Same here. Coming from a P28, the 90TM was a breath of fresh air. It just works.
-
Maybe not. They could be from a womans NCAA program. I know I have bought sub 70 flex pro stock sticks in the past. Most of which are from the NCAA or Junior programs.

The 3.1's from STX are a decent piece. Though I must admit, I returned mine. I didn't like the way the front was cut and the way the straps landed felt weird to me. I ended up with Vapor 2X shoulders. No complaints other than them being a bit stiff. They fit better and were more mobile than the other pads at that price point. I tried the Vapor X2.9's on and I did like the fit. However, the protection in the back looked a little lacking. Nice pads though.

Stick flex: any downside to going lower?
stick9 replied to SolarWind's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
As bunk as those flex guides are. It does put me in the flex I am currently using and feel the most comfortable with... -
Oops, nevermind. I got my shops mixed up.
-
Wow, a 1 piece boot, XS holder w/STEP and the interchangeable tongues for less than $400! Seems like a steal to me. However, they do not appear to be part of CCM three fit system.
-
But he nails the tongue flop. lol
-
No, that mirrored visor is right where it belongs. 😉 I agree with most here, it's been done and done better. However, this looks like something you could mount or unmount fairly quickly like say for a player who's dealing with a recent facial injury. No chin cup so no pressure on the jaw. The mounting scheme is way more robust then j-clips so it shouldn't move. From that perspective I can see some value. As an every day solution, awe hell no!

Great value in both those. I have the 710, great helmet. When it comes to shins and elbows. My recommendation would be the Tacks line. It's the closet you'll get to older style gear.
-
I have both and the clarino is wet to the touch after wearing them and still a little on the soggy side the next day. The cloth liner on the retail 70k's isn't nearly as wet after games and they are dry the next morning.
-
I got to see the HyperLite skate in person today. I don't know about that tongue. I can't see it lasting all that long. Other than that, about what you'd expect from Bauer.
-
I have both the retail and pro stock versions. I mainly use the pro stock version. Which has held up fairly well in that regard. Not really apples to apples though. Also keep in mind, I'm a bit on the thin side.
-
Hmm, might be time to check these out in person. Curious, is it worth going custom plus to swap out the liner for clarnio? If I go custom plus can I get them without the holders mounted? I'm leaning towards using Edge holders.

Way ahead of you. Already had my ACL done once and various other minor sprains and tears. I deal with bouts of soreness and stiffness from time to time. That's when I wear a thin neoprene brace. Otherwise, I don't use anything, even on the knee that had the ACL recon.
-
This is the brace I was looking into. It's a little pricey for occasional use. https://www.bauerfeind.com/b2c/Products/Knee-Braces/GenuTrain®-Knee-Brace/p/YPBF_BAK_GENUTR BTW - I have seen an off brand version for about half the price.
-
Don't look now but the P46 is gone too. For those coming from a Bauer P14. The P90TM would be the closest option currently available at retail. Before moving to the P90TM I gave the P14 a whirl. I really liked it but it was just so damn hard to find.
-
Least you got plenty of options. I've used the ShockDoctor compression sleeve in the past. It worked well for hockey.
-
I find soft hinged braces to be pointless. Anyway... What did your doctor recommend?
-
Litterly tons of info here on knee braces. I suggest using the search function.

For sale, 1 Bauer Nexus 1N pro-stock hockey stick, Right handed, P28 pattern, 82 flex with gloss coating. Stick has been cut to 61 7/8th inches from tip to butt. It was used maybe 5 times in total. Asking $110 shipped within the US. Sold!
-
You might be better off swapping out those holders for something that's easily accessible.
-
I couldn't agree more. So I glad I switched.
-
CCM FT3 is on close out for $159. That P14 (Toews) is long gone. Sure you can still find some but they are few and far between. As for flex. Try a senior 70-75 flex. I find the 70 flex sticks to be just about perfect after cutting them to length.

Need help finding something. Cannot remember what it is called
