
  2. I didn't see the Islanders being able to come back from a 3-1 deficit, but they did keep their goals-against in their last 2 games down to one goal during regulation time. I thought Varlamov was playing great.
  3. Well, you left the one area that is going to be growing hockey-wise in the next couple of years. Good luck in your future endeavors.
  4. That was over fast. Dallas won 4 games and Vegas won 1.
  5. I'm guessing this technology won't be available with the lower cost helmets as it relates to manufacturing costs, so helmets with regular closed cell foam will still be around for awhile.
  6. Well, it didn't say custom skate fitting. I'm guessing they can use the foot's length and width to get the closest fitting skate, but I'm not sure how they figure out volume of foot in order to suggest an appropriate model.
  7. The 8-2 loss is a bad look. I can't change my poll vote. Ha ha.

  9. Who do you think will win the 2020 Western Conference Finals? Las Vegas Golden Knights or Dallas Stars? Although Dallas has won game 1, I'm not sure which team is going to win.
  10. So who do you think is going to win in the Eastern Conference? New York Islanders or Tampa Bay Lightning. I think the NY Islanders have the better offense to win it, they have a number of scorers throughout their roster instead of just one or two super stars. Goaltending is pretty even between the two teams. I think NY is also the team to win the Stanley Cup compared to Las Vegas Golden Knights or Dallas Stars.
  11. Anyone here from the Gulf Coast? Hope you are doing okay. Is ice hockey even played in that area of Louisiana?
  12. Brick Shoes would have been an awful name.
  13. Well, the leg zippers are to provide more leg room to ease a restricted feeling, not for fashion reasons. If the girdle isn't tight, don't unzip them unless you want a more baggy/loose feel.
  14. I bought a BPM150 years ago that was on clearance at hockey monkey. I like it a lot. It's no longer made. Not sure if others had issues with it and it wasn't selling well or what. The grip surface is nice. I like the amount of launch I get with slap shots, but I also cut about 6 inches off due to my height, so the kick point is higher-ish. The article didn't talk much about technological changes in their sticks, more marketing direction changes. If they are going to be back in the NHL, I wonder which players they are going to endorse. The current big names are already taken by Bauer, CCM and Warrior. I used to buy Sher-wood goalie sticks back in the 80s and 90s. Not sure if they are going to try to get back into that. I don't want to sound like a jerk, but they could just hire Don Simmons Hockey to reverse engineer a Bauer 2X Pro and make the 2X Pro Code. 😄 (that was a joke)
  15. Well, they want to save on weight, in competing with CCM on selling light-weight skates. My Supreme 6000s have that heel design. Before I got my CCM Jetspeeds, I felt like I was skating with cave man skates where most guys including the refs were wearing skates with carbon fiber boot.
  16. Not to sound like a poor bum, but composite sticks were way out of my budget back in the day. Aluminum shaft/wood blade had awful flex, but I always brought one as a back-up stick to my Sherwood 5030.
  17. I would want a modern one-piece Sherwood Rekker stick but painted with PMP 5030, feather image, and SHER-WOOD using the old-fashioned font on it. The name LECLAIR on it for curve designation too instead of PP##.
  18. If hockey companies want to market to people in their 40s and 50s with vintage looking gear, now would be a good time. Getting Bauer Ultrasonics leg pads with Cooper down the outer leg panels would be cool.
  19. This is true. I have Fred Flintstone feet and wide ankles.
  20. So far, the playoffs have been going on without a player catching the virus. Maybe the daily checkpoints at practice and game rinks are working.
  21. Well, this is nice. Now, Montreal will be facing the other Pennsylvania team. I'm amazed they won it. They brought up an unknown, Alex Belzile, from their farm club for game 4.
  22. Looking at the poll, no one expected this. Plus side, the equipment manager and crew don't have to move all their gear between the practice rink and the game rink anymore.
