  1. Yeah, it's a total crapshoot.
  2. Didn't some of the Mako tech make its way into current Bauer skates? The flexible tendon guard on the Supreme, no?
  3. When it's your own kids chirping, you care. LOL
  4. I think you summed it up, they're a house brand. If you want to survive, you need real products that can stand up to the competition. Ask yourself, why am I buying a Sher-Wood....what differentiates it from the other brands? There has to be something more than cost or availability. If that's all you are, a cheaper alternative, you're time will be short lived. I hope I am wrong.
  5. Unfortunately, yes. The problem I see with the Sher-Wood's of the industry are the products they are bringing to market. They're neither compelling nor different and they're pricing is on par with their competition. So why am I buying a Sher-Wood...?
  6. Man, one of these smaller companies needs to get their crap together and start making gear exclusively adults playing beer league. No one under 35 gives two craps about Sher-Wood. There is however an entire segment of the market that wants old school gear from an old school brand like Sher-Wood. When it comes to sticks it's about value and durability. Make a decent performing stick that hold up reasonably well and sell it for $149. Hell, I'd buy one just to try it. In other words, do something different. I don't understand why they don't get it.
  7. FS, One pair of lightly used Bauer APX pro pro-stock gloves in Tampa Bay blue black and grey. No rips, no tears, no smell. Thumb loops and liners are intact. Hate to sell them seeing how I just got them. They're just way too big for me. $99 $75 shipped anywhere in N/A. (Will consider shipping outside of NA if the buyer covers shipping costs). SOLD!
  8. Didn't bauer did something like that with the xxx-lite? Make it a Titan 2020 and I'm in.
  9. Gloves for sure. Keep the modern tech, but give me old school color schemes. Modern gloves are boring and drab. I loved those tan mitts the Stars wore for that outdoor game, same for the throw back Jets gloves from the heritage classic. An old school CCM bucket would be badass. Give me one of those with modern day padding. Don't skimp, I want the red and blue CCM logo too.
  10. They're better off having Step available at a reasonable upcharge at the point of sale. You get most of the sales without the added cost and BS. But more importantly, that premium brand stays premium. No one is questioning whether or not CCM is making crap steel and marking it "STEP" cuz they can.
  11. Yeah, I heard there was amendment to Bakers phased reopening that takes affect on the 17th. We'll see. Full list of guidelines was posted on the FMC site. https://fmcicesports.com/uncategorized/updated-massachusetts-guidelines-ice-hockey-return-to-play/
  12. Beer league here in MA is still a no go. My league has even asked if teams want to play in NH. Most state run rinks are still closed. I've been skating with a small private group the last few weeks. It's pretty fantastic. I was a little leery on playing mens league. Least with pickup I know each and every person who shows up and have so for years. I'm more comfortable with that than playing games against a bunch of random people each week.
  13. No, EE is wider all around so heel and ankle will be bigger.
  14. Depends on the player and the injury. As someone who still has plates and screws in their ankle, I think it all comes down to fit. If you aren't in the right skate you're feet are going to bother you regardless. Having an I'll fitting skate just compounds the issue. I think the same can be said for injury prevention.
  15. I've been eyeing some HG41CLCH gloves. I haven't used a CCM mitt since before Nike owned Bauer so I'm hesitant on buying. Curious about the fit, protection and durability? How does this model compare to say a Vapor 1X Pro or Warrior Covert?
  16. Yeah, I think the $699 price point will bring in a lot of people who were on the fence.
  17. I use the UA shirt with the grip on the arms. It works really well. The shirt itself is better than anything I have used. Wish I would have bought two.
  18. I do not believe it is a replacement. I think it's a stand-alone offering with increased portability. JMO
  19. I wouldn't be so quick to assume it will be cheaper. Small and portable means it has to be rugged. That usually means added cost and less functionality.
  20. You're right, you never mentioned the quarters. That's not really the point. The point here is, you said Trues are the only brand you can bake multiple times without issue. Which by your own admission is completely inaccurate.
  21. Umm, that's not entirely accurate. I know bauers can be baked multiple times as I owned several pairs that have been baked more than once. My ribcors have been baked at least twice so I have to assume it's the same with CCM. The issue isn't so much the quarter materials as it is the adhesives used.
  22. LS5 and Step are roughly the same price.
  23. Have you guys experienced any premature breakdown of the parts in the rear towers from blade movement?
